Our experience was overall really disheartening. We began working with Stephanie, Kami's daughter and were really excited to work together as we were moving to a new place. However, we assumed that Stephanie would provide us with an overview of the process with timelines and what to expect in order to work with our move-in goals. She never provided any sense of targets or timelines, which left us unsure how things worked, when we were supposed to reach out to her, and when we should expect to receive mock ups of designs/options. There was overall really poor communication and we tried to address this. Eventually, at some point, she decided that we were not a good fit as client and designer and even mentioned she had a feeling this would not work the moment she stepped into our home originally. In that case, we wish she would have told us that earlier instead of bringing us on somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. We later got some very harsh and cold emails from Kami accusing us of sending bad checks, when in reality, our materials had gotten mixed up as we were moving, and would have been able to rectify things if they had communicated properly with us when we first sent over the payments. Honestly, just looking at the way she responds to comments on Yelp (in addition to her communication over email) shows how she lacks professionalism and basic empathy. Perhaps, we just had a bad experience, but I'm honestly not sure if this is a super friendly business for people of color, particularly with a desire to integrate some of their cultural elements into the design, or for people new to the interior design process. read more

Can't comment on design but she definitely lacks professionalism. Had been in contact with Kami via email for over a month and never showed up two different times. When she did finally show up was told she would get back to us by email in about a week with more information about the project and never heard back from her. If you're an adult with a business you would think one would have the decency to at least get back to a potential client and let them know she wouldn't be able to work with you. I found her flaky and her actions were adolescent. read more

Agree with the other person who gave a one star review, my experience was almost identical. I was waiting on a proposal for weeks, Kami over promised and didn't deliver. She did have the decency to finally email me saying that she was slammed and didn't want to string me along anymore and that she understood if I moved on. read more

Kami is a real find! I got a new job a few years ago, and I hired her to go through my closet. She gave me honest feedback about what I needed to purge, and what was flattering on me...and I felt like I could really trust her! Then, we went shopping together. It was an outstanding experience, because while I love shopping, I tend to buy the "wrong" things, and I usually end up feeling completely frustrated! But, with Kami, I felt energized, inspired, and truly confident! I receive compliments galore on my outfits and accessories now, and I even get asked if I've lost weight (no, but thank you)! Kami herself is warm and friendly, and she really knows her stuff! Plus, she LISTENS and doesn't push you into wearing or trying anything that doesn't feel like "you" (I've had that experience before). Kami is fantastic. I didn't have time for shopping and my wardrobe showed it. Kami has a great eye and she pulled all the pieces together. All I had to do was show up and try everything on, which only took a couple of hours. So, in the amount of time that I might wander aimlessly around the mall, we had picked an entire wardrobe of 30 mix and match pieces. As a side note, I am very tall and usually have difficulty finding clothing and shoes that fit. Somehow she pulled it off. I highly recommend Kami's styling/shopping services. I received a gift certificate from my husband for Kami's personal shopping and wardrobe consulting services. It was the best gift ever! Kami helped me go through my closet and organize it and get rid of stuff. We went shopping where she picked out fabulous stuff to try on that was perfect for me. She then returned to my house and help me put my outfits together with the stuff I already had as well. She even helped me pick out all my outfits to pack for a trip I was going on. She also referred me to a hairstylist and had a make up consultant come to my home to work with me. I enjoyed every minute of it and people can't stop raving about what I change they notice. My husband and I recently came across a very large inheritance and were hoping to renovate our home rather than sell. We looked around and made an appointment with kami to go over things. She was going to come take a look at our home that we purchased a few years ago. My family and I waited around for her. We even cancelled our daughters tumbling class to meet her. 30 minutes later we received an email saying that she drove down our street and left because it was a dark street and was unfamiliar with the neighborhood so she didn't want to come knock and she blames it on growing up in lake Oswego. She never offered to meet another time. We would have been happy to meet her elsewhere. I understand, as I am a woman and would have felt uncomfortable going into someone's house after dark, whether it was in lake Oswego or anywhere else. I'm leaving this as feedback because I wish she would have handled it a little differently. I was a little offended and felt it was unprofessional. I had a shopping trip with Kami and highly recommend her services! Kami and I talked about budget, what my style is and what I was looking for before we met. She had a several places in mind for us to shop at, and she pulled lots of pieces for me. Kami is fast and efficient when taking you through the racks. She is very collaborative, but also gently encourages you to try things you might not otherwise pick up. I got a mix of classic things, accessories, and a few more current/on trend pieces that fit in with other things I already own. Kami is really friendly and easy to talk to, and she is very chic and stylish without being unapproachable. She is a stickler for clothing fitting properly and flattering your figure, and helps you find the pieces that are right for you. Kami helped me look more stylish and put together, and because she emphasizes fit, everything I got really works/feels efortless. It is easy to look put together when the clothing you own is cut in a way that suits your figure. Kami is all about value, whether that is an inexpensive/trendy piece, or a classic investment piece.
