These brew houses are becoming my so prevalent in the Chicago area that in order to get 4 stars you better knock it outta the park. Unfortunately Kaiser did not. Good beer listing which I would expect as it's merely a "ticket to the game" in the brew house world. Sausages were good, fries were awesome with the dipping sauces. Salmon salad was decent. Ambience in the outdoor space was nice which is what I'd expect. Service was really poor. Took forever to get a beer. Had to find the waiter to get served. Just bad.. The waiter made a comeback later on in the meal. Overall 3 of 5. Nothing stood out but nothing to ever make me come back again. read more

BringFido promises you can lounge with your furry friend at 1 of their 6 outdoor tables; yet when I arrived with the v quiet schnauzer I'm dog sitting, a waitress told me we couldn't join the party we were suppose to meet in the beer garden. Went here for opening day and had a very positive experience overall. I've done paddy long's (same guys) beer and bacon tasting a few times in the past couple years, so I had relatively high expectations coming here. But I was quite pleased! Don't remember exactly what we ordered, but I remember being quite satisfied. I really liked that you could order tasters of the beer for $2. The sauce choices on the fries were also awesome. My boyfriend was in heaven with some bacon bread pudding dessert they had. The place seemed really airy and open, with that typical lofty/industrial/modern look that the west loop is known for. The service was great, and all the staff seemed really friendly and helpful. The beer garden wasn't quite finished yet, but I can imagine its popular when the weather is nice! Haven't returned because I don't go that far west on Randolph too often, but when I'm nearby, I'll be sure to try it again. read more

Finally got a chance to stop by Kaiser Tiger on the way to last night's McD's All American Game at the United Center. It's location really makes it a great place to grab a drink or two prior to going to a sporting event. Obviously the main attractions to Kaiser Tiger are its 5 lb Bomb and its variety of craft beers. While the bomb looks like the manliest meal/sandwich around (pork and beef sausage wrapped in bacon), my friend only thought it was alright. I had much better luck with the Paddy Long Polka - a kielbasa served on a pretzel roll. It was great - juicy, large, and very tasty. Fries do not come with the meal and as a word of advice, go with a small fry. The large looks like it weighs a pound and even a small is more than enough for two people. Regarding the dipping sauce, skip the chipotle mayo as sadly it did not have much chipotle to it. As for the beer, great selection as it had the Lagunitas Old Barleywine from 2011 and even a Game of Thrones beer on tap along with the usual suspect of crafts. read more

I had the bomb sandwich and it was pretty average. Its basically a glorified meatloaf sandwich wrapped in bacon. I wouldn't say it was bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The fries are definitely above average. Nice and crispy, that come in large portions with plenty of sauce choices. The side bacon is also quite tasty. If you are a carnivore they definitely have options for you and I would say it is comparatively priced for the area. read more

I can't say I was blown away by the food but I wasn't disappointed either. If the Kaiser Tiger wants me back again or 4 stars they need to play to their strengths, which is the meat. The grind on their sausages/brats is perfect and the quality of the meat itself was phenomenal, however some of their condiment and topping choices greatly hindered the flavor and in some cases ruined it completely. For my main dish I ordered the Justin Beiber, a great white brat on a pretzel roll with caramelized onions. Unfortunately when I say caramelized onions I really mean Caramel onions. The fragrance and taste of the onions was so obnoxiously sweet it destroyed the flavor of the brat completely. I had to scrape off all the onions and their goo to be able to enjoy the delicious encased meat. This brat itself would have been perfect with just a touch of their homemade mustard and some lightly caramelized white onions. Now the homemade mustard and cucumbers, why they don't utilize these more is beyond me. The sausage and cheese board was a great little appetizer to get a feel for what they had to offer and I would say if its your first time there its a good idea in order to feel out the place. The best part of the meal were the Grenades. Bacon wrapped meatballs deep fried in Alpha King beer batter. Usually the beer batter itself is some flavorless afterthought put on the menu to sound cool however this beer batter is exquisite and I found myself eating every last crumb. If I return I will probably try a slice of the bomb and perhaps their bacon board but I think the Kaiser Tiger needs to take a little more time to develop and perfectly tweek the minor things. read more

Ordered the Salmon BLT wasn't impressed. The salmon was processed, I prefer a fresh fillet. Not a beer drinker therefore the waiter was able to accommodate me with a Mai Tai which was made to my liking. I did enjoy the appetizers; Bacon Grenade and Bacon Wrapped Dates. Next time I will try a Happy Gaucho a colleague ordered one and he was pleased. I must say they have some really good bacon! read more

First of all, what an absolutely gorgeous space! The owners of this place definitely put some intelligent thought into the design of everything, from the open floor plan to the beautiful upstairs bar that gazes out on the Chicago skyline to the expansive beer garden that is a huge draw during our sadly short summers. Second of all, the food was very good - perfect fries with an array of interesting dipping sauces and sausages that are classic but differentiated with an interesting twist. The lamb and spinach sausage with feta was delicious and I salivate shamelessly when I think of trying the rest of the porky options. I am not really a beer person, although I am told their beer menu is fabulous, but I tried a delicious spin on a Tequila drink I had never had before (the El Diablo) so the cocktails are not overlooked in all the beer expertise. It will be interesting to see how the Tigers work out a few plating and service issues, but overall the experience was excellent for a brand-new restaurant and I look forward to getting perhaps a little too comfortable in one of the leather bar chairs on many future visits. read more

Came here on a Saturday during Covid-19. Our waiter was awesome and everything was great until we were told that we only had 20 minutes remaining on our reservation. We asked the hostess whether we could secure another table reservation so that we could stay longer. She said "no you only have a two hour reservation". Understood. But their security guard watched our table for the remaining 20 minutes of our reservation and even peeked their head into the bathroom while one of our male companions were using the urinals. Because we were sitting right by the hostess stand we noticed that the hostess thanked everyone for coming in. To our group they said nothing even though we were very cordial to every staff member we spoke to the entire time that we were there. As I said previously, our waiter was great! However, the rest of the staff was not. With a plethora of options available, I will not go back to an establishment where we are not treated with the same respect that we provided them. read more

Review based on overall experience but primarily the interaction with staff that follows. I was there with a large group and one of us left a pair of Rayban sunglasses and called the next day to see if they had been found. The staff confirmed that yes, they had the sunglasses in their lost and found and that they would hold them for us. We went in a few days later to pick them up and they mysteriously no longer had the sunglasses and did not offer any apologies or reasoning behind this despite confirming they had picked them up a few nights before. My now husband and I decided to plan a wedding in 3 months so we had very little time to find a venue. A friend recommended the Kaiser Tiger's Skyline Lounge, we fell in love with the space and the view. From the start the event staff was awesome. Callie and her crew were extremely accommodating to all of our needs and were extremely helpful during the entire planning process. During the actual event the staff went out of their way to ensure that everyone had an excellent time. A friend works as a nurse and her shift ran late causing her to miss the dinner, a waiter overheard and brought her a late plate. I would recommend this venue for any event or gathering. 3 stars because I'm sure it's a decent place but a group of us went last night and the staff was so obnoxious about the patio closing, it was ridiculous. I understand if it's a noise ordinance but there's no reason to come up to us 3 times to give us a count down of when the patio is going to close and on top of it someone kept flashing the outdoor lights. We watched a server bring a couple a whole meal just to have the women who was pushing people off the patio literally pick their food up from in front of them and tell them they had to move. I've only been for beers and pretzels which are great. The bathroom smells of mold and is filthy. It needs a serious clean.

I would have to agree with other reviewer. The fries are amazing. I ordered the large pretzel, sausage potato salad plate. Do yourself a favor, don't. The sausage and the pretzel had the most salt I've ever experienced. The sausage was so salty you can't even eat it. The deep fried meatball thing as an appetizer was tasteless. Not liking how the rows of tables were positioned. Your guest looks at the wall all night. Seems like they could come up with a better configuration. But the staff was nice, the grapefruit beer was good. This was our second time so we are moving on. read more

Do not park in front of this restaurant! There was glass all the way down the street from car windows being broken into. Thankfully we saw a previous review about that so we used an indoor garage on Madison. I get no joy out of writing a bad review but I also got no joy last night at Kaiser Tiger. Our group paid $50 for what was supposed to be 35 minutes to enjoy curling on their ice lanes. They did not have brooms, we were not allowed on the ice, the guy talked a lot and helped the other lane first then us (and didn't want to get us drinks), therefore our time was cut short so it was definitely not worth the money. Then we made a reservation for dinner and our server told me the bratwurst was great, but it wasn't. My sausage was very undercooked, it was pink and not hot. Conversely, the meat in my friend's goulash was overcooked. They were honest with my husband that they don't cook any burger under medium well, but it was well. Expensive night and just not good. I am extremely disappointed in this bar. We had a party of over 25 people that our bill was over $400 where we tipped 20%. The waitress felt the need to tell one of the persons in our parties that she was going to count our bill IN FRONT of us. I told the manager this and they continued to laugh IN FRONT of us. I love the fun atmosphere at Kaiser Tiger! It is inviting and open, all the while still having that neighborhood joint feel and appeal. I have been to this spot a couple of times and was blown away by the hospitality and service. I do not eat meat, and opted for the veggie wedgie and was quite happy! A few more veggie options might be helpful to work into the menu. The fries were crazy good and can we just talk about the dipping sauce for a minute? The curry ketchup became a table favorite and it got quit competitive!, (although I am pretty sure I won that battle). The space would be a fantastic venue for an event. The people, food, and experience are all top notch. Starting with the great selection of beer and mixed drinks. I came in on a Saturday around noon to grab drinks and food with my girlfriend. We were more than happy with the service, atmosphere, food quality and drinks. The place has a very open feel with a lot of natural sunlight. We tend to eat very healthy and their menu offered several selections to meet our needs. But, Linda our bartender, made our experience at kaiser tiger one of the best. We never met her before but vowed to be regulars. Can't wait to go back again. read more

I had been wanting to try Kaiser Tiger for a while and finally did tonight and am I glad I did! We were lucky and got free street parking right across the street from the restaurant and were seated right away (with no reservation on a Friday evening) SCORE! The waitress was very friendly and the selection of beer and cider was great. We really enjoy cider and the selection was pretty nice and there was even a local unfiltered cider made by a husband and wife that was unique and delicious. The food was AMAZING! You feel like family the minute you step in the door. Definitely the best beer garden in possibly in all of Chicago. Restaurant was suggested by out of town visitor who had heard about the beer selection it offered. They do have a bar but mixed drinks are not their specialty. Beers are good with variety of alcohol content available. Bavarian pretzel with cheese and mustard was excellent. Ordered a meat tray with some sausage that was bland when expecting. This may or may not be my first review, if it's my second, you may also notice that I am the negative Nancy, but I go to a reasonable amount of places and I am very easy going. I went to kaiser tiger with several coworkers and had a horrible time, I can't think of a bar with worse service. I was asked to "move" four times. From bar to table to bar to out of the way. I ended up sitting by the exit for a while with the group and got carded every time I went outside. This would be fine, if they were nice about it, but comments were met with snarky remarks and unwelcoming gestures. I give this place two stars, I wish I could give it one, but he bar tender I ordered from was so incredibly kind. After hearing that Kaiser Tiger has a menu full of bacon, I knew I had to come here. I follow a Paleo diet and bacon is essentially a food group for me. My husband and I came here on a recent Saturday night and sat outside in the beer garden area. We ordered the beer & bacon grenades to start as well as some wings. The grenades were just big balls of fried dough that didn't taste like much else. Wings were small and typical of your cheap sports bar fare. I got the beer and bacon sausage, which was actually quite tasty even though the bacon surrounding the sausage was soggy. Hubby got the Kaiser board and it was really good too - especially the mustards. The beer list is respectable, but the beer is served in plastic cups. As is the water. We also had a dirty napkin propping up our table and a host of old food beneath our feet. Our server very obviously did not want to be there. The crowd here was young and drunk. Lots of people with parties of 20+ to get their drink on all night. Those days have passed for me so not really my ideal scene. All in all, a lovely date night atmosphere. If you are coming here to drink Miller Lite until you blackout with 30 of your closest friends, you will probably love it here. If you'd like to enjoy a few brews while eating decent bacon-themed food, try elsewhere. read more

I hosted my office holiday party this past Friday and being in construction, I knew that I wanted to have something hearty! I literally googled best bacon restaurants in Chicago, and the "Kaiser Bomb" appeared on my screen! I was sold, and that was before the taste and service impressed me more! Journey was my event coordinator, delivery driver and set up specialist! She did it all, happily and with a smile! The food was amazing, I think a few guests left with Kaiser's info for their own celebrations! I recommend you go there for the service, of course you'll stay for the food! read more
