Been years awaiting this trip to Absolum cider and despite the 5 hr trek, it was worth the drive. My wife and I are huge cider fans, and stop in at cideries whenever given the chance. Absolum is in our top 3. From the working farm ambiance, to the delicious cideries, full bar of unique liquors and variety of beers and wined this was everything we couldve wanted and more. Looking forward to cracking our souvenir bottle on a special occasion!

Bucolic setting with tons of open space, a great barn with seating and friendly chickens - Small chickens and a tiny white dog are in a grassy outdoor space with trees, a barrel, and a string of outdoor lights.

Go out of your way to get here. There literally is something for everyone. We met the owners when we got here and learned about their beautiful place. They are so knowledgeable about ciders, beers and can make a mean mixed drink! We will be back and already making plans to. By far one of my favorite places in central Maine!!

Amazing place with great cocktails, cider and more. They are dog friendly and super nice. Highly recommend, you must stop here if you're in the Winthrop area!

Food trucks - A black food truck with a window is parked outdoors during dusk, with string lights and trees in the background, and a sign advertising steamed buns.

Paradise found! And even though I'm tired of saying it, what took me so long to get here?! Amazing owners, fermentors, serving succulent ciders with varieties and mixtures (wines, etc.) in a pastoral rustic, yet comfy, setting. The small beer list is also surprisingly interesting. But then they also have local charcuterie available in their deli case to go or eat in. I looked at the prices and thought it looked like Portland menu; however, he proceded to drop off the ENTIRE local sausages, wheels of cheese, and loaves of bread on our live edge table!! Gave us knives and said "enjoy, dig in." Wow. But then he told us we are welcome to bring our own food for outdoor picnics. And then we could bring our dogs. And then food trucks also visit regularly. And there are firepits. The entire campus is heated by a wood boiler from scavenged downed wood, too. Oh boy, we are going to spend some time here!

Hidden rustic gem with a large amount of inside and outside space. Excellent selection of unique home-brewed ciders that are amazing! They additionally have a large selection of charcuterie platters, wine, specialty ice ciders, and beers on tap. If you're a cider lover you MUST try this place!

View from the parking lot - A large deciduous tree with orange and green leaves is in a yard, with buildings and barrels nearby, under a cloudy sky.

Fantastic cider selection, and we went on an evening that Brother Shucker was parked and serving wonderful food.

It's very much off the beaten path but an absolute worthy spot of taking a detour for! The dirt roads were very well maintained though I must say. Once you arrive they have a giant parking lot and then once inside you step into a beautifully designed rustic space. If the weather is nice they have some absolutely stunning views you can take in outside while enjoying your beverage. During our visit, I will say a large portion of the space was in use for a party/event. Despite this the staff were very warm and welcoming to our party and even tried to create a private lounge like space for us. I very much appreciated the effort they put to make us feel welcome. I wish the weather would have been a little nicer to enjoy outside! I got their vanilla hard cider while my wife got their blueberry hard cider. Both were phenomenal. They also offer flights for only $10 and even have suggestions for some mixing of ciders including a fan favorite mix of blueberry and maple to create a blueberry pancake. I have had this blend previously and it is amazing! A spot worth adding to your list to visit for the breath-taking views and delicious drinks!

Many varieties of Ricker Hill hard cider are available, along with wine and sweet (non-alcoholic) ciders. My favorite was the Mainiac Mac Blueberry cider, made from a blend of fresh fermented apples and fresh Maine blueberries. This drink embodies the Maine wild blueberry taste that I love! It drinks sweet and tangy, a flavorful kick for your taste buds. The panoramic vista affords 360 degree views of Sabbatus Lake, the western mountains of Maine, and Mount Washington. Beautiful scenery and delicious cider. A great way to enjoy an afternoon or evening!

Thankfully we made it for their last open weekend for 2021! Service was extremely friendly - and we learned a ton about the winery and their practices. My husband listened to a podcast about the winery (which is why we'd wanted to visit), and the owner used to plow only using a horse. They have since switched to more modern ways - but I love that their wines are all-natural and with as minimal intervention as possible. The wines themselves are fantastic!! We had a 1/2 pour of each of the six offerings (sparkling white morphos, sparkling rose morphos, Chardonnay, cab franc, merlot and a cider) and I truly was surprised to find they are all GREAT!!! The sparkling white and Chardonnay were my favorites, but the reds were nice and dry and full of flavor. The cider was also dry and tart - it is lovely! The rose morphos was a bit too sweet for me, but tasty nonetheless! We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area!

It's a big ol' barn full of haphazard seating at and away from the bar. There's a good selection of wines, and the casual atmosphere only got better during our stay as more people filed in and filled the place up more. But even without a crowd, it was a peaceful spot to sit and decompress for a bit after a busy several days hiking at the national park and driving around Maine. The wine was very tasty, with my wife saying one of the sparkling wines she had was particularly good. I went with a blueberry wine because Maine, right? Also quite good, as well as thematically appropriate. Shoutout to the cute pup who greeted us when we pulled into the parking lot and walked us to the front door. He was chilling on welcome-dog duty when we left a while later haha. Great mascot. Great place.
