Kaiyo's customer service is non-existent. They delivered me a lamp that I paid $106 for, but it arrived damaged, and so they took it back and get this, refunded me $8.70. The prices are awesome but note that they will NOT remove your old furniture and drop it at the curb for city sanitation removal. This was a huge inconvenience. In the middle of a pandemic I needed to find workers to do this. And, after I spent $150 for delivery of a couch and bookshelf... They told me they would take my old couch if ir was resell but that is absurd: why would I want a new couch if my old one was not trashed. I HIGHLY recommend Kaiyo. I scheduled a furniture pickup. Jesse and Osa were the assigned team. They were super polite, nice and wrapped the furniture with care. They also stayed masked the entire time and maintained a safe distance. They asked me a few times if I had any questions and explained how the furniture would be posted and sold. It is unfortunate that the company with a good mission, can not figure out a model of handling the business: delivery snd pick up. First time I have ordered the furniture pick up, the only time was given to me is in the afternoon 1-5, they arrived at 4:00, complained it was rain and traffic and got only few pieces out. I felt bad and was ok hoping that they come back another day to pick up the rest ...but NO the next appointment they gave me one week after. Pick up # 2 resulted, them coming again close to 5:00 and again picking up only few items, that left me with pick up date #3 (another week later) and on that pick up date, I received a call from a customer service from Kaiyo telling me that they won't be able to make it and have rescheduled again, not for the next day, but for next week pick up #4. What a waist of time... I have storage and can wait, but if I would have a move out, I would have a problem, now that I have a scheduled pick up date #4 for the same reminder of my furniture, there is no guarantee that the story will not repeat. Be careful with this company, they are pricing the furniture at very low cost and collect most of the profit. I do not recommend using them, or use them simultaneously with other companies or services if you need to dispose the furniture or in a rush, so whoever gets it first, gets it and you don't stuck talking to customer service all the time for 4 weeks, and they seems not have a problem resolution at all, just saying sorry... read more

A brand new office desk that was never used was "rejected" by Kaiyo. I received a message from them saying "because our service is free, and we're focused on keeping furniture out of landfills, we use technology to determine what to pick up based on item condition, brand, and current customer demand." The item condition is new, etc...so anyway, this is a very misleading service and I do not recommend anyone use it. I agree with the other reviewers as well that seem to have had similar experiences. The instant offer is probably a little less than my share if I were to wait for the items to sell on their platform but now I don't need to keep checking in on whether my pieces sell. I had probably the worst experience I could have imagined with this company. I had sent them all the details, dimensions, pictures, and the brand of the couch I was selling. They had accepted and approved the couch I had sent to them. The pickup was scheduled 1 day before I had planned to move to a new apartment, and agreed on for over 2 weeks. When they arrived, they told me it could not be picked up, because they did not accept this specific brand of furniture, even though the brand was known and agreed upon well in advance of pickup. This brand is listed on their website for sale from other sellers, so this claim was false. Now I am left to pay a company to dispose of this couch because it is too late to sell. If they are going to reject based on a brand name (which again, was known in advance) they should not be allowed to lie to customers about what they will do, and then leave them paying for removal. Absolutely do not use this service, you will actually lose money instead of making any!!!! read more

I was moved to write this review because of all the seemingly fake 5 star reviews. First, the website is not user-friendly at all. Second,no full description of the item (type of wood, is it leather, wool?) actual description of condition, etc. They claim pieces are washed and inspected but don't include this info?!) I even communicated with customer service and still, the person had no idea. She just looked at the photo (and not to mention photo quality is poor.) Third, they advertise as having luxury products that are curated but a lot of what's on the site is the lowest quality of furniture (gothic cabinet craft - really?) And pricing seems random - often if you look you can find the item on sale at the manufacturer for similar price! But new. They advertise themselves as better than Craigslist- but then they advertise the products on Craigslist! Do your research. Another annoyance is that the "sold" products are still listed. Not under a "sold" tab but within the listings. We get that you're trying to show credibility showing customers actually purchased but it's annoying to scroll through. I wanted to like this company. But until the above is addressed, and they have clear business practices and protocols, I'm afraid to take the chance. As others have noted - what happens if you don't think the item is a fit? What's the restocking fee? Delivery costs? Is it even worth it in the end to return after those are calculated in? The only attractive aspect is that a seller can get something picked up and sold without being involved IF you're willing to take a major hit on the profit. I am not a competitor. I am an Interested consumer and potential customer, that hopes these points are addressed. Once they are, I'll purchase bc I'm also an avid collector of preowned furniture. read more
