My husband and I visited this restaurant for our anniversary, we had a reservation and were seated immediately after arriving. The restaurant is beautiful, clean, spacious, inviting. The food was all delicious! We had oysters, and the ceviche as a start, which was perfect, and grilled red snapper and octopus as the entree, both were so good. The guava dessert was the cherry on top to an amazing dinner. Our server Santi was spot on with recommendations, great customer service and timing. The prices and servings were both reasonable, overall we had a great experience and will definitely be returning.

Kala is a promising new Baja-Mediterranean restaurant created by three chefs, Carlos Gaytan, Mikel Alonso and Jonathan Gomez with Michelin stars background. The food is eclectic with a fusion inspired touch of a Baja California and Mexican flair. The menu is relatively limited with an emphasis on comfort food. The decor is modern sophisticated with some cool purple lighting at night. The concept is interesting as many students from Southwest University 's Culinary School are cooking providing them with real-time valuable restaurant experience. (I think that this is a very similar concept to L'ecole in Paris for culinary apprentices). Loved their guacamole & Qeso Feta, their Hummus and their Lobster Pasta that was fairly spicy ! Their 20 day Dry-Aged Ribeye was perfectly executed ($78). Service was a little bit on the chaotic side but the restaurant was super full. The menu for certain dishes is on the expensive side for El Paso. So, would love to see some more accessible dishes for students and our community. The food was solid comfort food but it is not at all comparable to a Michelin stars'restaurant. I do hope that this restaurant will expand its menu and fair better than Lola Rose. I plan to come back to provide a more encompassing review as this was a first visit. El Paso let's support this initiative and give our three chefs a graceful accolade and support them!

Went for an early Mother's day, took my significant other. Appetizer was a date stuffed with chorizo and wrapped with bacon...enough said! Service was amazing everything that was brought to the table was explained and served so politely. Drinks were on point. The main course were excellently presented and tasted even better. Desert was tasty and finished with a mazapan coffee dressed with crumbles of mazapan...to die for.

guacamole and pita bread with olives appetizer, with some interesting ingredients that made it more memorable, would easily order again.

The food is amazing but very small portions for the price. Service is phenomenal. Will not be back unfortunately.

Ambiance - Cute restaurant with appropriate decor. I loved the ceiling because of the different patterns and colors. It definitely made the atmosphere feel more homey. Service - Seems like there was only one server but he was very polite and attentive. Did in a great job especially with the amount of tables and people that were present. Food - Had the traditional combo and gyro wrap w/ chicken orzo soup. The fatayer was a really pleasant surprise and was probably the best thing off the traditional combo. Gyro wrap was fresh and well proportioned. My favorite was the chicken orzo soup! Will definitely be the soup I go for on a sick day. It's a little hidden but definitely worth the find. The food here has a different style than what you normally find in a mediterranean food, but interesting and delicious nonetheless. The traditional combo is a great way to try some of the more interesting items, but the fatayer and chicken orzo soup were standouts for me! Will be back to try other things.

He said the meat was incredibly flavorful and tender, but there was a bit too much veg for him. I thought it looked fine, but he's a little anti-lettuce :-) Since we were eating at home, I doctored up the tabouli a bit with extra lemon juice and garlic. It was delicious! The hummus was pretty good too. Portion sizes were incredible for the price, especially the sides. Honestly my only complaint and reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars was because the warm pita strips for the hummus were delivered in a tied off plastic bag, and the trapped steam made the bread a bit soggy. I understand it has to be hard to deliver certain foods - may just have to try them in-person sometime and give them a better shot!

Our waitress sat us where there was a high chair and it was just 2 of us with NO children. I asked her what she recommended because this was our first time there and she literally said well and just giggled and walked away. The menu is a dream for anyone who loves vegetarian or vegan options (there's no shortage here). I went with the veggie kebab, which was perfectly seasoned and felt light yet satisfying -- definitely on the healthier side, but not at all lacking in flavor. The real standout, though? The falafel. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere. The mint lemonade was also incredible -- super refreshing and just the right balance of sweet and tart. You can tell this kitchen knows its roots -- everything tastes thoughtfully balanced, not overcomplicated or trying too hard. It's the kind of food that reminds you simple ingredients can still have serious flavor. A great choice when you want something fresh, colorful, and comforting without feeling heavy.

Our server was amazing. From the moment we walked in until the end of our meal, the service was superb. Our server seated us and immediately brought water, menus, and a complimentary sample of hummus, which I love. I requested butternut squash soup, but they didn't have it that evening, so I ended up ordering the lobster bisque instead. My husband chose the mushroom chimichurri pasta. We also ordered two glasses of Madalena Cabernet Sauvignon to accompany our dishes. We didn't wait long before our meals arrived. My soup was delicious, featuring generous chunks of lobster, and it was served on a toasted slice of bread topped with crispy kale. As I wasn't very hungry, this was just the right portion for me. My husband had nothing but praise for his dish. Since we were celebrating, we also ordered dessert: their chocolate mousse tart. It was divine and paired well with the wine. I am sad to see such a unique place with seasonal menus close its doors, but I was excited to hear from our server that they have been bought out and will be returning in a month or two under a new name and remodeled store front, to bring new culinary delights to El Paso. I can't wait to try the new place once they open!

Our appetizer was absolutely delicious, I am still thinking about the whipped ricotta. Our meals were large, I definitely would say their meals are shareable as they're really large portions. Wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere, and not to mention the wonderful musician they had performing on Sunday.

Ashi is the heartbeat of the space. She's present, welcoming, and genuinely invested in every guest's experience in a way that's rare to find. The food speaks for itself. Huge compliments to the chef--this is truly authentic Persian cuisine, not a watered-down version. Every dish I ordered was to die for, from the seasoning to the balance of flavors. You can tell there's pride behind every plate. For the El Paso community, this place is something special. It brings a level of authenticity, warmth, and quality that's hard to come by. If you're lucky enough to visit, don't just go for the food--pay attention to the experience Ashi and her team create. That's what makes it unforgettable.
