Having…read morerecently gotten through two stressful renovation projects on my other home, I did not relish the thought of beginning another one and, after losing my spouse to illness earlier in the year, I was already in a rough place. All this to say, I started my search for a designer with a dream for my space, but also with a heavy heart and a substantial amount of dread. I discovered Space Reimagined through a Google search and was immediately drawn to the professionalism of the website and the beautiful project photos. Jackie returned my call to inquire the same day, and put me at east right away with her friendliness, competence, and confidence. After a lovely a phone conversation, followed by a visit to my home to tour the space, I knew in my heart that I'd lucked into something wonderful. From literally day one through the final walk-through, Jackie made me feel completely taken care of. Her knowledge of the industry, exemplary taste, and deep commitment to my comfort with every decision never wavered. She truly listened to me, spent countless hours talking me through each step, and continuously impressed me with her ability to keep straight the countless details a full-house remodel entails. Jackie's communication skills are exemplary. She provided me with updates almost every day and held fast to the timeline she set early on. Throughout the several months we worked together, there was never a challenge that arose that Jackie wasn't right on top of. Projects of this size inevitably have their twists and turns, but Jackie was always one step ahead with a solution (sometimes more than one!) Throughout the project, Jackie remained incredibly accessible. She made time for my questions and ensured that I had I had all the information needed to inform each decision. I could go on and on, but the end result is that I am overjoyed with my newly remodeled home and truly feel that discovering Space Reimagined was the best thing to happen to me in 2023. I would recommend Jackie without reservation to anyone considering a project of any size, and (almost) feel sad my home is complete, because it means my time with Jackie is over! If you are remotely on the fence with the decision of who to go with for your home, let this be your sign. Jackie is wonderful, and I can not sing her praises highly enough. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

So we went on the search for design assistance, and found Leela & Alissa just in time. Honestly, we would have made one hundred thousand million mistakes without them. For example... (1) We would have designed a kitchen with an oven door that would not fully open (2) We would have had tile installed that was not symmetrical (3) We would have selected dark mahogany floors AND HATED THEM I mean the list goes on, but I feel like those examples show the detail that goes into functional interior design. It's not all pillows and light fixtures here people, these ladies have architectural experience to guide on the topics that you would have had no clue about until after the fact. When they stare you glaringly in the face every day and irritate you to no end. It's important to acknowledge that most builders and most subcontractors really don't care about the details and the over functionality of the design. Which is why when you get into massive home design projects it's key to have a guru who is paying attention to these details. I fully believe that Alissa & Leela are capable of tackling any style, however they really excel at successfully achieving a contemporary modern aesthetic. Which is a perfect fit for us because that's also what we love. So the conversations felt natural and felt mostly easy, and the special touches they suggested were right up our alley. More examples... (1) Concrete poured mantle (2) Cabinet doors for the AV console that are slated walnut (3) A beautiful waterfall white quartz island in the kitchen (4) A low shelf in the kitchen for displaying every day plates, glasses etc (5) Gorgeous custom entry wall paper that is a map of my hometown Their approach is unique. Thoughtful. Clean. Practical. And more than anything, very personal. They actively listened and ultimately helped us build a modern marvel! We are incredibly grateful that we found them when we did.

I wanted to hire someone to meet with me in the space, bounce some ideas, advise me on what was realistic, etc. I was willing and able to pay a high hourly rate for this service. I was also, separately looking for someone to come advise me on color flow throughout the house. Although they did respond to messages and provide another recommended outside designer, I was turned away from getting a consult because we weren't a good fit. They wouldn't send someone to do a consult with me! As an artistic service professional myself, I can read between those lines and I was really put off by the experience. The company has a beautiful portfolio, but apparently do not want to service a smaller residential customer who doesn't have a personal connection or in with them. I can respect "not a fit" but felt it was used as a line with me - boo!

FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE…read more What an absolute honor it has been to work with Allison Smith Design again. A few months ago, we purchased a vacation home in Scottsdale, AZ. We knew exactly who we would trust to remodel and transform our dated 1980's home into a modern & inviting sanctuary with an artisan feel. Part of the creative process was sharing my inspiration boards with Allison which allowed her to create a space that reflects and embodies our personality and taste. The architectural revisions she made in the kitchen really opened up the space and provided the open concept we were looking for. Her ability to solve problems when issues arose was quick, effective and intuitive. We absolutely love all the materials, colors, textures and finishes that Allison chose. The combination of the neutral travertine floors against the rich grey cabinets is stunning. The stark white walls allow the dark beams in the ceiling to be the star player. Her attention to detail throughout the home from the paint colors, lighting, window treatments, plumbing fixtures down to the hardware, every detail was meticulously selected to achieve a cohesive, stimulating and inviting space. Allison reinvigorated our home with all new furniture. The combination of supple leathers, textured fabrics, rich woods and unique statement pieces that really give the home an artisan flair. It's not just inside that counts, she also brought life to our outdoor space by creating a serene oasis for us to escape and relax. Allison and her team are incredibly responsive, truly talented, friendly and dedicated to giving their clients not only a beautiful home but a wonderful experience while creating it. I highly recommend Allison Smith Design.

She looked at the place, we agreed to do business and then we met at a tile shop to go over materials. There were a variety of missteps, including the tile selection, but the most inconvenient was that for the countertop she recommended a style of quartz that, as it turned out, was sold only in large slabs. We needed a small piece. Most of what the store offered came only in large slabs. When time was of the essence because of the contractor's schedule, we ended up going to a remnant dealer and making a selection from what was on hand. Overall, Karen showed a lack of attention to detail and seemed to disregard the financial "allowances" set by our contractor. I'd have posted this review sooner, but did not know she was on Yelp.
