Salmon lunch
Virginia B.

First time for a lunch at Kanki in Crabtree mall. I was seated in the sushi section and the waiter came to deliver a menu quickly. It took awhile for him to come back and take my order but it did come out in a reasonable amount of time and was hot and delicious. I had salmon, rice and roasted vegetables. Not near as fun as the table where they cook it in front of you but it was a good meal.

Hair found in food

Ordered online, found hair in my food contacted restaurant spoke with manager he requested pictures and didn't respond. I don't recommend eating at this location

Kanki's website not working

Ordered dinner at 5:53 pm. Server informed that it would take 25 mins. Completed the order and she was to call when ready. By 6:35 as I haven't received a phone call yet I returned to the restaurant. Takeout server was talking to the hosts and doing other things. By 6:42 I was ready to go. I approached the server and asked how much longer, only to find out I had been looking at my order on the counter while waiting. Server never once apologized for missing my order and calling me nor to make another fresh meal. Manager needs to obviously assist the young lady who seemed to be overwhelmed y her tasks. Not happy paying $34 for a Luke warm dinner. Server's lack of service proper service and lack of etiquette was disappointing. Think twice before dealing with this young lady. 3-18-2026 order placed at 5:53 and food received at 6:44pm for managers review

I was at the bar on a Monday evening. I enjoyed the Sparking Sake and pan-fried dumplings. My bartender that evening was Robert who was amazing. I enjoyed my experience here.

Chef's choice sushi and sashimi dinner
Mae M.

Visited on a Wednesday around 7:30pm & there were still so many people and parking was nearly full. We just sat at the sushi bar area so we were able to get service faster than the others. Ordered the chef's choice sushi and sashimi dinner. Sister and I shared the platter. It may not look a lot but I thought it was good for the price & surprisingly filling for the both of us. We obviously were unable to choose which sashimi we wanted. It came with a choice of soup and salad. Both were great! Also had an extra order of mackerel sashimi with a side of steamed white rice. I thought the pieces were a tad bit too thick, but it was okay. Taste was excellent though! Ordered a cosmopolitan martini. It was very good, but it was our first time ordering one so we have nothing to compare it to. Initially, we did had to wait quite a bit to get our order in, but overall we had a great time!

Veggie tofu with double ginger sauce

Food was delicious! The service from all staff 5 stars. The ambiance is chill. It's a fun to have a personal chef cook your food for you. I ordered veggie tofu cooked without butter/ and fried rice cooked without eggs. cooked in the back for vegan dishes. It was sooooo delicious If you are Vegan you CAN have a Vegan meal here!!!

Shrimp habachi!
Jennifer H.

Respected professional friend suggested coming here for lunch today. We entered from the lower level of the parking deck and were greeted upon entry and seated ourselves. Our server was attentive and capped off our drinks without asking. There was lunch menu and also a sushi menu but I can't resist habachi shrimp! I opted for a salad with ginger dressing which hit the spot! The food was delicious and enough to bring a to go box home with me! It was not super busy which allowed for a quiet atmosphere where we were able to have great conversation with no distractions! Thank you for a nice lunch and a second meal!

I usually really like this location. However on this visit, the service was slow and the sushi wasn't the best. We waited almost 10 mins to get our drinks. We ordered calamari and it came out cold. We did have an amazing chef though and the hibachi was good.

Service was great and the food was delicious! We love the show as well. I loved their fried rice, it's amazing!

Kanki is a great hibachi grill/ sushi bar type of restaurant. They're many Japanese eatery here in Raleigh, NC. We like this place because the staff are friendly, courteous, well manicured. It's a nice place to take your partner out for a Saturday afternoon snack. They have lunch specials, take out and pick ups. Schedule ahead for live cooking entertainment hibachi for the whole family. I like it and price is reasonable. Parking is a challenge since it's located right at the best mall in Raleigh...Crabtree Mall. Go check it out if that's what's your craving for today.

"Rice dinner" that's supposed to be two meats

The food is good but when you order to go you get a plate of rice. The meat is pretty much nonexistent for $32 which is a total rip off. You do get a little more meat when you dine in but that shouldn't be the case.

Lamb chops

Disrespectful food and poor management ... ordered the lamp chop lollipops to go only to get home to see the lamb chops in my plate were laughable except I was extremely upset being I was now 30+ miles away from the restaurant. I called and spoke to a manager who told me oh well can't do anything unless I bring the food back, even after saying I'm home 30 miles away this manager expected me to drive 60+ miles round trip to bring the food back .. for them to do what with it? I offered to send a picture if he thought I was lying but he wouldn't budge. I've also reached out to their general feedback form and haven't heard anything so they clearly don't care. I won't be back.

I recently enjoyed Sunday lunch with friends and didn't want it to end after enjoying our dining experience at Kanki. This location is perfect because you can shop before or after you eat at Crabtree Valley Mall. You have several options for seating for dining (by the bar, at the sushi bar, etc) but we choose to sit at one of their Tepanyaki Tables to watch them prepare our food right before our eyes. Although we had a noon reservation, our party of four had to wait for a family of five so they could have a full table. Our drink ordered were taken followed by our food order. Since it's the holidays, we opted to try their seasonal Snowball cocktail. It reminded me of a non frozen pina colada. I enjoyed it! There is something for everyone on the menu from appetizers, sushi and of course Hibachi options. Everything was fresh and flavorful and filling (portions are plentiful) . No room to eat it all, no problem, you can pack up any leftovers to go! But if you can --save room for dessert--the snickers pie is so delicious!

The service was top notch as well. All of the wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and took care of our large group well. I started with the Old Fashioned Flight, with their Aged Old Fashioned, one with Old Forester 1920, and one with Buffalo Trace that they said was their restaurants pick. The first 2 were really good, but I think they gave me the wrong drink, because the one with BT didn't taste like it had any bourbon in it at all. But the waiter switched it out for me with a Tequila OF, which was really good. They brought out two salads for the table, and their Cesar Salad was really good, the dressing was so good. I ordered the Australian Lamb Chops, which were amazing. Simply seasoned, but done so well. I ordered a side of Chimichurri sauce, and it was not needed at all. My wife had the meatloaf, which was delicious, and the group all enjoyed their meals and drinks. We left full and happy. I definitely recommend you add this place to you list if you've never been.

It has always been a dream of mine to eat a beef welly, and Oak did an amazing job! It was delicious and cooked exactly to my temp preference. For appetizers, we got the rolls and the oysters rockefeller, and honestly, the oysters were 10000000% worth it. If I could come back on a oyster day (if they ever decide to do a special on these), I would come back and order at least 8! Note: the menu serves the oysters rockefeller PER OYSTER, so FYI. Worth the price though!! For our entrees, I got the beef wellington and hubby got the steak and frites. The only thing that disappointed us of our experience was the frites. We did not taste any hint of bone marrow, so we would not recommend this side compared to the others. Our server was super friendly and was able to give exact pricing on everything on the menu that is current market price. The entire staff even provided a complimentary dessert for my birthday. It was a cookie butter cheesecake/pudding and it was delicious! If I had to rate all my dishes, #1 would be the oysters rockefeller, #2 is the dessert, and #3 is the beef wellington. 7/10 - would HIGHLY recommend for date night or celebrating a special day, but do not get the bone marrow frites!!

Elegant, Ambient and too sweet (3.5 star)…read more I came here for work meeting and had prefix menus so my experience may be different from others. Venue: it is good sized venue, ambient and has upscale elegant - classic theater type of look. Went to the small room area in the back to the left past the kitchen. Food: I have tried crab shrimp bisque, cheese steak roll, calamari, NY steak and cheese cake. The shrimp bisque was good but I've had better- for example near by Capital grill and definitely not closed to any of the bisque at fisherman's wharf. But you know what, when I got chunk of crab and shrimp I started to change my mind that it was getting pretty good. Cheese steak roll was pretty good but real rich. Calamari had good flavor but extremely sweet. The whole table agreed that there was unnecessary amount of sugar in there. Steak was nice and thick- however it would've been better if it had more salt and seasoning. The steak was cooked perfect medium rare. Texture was soft but I was slightly suspicious of meat tenderizer in there. Just a thought. Cheese cake was good but again, I've had better. Service: service was good. Although since it was table size to acclimate a party - everyone was attentive. Price: in my opinion it is overpriced. I.usually put price insight in the beginning but I am giving my insight on this last because- overall the experience and food was good. However, for the price to the whole experience ratio is not worth it for me to come back.

The service is always fun and i enjoy the open atmosphere. This Belgian-inspired brasserie continues to be one of my go-to destinations for great food, craft beer, and one of the best Painkillers in town. My must-order dish is always the crispy beer-battered pollock paired with their perfectly seasoned truffle fries. The fish is light, flaky, and fried to golden perfection, but the real star might be their housemade tartar sauce--it's absolutely addictive. A few other standouts from our table included: Savory risotto topped with seared shrimp and blistered tomatoes The NRBC Juicy Burger loaded with onion straws and beer cheese Every dish was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this spot remains a local favorite. The first thing we noticed as walked in was how warm the place was. They have an open kitchen which is generating heat. They didn't seem to have central AC. They did have one wall mounted AC which was nowhere enough to cool down the place during peak summer days. We almost decided to leave and go elsewhere but we sat down. We got the following: Grilled Caesar salad was pretty decent for what it was. Duck Poutine was quite underwhelming. It was pretty cheese fries with duck on it. Not quite the typical poutine that also has gravy on it. Blood Orange Crème Brulee was my favorite item of the three we had. You could taste the blood orange in the crème brulee which was amazing. The portion could have been a big larger. I was expecting it to be in a small coffee cup. I could have had another one easily. All in over an average experience. Not sure if I will go back!

Some items on the menu might put you out of your comfort zone but I highly encourage you to do so because my favorite dish was the beef tartare. It's what I heard was "the item" to get here, and they were right. By far the best beef tartare I've ever had. On top of the quality of food, you can easily fill up on small plates for a pretty reasonable price! I was pleasantly shocked at how much food came with each plate.
