I visited here last night for a friends birthday. It is a little out of the way, but we wanted to try a winery that was actually in Maine. We got a wine tasting and the price was great but the wine was just okay. The view is pretty and we had dinner in spot that was a big fancy barn. Next time I would sit outside so I could get in more of the view. The food was a little overpriced for what you got. The scallop dish was okay but it looked more like an appetizer then a meal. The lobster pizza was our favorite. My friend is a vegetarian and their weren't many options for her to choose from. The service was friendly. Overall a decent meal but not my favorite.

This was our third or fourth time here, but first time this summer, and it consistently displays the same strengths and weaknesses. Some of the food is delicious! But some of it is not so great. Since my last time here, the menu has been revamped and I would say not for the better. The service and speed is really the biggest downside. They are always busy when I go, so that is one factor, but the restaurant does not seem well organized. The fondue was our favorite last summer, but this summer tasted like warm cream cheese, was clumpy, and was served with green beans and peppers (which we found to be a weird combo). Last year the grapes and crisp crackers were great pairings. That dish definitely took a nose dive in quality and presentation. The seafood fettuccine, however, was delicious and is the only reason I would ever consider going back. The salad was also fresh and the dressing was nice, but that's the end of the positive aspects of our experience. Service was incredibly slow. We put in our reservation notes that we were seeing the play (held right at the winery) afterwards, as were several other parties near us, and it should have been enough time to have dinner before the show. It seems like the restaurant totally didn't think of that as even a possibility because all three tables near us were pressed to try to finish and get to the show. The manager seemed aware that there were intense delays occurring but did absolutely nothing about it. The weirdest past was that the delays didn't seem to be from the kitchen alone, which would have been more understandable. Our waitress had no nearby tables and she never came by except when coming directly to take our order or bring us our drinks, so we couldn't ever get her attention. She came to take our drink order after we sat waiting for 20 minutes, so we ordered everything at once. Our waitress seemed totally unaware that we had a hard stop at 7:30, as though maybe the hostess and waitresses were not in communication at all. Why have a space to write notes about a reservation if they're going to be completely ignored? We did tell her ourselves once we realized, but the damage was already done and we had only 20 minutes to gobble down our food before the show started, so we really weren't able to enjoy it. The person bringing out food also tried to bring our food to another table and did this for other orders too, as if the tables weren't numbered or they didn't know how to coordinate anything. None of these issues occurred last year when we had dinner several times before a TAM show, so this establishment seems to be going downhill.

Very cute and cozy spot hidden away! The sign is faded so you have to really pay attention! The GPS will have you in the middle of the street but go a little further and there will be a sign to the right that says to turn left. It'll be the first turn on the left and you drive down a dirt road! Very calming ambiance!

A new addition to the Central Maine area. Having moved from California, I find this winery and restaurant to be quite a gem. The restaurant is quaint with a nice view of the Vineyard. Plenty of seating outdoors with heaters. Wine was impressive and the dinner was delicious. In addition, it's a pleasure to have such wonderful service. A must try! Be sure to make a reservation. Oh, I almost forgot don't forget to try the chocolate cake drizzled with King Red!

The wine tasting flights were a fantastic part of the evening.

A lovely rustic chic atmosphere, fantastic service (I'm looking at you, Devin) and exemplary food ensured that I'll be going back to Willows Awake time and time again.

The whiskey sour was as good as any I've had.

My fiancé and I have eaten here a few times, and every time it's been delicious. Great seafood, beautiful dining room, very helpful staff. Also, they sell bottles of wine if you go during the day, and the airBNB is a very comfortable place to stay. If you want to eat at the restaurant get reservations, as they tend to be packed.

    Speciality Drinks, yum!!

Loved the atmosphere of the vineyard setting, this is a great business plan that only has room to expand! The apple crisp is to die for! Animals were welcomed without hesitation, a huge plus for me!

Really nice food and great atmosphere. Service was slow but they were full. I felt it was a bite pricey for the volume.

It's very much off the beaten path but an absolute worthy spot of taking a detour for! The dirt roads were very well maintained though I must say. Once you arrive they have a giant parking lot and then once inside you step into a beautifully designed rustic space. If the weather is nice they have some absolutely stunning views you can take in outside while enjoying your beverage. During our visit, I will say a large portion of the space was in use for a party/event. Despite this the staff were very warm and welcoming to our party and even tried to create a private lounge like space for us. I very much appreciated the effort they put to make us feel welcome. I wish the weather would have been a little nicer to enjoy outside! I got their vanilla hard cider while my wife got their blueberry hard cider. Both were phenomenal. They also offer flights for only $10 and even have suggestions for some mixing of ciders including a fan favorite mix of blueberry and maple to create a blueberry pancake. I have had this blend previously and it is amazing! A spot worth adding to your list to visit for the breath-taking views and delicious drinks!

Many varieties of Ricker Hill hard cider are available, along with wine and sweet (non-alcoholic) ciders. My favorite was the Mainiac Mac Blueberry cider, made from a blend of fresh fermented apples and fresh Maine blueberries. This drink embodies the Maine wild blueberry taste that I love! It drinks sweet and tangy, a flavorful kick for your taste buds. The panoramic vista affords 360 degree views of Sabbatus Lake, the western mountains of Maine, and Mount Washington. Beautiful scenery and delicious cider. A great way to enjoy an afternoon or evening!

There was a bar, we did trivia, and not to mention the jaw dropping views of the mountains in the distance. Super homey and warm vibe to everything here. The trip was brief - Thursday evening to Sunday, but filled with family and fun. Our niece and (now) nephew selected whiteface hollow for the wedding and reception. whiteface hollow - a fantastic barn + house + winery in South Tamworth, NH. The wedding ceremony was outside, in the field, under a large maple tree, and the reception was in the barn. The property has parking in an open space amid trees... the sky is visible but the trees also provide shading to keep the intense heat off the vehicles. The property has a gentle hillside, leading to the grape vines, with a beautiful view of the White Mountains off in the distance... the view was beautiful in the afternoon and phenomenal with that night's sunset! The owner shared that the barn is original wood - interior... the floors and walls are new boards created when they brought a saw mill onsite to cut the wood from trees on the property. The barn had plenty of room for the 18 tables for guests + a dance floor for all of us.. with space for food, and the bar downstairs, and two spaces upstairs (no walls, but balcony rails). Speaking of the bar... they served inside and also through a window to the outside... the blueberry lemonade is very tasty! The winery isn't producing yet but the building is there, and we enjoyed brunch the next morning - nice! And the painting of the property over the bar is wonderful artwork. The owner and her crew were great... so helpful; we were guests so we didn't have the stress, but we could see things were well planned and executed smoothly. Thank you, whiteface hollow, for such a wonderful wedding + reception for our niece and nephew! ----- ----- -----
