The atmosphere of this wine shop is completely retro and fun. Great old records for sale, vintage clothes rack out back for some thrift shopping, fun and fresh bottles of wine to take home. We sat right at the bar next to the records were playing and the owner switched records frequently and always had something fun playing. The wine here was so much fun - as someone who works in wine sales it's always refreshing to see a bar changing what wines they serve and have something new open every day. They don't have a set wine list, i believe they just choose what they want when they want and display what they are serving by the glass on a shelf behind the bar. I love that idea so you can go often and always be able to try something new. I would have had some snacks along with my wine if we had not just come from lunch but i will definitely be back since this menu always changes with what is fresh. It's got so much character, and the people running it are some of the nicest humans ever. I don't think I've ever left without a smile on my face, or without a bottle (or two) of something new and interesting. Their selection is incredible; not just wine, but also vermouths, Campari, and even pasta and bread?! Like, what don't they do? And the vibes??! Perfection. I had the crab role which had plenty of shredded crab meat, but very light on the mayo and I felt underwhelmed. The place was worth trying, but not something I would go out of my way to purchase from again. You do get a bag of chips with your meal so there is a positive note.

They found me a Jack Daniels Sinatra bottle that is very limited and they called me the second they got their hands on a bottle. Rooper's is a Maine staple and their staff is always friendly and accommodating. Mr. Rooper did a tremendous job building his business and expanding to other locations. I applaud him and his teams for continuing to raise the bar and set the standard for customer service.
