Because the so far came with such a good deal. The product I bought with has the condition of Like new, So I went through the website to make sure of the condition I expected. I also check out all the policies , including how to return the products and how much they charge for such a process. I booked the delivery date in advance and kaiyo gave me a 4-hour delivery window, which they made it on time. They sent me a notice through SMS 15 mins prior to their arrival as well, so I had enough time to prepare. The items arrived, and the staff brought it up to my apartment (building with elevator). They unwrapped it and were very friendly at any point when I wanted to examine the items. I looked through everything. Even the coffee table I bought with the condition 'gently used' looked like new-ish too. Very very pleased. Hope this review will help people make good decisions when it comes to saving and protecting the environment. read more

Ive used Kaiyo a few times and basically if you're buying something- its great. But if you're trying to sell something on Kaiyo its a ripoff. We bought a $3000 vintage sofa and tried to sell it back through them a few months later. You can either consign with them (only get paid if it sells), or they can give you a flat offer. They offered us $150 LOL for a $3,000 massive vintage sectional. Buying is great though. Ive gotten great deals on Vintage eames pieces for clients. Will never sell with them though. read more

Terrific experience! While our first "trial" order with Kaiyo wasn't without complications, the end result warrants a "five star" review. Needed a couch for my college aged older daughter's bedroom and buying "new full price" did not make any sense. Found an "excellent condition" sofa she liked and ordered it with expedited shipping. The day prior to our scheduled appointment, was notified that a leg on the supposedly "excellent" condition sofa was damaged. While the repair and the subsequent rescheduled delivery took another week+, in the end all is well. Couch overall is in the condition advertised; Kaiyo was extremely communicative and accommodating throughout the repair process, and the delivery crew was timely, friendly and careful. Starting the process with Kaiyo was smooth, pick up was good, the problem with Kaiyo is how you get paid- My experience: it took months after my items were sold, and I found out because I kept calling asking for info, then it took even longer to get information on getting paid, they use a third party "checkbook" that does not accept yahoo or g mails account??? Kaiyo made selling my large sofa bed a breeze. The selling process was super easy. All you have to do is submit a request to have your item picked up (you choose the pickup date) and within 24 hours you receive communication on whether or not the item was accepted. Instructions were very clear and the customer service was great about supplying a COI for my building management. On the day of delivery, I was given a 4-hour pickup window and received text notification when they were about 30 mins away. Paulo and Alfonso were very professional and courteous throughout the pickup and took the time to explain next steps (e.g. the selling/payment process). They were considerate throughout the entire pickup and were careful to not damage anything in my apartment or building. Overall, Kaiyo is a seamless way to sell furniture. Sad to say they are EXTREMELY picky about what items they choose to sell and will reject you for the slightest imperfection or discoloration (so if you've used any of the items you plan on selling at some point in your life, there's a strong chance they won't be accepted during the pick up process. Be ready for sadness unless you sit on a plastic wrapped couch. Including photos of the rejected items. If by mechanical issue you mean a human having difficulty pulling out a drawer on a shaggy rug, then I really question your review process. The drawer is fine and there's some scratches inside, but these are both in really great condition, at the very worst I'd describe as fair. Also including a picture of the sofa where you can see natural light highlighting different portions of the sofa. Because of the pattern I suppose it looks like we've a couple of colors going. I consigned several high-end, vintage pieces of furniture with Kaiyo from my grandmother's estate, needing to clear out her home quickly. Despite the low revenue share, I was okay with it because I believed Kaiyo would handle everything smoothly--- which they did, until a month ago. On July 9th, 2024, I cashed out for a sold item-- the revenue share was $64.98. I cashed out for a second sold item on July 18th, 2024-- the revenue share for this item was $686.36. I sent an email to Kaiyo on July 24th regarding the initial cash out, which was now outside the 7-10 business day window they promise. I received no response. Since I've never had an issue with Kaiyo customer service, I assumed my email had just been overlooked. So, I contacted them again on August 5th to inquire about the status of both cash outs. This time, I received a generic, copy-paste message that many others seem to have received, stating that they are experiencing delays with no timeline or clear explanation. I responded to this response that same evening, requesting more information and expressing my concern about the financial stability of the company. Today, August 6, I received the exact same copy-paste response they had sent the day before. In addition to the $700+ I'm owed, I also have $49.68 in my account waiting for cash out and one more piece of high-end, vintage furniture (initially purchased for over $900, currently listed for $227-- it seems all of the items on their site are deeply, deeply discounted at the moment, another red flag) still listed on their site. The delays and lack of transparency have left me deeply concerned, especially since they've now shut down their customer service phone line and are no longer accepting submissions for sales. This, coupled with vague responses and inability to provide a timeline, makes me seriously worry that Kaiyo might be going out of business. I'm left wondering if I will ever see the money I'm owed. If I do not receive a more detailed response from them in the next 48 hours, I plan on filing complaints with the BBB, the FTC, and the New York State Attorney General's Office. I am pleased to say I'm super happy with my KAIYO purchase of my first adult couch -- I ordered a $3,000 sectional for $596 and the notifications for scheduling everything and getting it delivered was so smooth. The delivery team with Jesse, Angelo, and Esteban was stellar, they were super helpful, friendly, and did a wonderful job! They were careful with wrapping and unwrapping the furniture and putting it in the space. They even let me know that I could have scheduled pick up for the same day to sell furniture back to KAIYO, which I will do next time we are looking to change out old furniture! I used Kaiyo in Orange County, California. It was great at first...they came and picked up a sectional sofa I needed to sell and I received a receipt when they picked up. At that time I was told that someone would contact me regarding the price, listing, etc. From that point on, I was never contacted once. I had to contact Kaiyo for any updates etc. They do explain that if the item doesn't sell that the price decreases, but what they don't tell you is that they will sell a $2,500.00 sofa and you get $180.00 They never contact you regarding any offers or major price drops on your furniture they are consigning for you. When I contacted them I was told and I quote "Oh we don't contact you when the price is dropped or when the item is put so low that you would rather have the item back to sell yourself or give to a friend or loved one. Don't waste your time. I went to sell a west elm couch with them and they literally mistook lint for unraveling. On their site, they talk about cleaning the product so "don't worry". I kindly called attention to something small that I had only just done, to be honest, and after they realized their mistake about the lint, they used this as the second excuse even after I had offered to clean it. Not to mention the fact that they have the exact same sofa on their website in way worse condition. Literally, the sofa they have online for more than $200 wouldn't even be something that you'd pick up if it was sitting on a curb. Don't waste your time. These people literally have no idea what they are doing and their lack of knowledge shows in their inability to accurately assess furniture. I think they have to much inventory and instead of being honest, they assume you (the seller) don't know good furniture so they make up lies. They then sent a follow-up on where I could donate the furniture. My gut is telling me that they expect you to donate it and they then cut you out of the equation. 100% profit for them. Crooks! Kaiyo delivered a couch and it looked ok. After the delivery crew left it became apparent that one of the legs on the couch was broken and they'd propped it just so that the couch appeared stable. Customer service has stated it will be 1-2 days before they can "escalate" the matter to find a solution. We moved from a house with a lot of built ins to one with none. We had an old dresser from West Elm but it wasn't enough space for both of us. I pondered the idea of having built ins made or finding a whole new piece that was larger, but then it dawned on me "just buy another matching one from West Elm and make it look meant to be". Low and behold, they no longer make it in the same color, but I was determined to go that route so started an online search for that second piece, and stumbled on Kaiyo. Apparently NYC focused, I was initially reluctant, esp when for shipping, it asked "walk up or elevator" and "doorman?"- clearly NYC local, and I lived in a single story house on the Left Coast. It was also befuddling that shipping delivery and set up was only $79, for a large heavy piece of furniture. After reading many reviews, I had decided to make the leap because the buyers raved (the sellers, not so much). I decided to close my eyes and jump, selecting a delivery date a few weeks out. Lo' and behold, I was contacted two days out reconfirming, the day before to give me a delivery window, and the day of when they were 45 minutes away. TLDR: Absolutely the worst furniture purchasing experience. I made a table purchase online on June 22, 2022. After contacting customer service to alert them that my NYC co-op doesn't allow deliveries before 9am, they immediately responded to my email as if I was trying to schedule a custom delivery window (absolutely the farthest thing from the truth). I offered to provide co-op documentation or whatever was needed to help them understand my community's rules (which only excluded 1 hour in the morning from their delivery window). This put a sour taste in my mouth from day 1. But this was not the end. The day of the delivery, the two man team respectfully called me ahead of time and brought up an exceedingly heavy table. Upon opening it in my unit, they realized it was the wrong table. (To be fair, the delivery crew was SO LOVELY. I felt bad seeing them sweat through an incorrect delivery.) Leaving with no information about what would be done, I called the company later. They informed me they could not locate the table I purchased and did not have an idea for when they would locate it. I had to press them to even refund me for the delivery fee (over two communications with them). They offered nothing without having to make them understand how much of an inconvenience and frustrating situation it was for me--having to schedule this appointment with kaiyo AND my co-op building on top of getting a COI, all to end up with no table and no resolution in site. A day or so later I received an email stating the team "located the table". A new delivery date was set for 2 weeks later. One day before the scheduled delivery I received an email labeled "URGENT" from Kaiyo customer service. They informed me they again could not find the table I had purchased. I'm not sure why they would have wrongly told me they found it, scheduled a delivery date, AND THEN the day before delivery told me they could not find the item. This is completely frustrating. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt to redeem their level of customer service and order fulfillment, but they have failed on all levels. Their current process for dealing with this situation is no way to retain and gain new customers. I can not recommend purchasing anything from them and will be sharing this very poor experience with my network, so they do not have to go through what I did. (I have not received the table as of 7/13/22 and have been told by the Kaiyo team that it's best I cancel my order for a refund.) read more

Our desk-for-sale pickup was scheduled on Kaiyo last week (Item ID: 527284) and was cancelled because the head of the pickup crew thought he couldn't fit it through the door of our apartment, although it was brought in to the apartment through the same door. I relisted it with AptDeco, and had a buyer within days who came last night and easily fit the desk out the door and took it home. When the crew was still considering taking the desk, I tipped each of them $20. When the order was cancelled, the younger crew member promptly gave me back my cash, but the senior member kept and left with it. Perhaps he felt since his time was valuable he deserved it, but I imagine my hourly rate is substantially higher than his and both of us had time wasted. read more

C'mon Kaiyo... Not credible or honest company at all, kudos for them for probably making a killing, hopefully they can get there act together and care about there customers sooner than later. Kaiyo did not and is not able to provide receipts for when, where, who to, or for HOW MUCH the items you had trusted them with are sold for. There is however an arbitrary number of funds that you can 'Cash out' of your account after a transaction is made. I had not been notified the items were sold at all. You will not be notified at all of your furniture being sold. Had I not logged into the 'User' account I would not have known they were sold at all and Kaiyo would have sold my items without me earning zilch. Using their cash out model, over time the ever decreasing % window the user receives from the sale they hope you don't check in at all. It took several months for items to sell at all 3+ months. Disappointing, I like the model, the execution is awful. @admin or owner, would be glad to discuss, please reach out. Still waiting on that receipt you all don't have. First and for most, this review is proof that Kaiyo's perseverance to having each customer completely satisfied. I purchased a "gently-used" sofa, and what arrived was a sofa with extreme wear and tear (2 holes with a diameter of 1- 1.5" on the reverse of the seat cushion), which was not seen in the online listing. Contrary to the raving reviews, I was very disappointed and wrote a review with 3-stars. Clearly, there may have been an oversight during the inspection phase when they inventoried the sofa, but customer reps Jake and Andrea, with the help of upper management were diligent in making everything right, again. I was informed that this was not a "typical" experience. Today, I received another "gently-used" sofa which is close to "like-new" or "excellent" with the exception of a couple of scuffs that can be buffed out with a leather cleaner. Frame was sturdy and the suspension was in great condition. After the delivery guys left the apartment, one returned with two additional sofa legs, saying that these came with the sofa and they weren't attached to the base frame (center) for additional support. I was extremely grateful, since I have a few friends (athletes) who exceed 240lbs and they could have sat and broken the frame if these legs weren't attached. He quickly attached the legs and the crew went on there merry way to their next destination. Thank you Kaiyo, for a job well done! The images of this sofa is true to the actual product. For a white dresser that I've had for 3 years, it was damn near in perfect condition - which both pick up men said. After assessing, they said they could take it. After moving it, they said they needed to contact dispatch but didn't tell me why. 5 minutes later I was told my furniture was "wobbly" and that dispatch is rejecting the order. I was very annoyed because I'm moving soon and needed this dresser gone (atp, I didn't care about getting $$ for it) so I asked the men to just put it out on the street for me because I live in NYC and I thought someone will want it. They wrapped the furniture and left (which my mother thought was odd if they were just carrying it to the street). When I went outside to take a photo for one of those free item FB groups, I noticed it was no longer there. After calling my husband, he said that I was pretty much scammed and that these men stole my furniture. This company is a waste of time. DO NOT USE KAIYO ! They will waste your time. If there is any small issue with anything you submit they will waste your time and not pick up the furniture. Found a bug ( not a bedbug)on the restoration hardware couch that's been sat on 10 times " can't pick it up" Rug was a little dirtier because of a move which could be vacuumed to the original condition. Denied pickup . They state they do the heavy lifting and cleaning which is not true.
