(I Had winter tires installed at Hansons after having them shipped there from blackcircles.ca)…read moreI am Absolutely appalled and embarrassed by the complete and utter lack of respect / care / skill / honesty , and integrity of the service I received !! *Please note - I have spoken to the owner to try and rectify this situation, and he refuses to take any accountability whatsoever . The next time I drove following my appointment , I noticed I had 4 missing wheel bolt caps covers . I then examined each of my wheels ,and the bolt caps remaining were all damaged and cracked around the edges . Next thing I noticed was the centre caps for 2 of my wheels had also been broken. Both of them were barely on and sticking out ,and when I removed them saw that the clips that secure them to the wheel had been broken and the insides were warped . He claimed I'm a liar ,and said he is not responsible for anything broken or missing that he worked on . I can guarantee all parts prior to my service were there and not damaged . I will add that one of the tires came In with a spare ,and when surrendering over the keys and wheel lock ,the 4 wheel bolt caps belonging to that tires wheels were placed into his hands . I asked for him to replace the missing and broken parts for me , and he flat out refused . I then rightfully let him know I will be leaving a review that will accurately reflect my experience , and that I should also communicate on Facebook letting people know if they plan on going there ,to take photos of their vehicle before in case they end up in a situation like myself . Henry , I recommend you read the customer service mantra on your website and make some adjustments because you do not practice what you preach . There is no need to reply to my review unless you would like me to send you the invoice for the replacement parts. I think I've said everything that needs be be addressed . Thanks

Lost a hubcap the day after on a road trip and they're unwilling to make it right. Upon checking the rest, there was one other hubcap that wasn't totally snug. Also checked the tire pressures which should be 80 rear, 65 front and after swapping the tires they didn't bother to check the inflation. Not good at all.

Told Andy the service writer that I was confident it was a flex pipe leak, and if they could take a quick look at it to see if they could repair it. Andy said they could not look at my vehicle as they were already booked for that morning. This is fine. I booked an appointment for Tuesday morning at 8am. I stressed to Andy that my vehicle is a delivery vehicle and that I would need to be out of the shop by 10am or I would not be able to work. He said that was not a problem. On Tuesday, I went to Knowles Exhaust. They took my vehicle and put it up on a hoist. Inspected the exhaust system but the tech could not locate the leak, saying it was either the manifold or the flex pipe. The owner/manager told him to leave it for the moment. Another customer had come into the shop with a complaint regarding a hitch install completed by Knowles Exhaust a few weeks prior. The tech went and worked on this customers car, leaving my vehicle on the hoist, unattended to for more than an hour. Once the owner/manager went and looked at my vehicle, he immediately said it was the flex pipe that was cracked (I had already told them this the day prior, not sure why it took two hours and three different techs to come to the same conclusion). Andy quoted me a price for repair exceeding $550. He said that they could not just cut out or repair the flex pipe portion, that the entire length of pipe would need to be replaced including the catalytic converter. I made and appointment for Wednesday morning as it was already close to 10am and had to leave for work. I called around to a few competing muffler shops. I had the repair conducted by another shop, where they cut the flex portion of the pipe out and replaced it, without having to replace the entire length of exhaust pipe including the catalytic converter. Total price for repair including labour and taxes $220. Not only had Knowles Exhaust disregarded my knowledge of my vehicle, they also disrespected my time. They attempted to sell me an unwarranted repair as well. I drive 120,000 kilometers annually and spend a fair bit of money on vehicle upkeep and repairs, none of which will ever go to Knowles Exhaust.

That's $132 per hour shop time. $22 for a fuse; goodwill: priceless.

Franco's Auto Service has been in Kamloops for, well, as long as i can remember and arguably the most respected independent auto service business in Kamloops. Franco's unofficially specializes in the higher end European and Japanese vehicles but don't worry he will work on your POS as well :P Franco is one of those old school European trades people, he takes his craft and reputation VERY seriously. An ex-Ferrari race mechanic (yea, no kidding!); although, he has long since stopped turning wrenches himself and has focused on running his business. I understand that Franco expects the same pride in their craft of his technicians as he has, thus they are among the best in Kamloops. Francos' boasts very clean, bright and organized facility... I don't think eating off the floor would be recommended, but you probably could, safely. A full service shop, from oil changes in your Ford Focus to replacing the transmission in your 5 series BMW, at rates that are better than the dealer. Aside to the service, Franco does deal in used vehicles to a minor degree (usually 1/2 dozen vehicles at a time), offering mostly VW and Honda. These cars are generally in very good shape, thus not cheap used, but quality used.

BMW was closed and these guys helped us with a low engine coolant and a pressure check to ensure that we would make it back to Vancouver. Amazing service for a last minute call. We spoke to some locals after dropping the vehicle off and they all spoke so highly of them. On our return they showed us that we also needed to check the turbo engine coolant. Taking time to educate us on busy Saturday. Thank you guys.
