    Complementary tom yum soup

Hubby and I finally tried out this place and I have to say, it was quite a nice surprise! They offered really unique dishes and it had a nice cozy vibe. Extra points for the 80s music! We had ordered the kale Caesar to share; for our mains we had the shish taouk and Korean fried chicken (KFC). Service was a tad slow considering when we arrived there was another couple there. We waited almost 25 minutes for our food to arrive. We had to ask the server to make it faster as we were on our lunch. break. Our friendly server gave us complimentary soup which was vegetarian tom yum. It was plain (just broth with some veggies) but we were grateful to have something to eat, keep our bellies warm. The kale salad was the best dish IMO. It was perfectly dressed, and the fried capers added a nice salty pop to it. It was quite substantial, too. Had we known we would've just ordered the salad and the KFC. The KFC was huge! We only ate two pieces of chicken and brought the rest home (it came with three pieces). The chicken pieces were crunchy yet nicely glazed with the sweet and spicy sauce. The coleslaw was very tasty, too! I would definitely order both dishes again. The shish taouk plate was a bit disappointing. For the price ($16), it was quite small. It came with some pieces of grilled chicken, hummus and half a pita. All the elements were good but the portion was small; doesn't look like a main plate. We wanted to try the sliders but they weren't available that day. Their menu looks interesting so we will be going back again soon.

This is a new restaurant located in the west island , the menu is definitely something new and exciting. The first time we went we had an amazing time , the staff was beyond accommodating and very excited to be working there! And I think that is so Important! They have an open kitchen concept and who doesn't love that?! Its very clean and well decorated. The food.. I dont even know where to start. The first time we went we had a bunch of different things and the ones that really stuck with me was the thai jumbo shrimps , the kale salad & the thai chicken! It's what made me come back! And this time around we tried the short rib and that was out of this world!! , the drink menu is also so fun however I wanted an old fashioned and they didn't have bitters BUT that didn't stop them from making the most delicious old fashioned ever! I highly recommend this place it's fun, young & most importantly delicious food! They have amazing choices for vegan on their menu it's a ying yang kinda world

That said, we didn't expect much from this place, but I was pleasantly surprised. Gamja tang which is the potato pork bone stew was on point. I had the soontubu which is the soft tofu stew. Enjoyed it. Kids had the spicy chicken and pork, and all were flavorful. The only dish that didn't meet expectations is the jajangmein. It tasted like a gravy hamburger pasta with no trace of jajang sauce. Btw, felt bad because service was great but I thought tip was included thinking tps meant tip. It doesn't. Sorry guys.

Since I was with friends who have been before I followed their lead in ordering a number of different platters to share which was truly the way to go. Everything was absolutely delicious! The sticky rice, noodles, japche, and three types of chicken were amazing (the spicy chicken being the best). Although the noise level was pretty loud, the food and service made up for it. They kept a close watch and came by regularly to fill our water glasses! The owner was right in there as well walking, serving, making sure everyone was taken care of. To top off the meal we had his Yuzu tea (hope I spelled that right) which just amazing. I'm definitely going back! :)

We were told to sit anywhere. The waitress and waiter were not friendly nor made themselves seen. We ordered the Cantonese chow mein -which had mostly noodles and was limited in the amount of shrimp and chicken . This dish was good. My wife order the teriyaki chicken which comes with spring roll, white rice ,salad , and 4 teriyaki chicken skewers. The chicken was over cooked and was not eatable. The spring roll was to crispy (over fried ) and the filling was dried out. They brought one plum which the outside was sticky. I ordered the Shenzhen shrimp meal . It came with a salad , white rice and Shenzhen shrimp. The shrimp were nice size and was not fried . The dish overall was good. The waiter finally came after 15 minutes to see if wanted anything else. We told him the chicken was over cooked and uneatable 3.5 skewers left on plate . He said ok and walked away . He returned with our bill totally playing stupid in not understanding what we were talking about. My wife was still hungry as her main meal the chicken was unbeatable - they did not care and told me that it fresh chicken . Bottom line that the service was bad and the food other then the chicken was good. Sorry but when you challenge a customer on his dissatisfaction of your product clearly you do not listen nor care . We would have given them a second chance but their bad attitude does not warrant us for a retry . For the record we did not want anything free but to at least offer to replace the chicken ....

I was a regular at Soupebol when they were located on St-Jean but hadn't been in a while, a craving…read morefor their Japanese curry chicken brought me to finally try them at their new location, unfortunately it left me disappointed. The new location is fine, but very open and in the winter, drafty and cold. I had the Japanese curry chicken and it was nowhere near as good as it used to be. The sauce was overly thin and lacked flavor. The fried vegetable rolls were decent but getting a package of pre-made generic plum sauce in a restaurant shows the lack of effort that was apparent for the whole visit. The rice paper rolls with peanut sauce were decent and the soup was basically broth with a few rice noodles and green onions, hardly qualifies as a soup. The service was also lacking, the waiter seemed unhappy to be there and did the bare minimum without daring to crack a smile. This restaurant does not warrant another visit, too bad, it used to be a sure bet.
