Kale Me Crazy is the restaurant I parked in front of to get to a Yelp Event. I noticed how busy it was with folks coming in and out so decided to check it out while I was there. It is located in the Village District with parking available right up front. When I was there there was plenty of parking spaces but that might vary on the time of day. I was greeted when I walked inside and ordered the Poke Bowl. It was a good size and full of fresh ingredients. The order was made fairly quickly. I have ordered for the first time through DoorDash today. I get the vegan wrap, the quinoa bowl, and the charcoal lemonade. As I bit into the wrap I noticed a long strand of grayish hair and I pulled it out of the wrap just to be sure this is actually a hair and to my surprise it was! It's pulled through the wrap and I'm disgusted and it's not mine because I have black curly hair jic someone tries to say it's mine. I didn't fuss too much but I wanted to go directly to the business to let them know about this so no one else would have this issue. I called a lady with a strong accent answered so I told her hey I had this long gray hair in my wrap I pulled it out as I was eating etc. the next thing I heard was click. She hung up on me! I stopped in today to try Kale Me Crazy for lunch. I decided to try the Super Matcha and it was really refreshing and delicious. It was expensive for the amount of smoothie you get but because all of the ingredients are organic I understand why this would be the case. The employees were friendly and the place was clean. I found myself in the area and decided to give this place a try. Just "OK" sums up my experience. On the one hand -- I like the concept. And I'm glad that the Raleigh area has some healthy food options available. But I think execution is a bit lacking here -- and things are overpriced for what you get. I ordered the Quinoa Bowl. I read the menu too quickly and without realizing it came with avocado (which is typically listed as an add-on along with typical protein choices). So at first I was paying $2 extra to add the avocado before I wisened up and had them remove that charge because I didn't need to add that on myself. I felt like the cashier should have known that and told me herself. But I am glad I caught it before my dish was completed. Anyway, the quinoa bowl with the lemon vinaigrette tastes OK. Not the best salad you've ever had. But it's definitely decent. The only problem is that it does not really taste like an entree salad. I can't quite put my finger on it -- but its flavor profile is better suited to being a side salad (perhaps served with a piece of salmon or something like that) than being the star of a one-man show. Also, the portion size is a bit small for the price. You are left feeling like you should have gotten a bit more. All in all, this place gets a solid 3 stars. Decent but not spectacular fare in a healthy, fast casual atmosphere. read more

I'm always looking for a new smoothie spot and luckily found this one right before I gave up to go to my usual one. I'm so glad I did! The girl working was super sweet and helpful when I placed my order. I went with the Recharge with some lemon and loved it! It tasted great! It did have a slightly chalky taste, but that's given with protein powder. It was ~$10 for my smoothie. A bit pricy, but great tasting so it's worth it to me. Loved my whole experience at Kale Me Crazy! The food is superb! It's fresh, nutritious and hearty! The staff was friendly and was well-equipped to serve the great fare! The Recovery smoothie and the chicken pesto wrap with sundried tomatoes on gluten-free were a great balance! My husband doesn't like vegetables. However, he loved his chicken wrap. The ambiance had a cool vibe and the restaurant felt welcoming. All in all, just wish there was a Cary location. I would probably go there once or twice a week! I went into Kale Me Crazy today and "tried" to order two smoothies. First off, the girl taking the order did not speak English. I had to point to the smoothies on the board and she still got it wrong. On my smoothie, I added a shot of espresso and my daughter's we left out the apple. We have these weekly for years. Once we finally got them we both knew they were wrong. My daughter's tasted like grass and mine was straight peanut butter. I brought them both in and asked to have them remade or refunded. The same girl, repeated "no speak English" and pulled up translator app on her phone for me to speak into. I spoke that they tasted horrible and to remake or refund. She made a phone call to someone who later I found out was the owner. They spoke Spanish and then handed me her phone. I was told they would not remake the smoothie since I altered the smoothie by adding an ingredient and she would not refund due to same reason. We're talking 23.00 here and she didn't want to make it right! Her girl working couldn't speak English or read English. Did it ever occur to her that her employee didn't make the smoothies correctly because she can't read what's in them? I asked who was the owner and she said it was her and I reiterated that I wanted a refund and she said policy is no remake or refund. I said "you lost my business". This place has a sign on the door looking to Hire people. The two girls in there don't speak a lick of Spanish and made my smoothies wrong and the owner didn't make it right. Unbelievable. I'll never go there again. I advise anyone to stay away too. read more

I like to come here in the morning to get my latte, they never open on time. The staff is highly unprofessional, during business hours around 8:15 ( they open at 8) I was seen standing at the door while an employee was looking at me directly in my eyes. She did not unlock the doors and continued to just look at me as if they were closed . This is the 3rd time this happened. The food is pretty good but over priced. My main issue with this restaurant is the time it takes for them to make your smoothie/food. It's usually not ready for 20 minutes after the pick up time on the online order and if you place your order in the store you'll probably wait 45 minutes for a smoothie.
