We stopped in on a Saturday for early dinner and drinks. We made a reservation in advance, but there seemed to be plenty of tables. My favorite aspect of the experience was the enclosed outdoor patio. It is really nice - shaded from the sun, protected from the rain and wind, and has ceiling fans to keep the air circulating! Looked like they also have heaters for cold days. No dogs on the back patio though, only the front area. You will find the bar's cat, named Bacon, roaming around in the back, though! It seems like a really great spot for groups and finding street parking isn't bad. They have a really big beer and cocktail menu, including a few non-alcoholic options, so you're sure to find something you like! They have a decent sized food menu as well, with some vegetarian options, but we weren't impressed by the food. We had the pork belly BLT and smashburger. Neither were amazing. We liked the smashburger more than the pork belly BLT. The pork belly was not very tender. I wouldn't order it again. The service was very friendly and they seemed like a fun group. I'd only go back because of the convenience of it being so close to United Center. They do have Bacon Gernades which used to be served at Paddy Long's. That restaurant has since closed and we were told that owner of Paddy Long's is one of the owners of Kaiser Tiger. The service was average. We could not hear our server. Booked this venue for our company summer outing and they refused to accommodate us when we showed up. Terrible! Yes, we were running late but we called each time and each time we were told it was okay. In fact, we booked it for three hours so even though we arrived about an hour late, there's no reason they couldn't have accommodated us for the two hours remaining. Our family gathered in Chicago to celebrate Christmas and a new baby in the family. We decided Curling would be a fun activity for our group of 6. The food is decent, beers are delicious, and nothing can beat a free shuttle to/from the stadium! It's a pretty easy walk as well, but I especially don't mind taking the shuttle during winter months. This place had all the makings of a great post-event meet up space. I loved how open it was and that the tables had ample space between them to make you feel safe. The waitress was also great at reminding us to mask up as she approached the table, which I appreciated. The menu has both regular American fare and German fare, and looked good from what my friends ordered. Nate and I shared some fries as a quick bite, where we were blown away with the homemade sauces. The bbq sauce was sweet and tangy, and the Cajun rémoulade was true to its name. So good! My drink is the (warm) peanut butter crunch coffee, which I'm still dreaming about since it was so good. I've gone around tasting the best food in Chicago! If you're looking for the best hot dogs in town.. this is the place! When I came to Chicago, I asked around for the nest hot dog, pizza etc. So I came here. I ordered the bacon wrapped sausage and the sauerkraut sausage. Both tasted amazing in their own way. Sausage was juicy and full of flavour, the bun was made of pretzel bread which made the hot dog even better! The bread was toasted on the bottom, giving it a crunch and that amazing taste of pretzel in every bite! The 3 of us in my group ordered a large fries to share and washed down our food with a pint of beer and glasses of wine! We sat outdoors and were in for quite the surprise when we heard a live band playing and performing throughout our whole meal. That just made the ambiance that much better! Good food, good drinks and good music with great company! It certainly made for a great evening. Price was decent for the amount of food we ordered and quality. Came here before Clapton last week and a great time outside on their awesome patio! Dad and I started with Douggie B's Poutine Rodeo which are hand cut fries topped with fresh cheese curds and southern white sausage gravy. It was very tasty but as you can imagine very rich but that was my fault not KT's. My main event was their Chicken Sammich which was a Grilled chicken breast, cracked-pepper bacon, swiss cheese, and chipotle mayo. So I'm staying away from bread so I just did the CB (didn't touch the bacon) and it was a solid size of a Chicken Breast. My number one fav was their fries! I had a great time recently at Kaiser Tiger for dinner and curling. We were easily able to make a reservation for both curling and a table reservation for dinner and drinks. Make sure you reserve both or there may not be a spot for you to hang out if they are busy! There was a spot for free parking right in front of the building too! This place really gets COVID protocol and is doing it right. They have contactless menus, social distancing in place, and even on a cold and snowy January night- did not feel uncomfortable with all of the heaters they have installed on their patio. Starting off with curling, you get 35 minutes for $50. You cannot switch off and on the court between players- so make sure there are not more than 4 of you. This was my first time curling so I'm not a pro on the rules- but be advised you cannot go on the ice or use the brushes yourself if you really do like curling. Food was really good, but I do think it is slightly overpriced for sausages and French fries. With the Covid Protocols there is a lot of space (12-14 feet) between each table, therefore the noise is pretty low given the space and number of televisions. The staff is as attentive as you want. If you want to keep the drinks flowing, they are right there. If you just want to vibe with your friends, they will leave you alone. Large - The space is surprisingly large. From the outside, It looks like a relatively small location, but when you get inside there is TONS of seating. There is a sizable bar and then additional 4 sections on top of that. Overall, its a great place to start your night or end your night as Monica and I did. Fries - They have some of the best bar fries in the city. They use the wide cut potatoes and duck fat (I think) which gives the fries extra flavor and weight. These are great appetizers for the table. Pro Tip: Their BBQ sauce is AMAZING. Went here before a Blackhawks game and loved it! Traveled here from Lincoln Park area and was so easy to access on brown to pink L lines. Because it was game day, we did have a reservation, which I'd recommend given how full it was, but there was plenty of space. We were a party of 7, 3 kids & 4 adults and they accommodated us perfectly. Kids were able to order hamburgers and Mac & cheese when we asked the waitress about kids menu options - kids loved them. We also each ordered an entree: the turkey bacon club sandwich, smashburger, pulled pork sandwich and two sides of fries - all food was fantastic, but think the smashburger was the winner. PLUS if you're going to the hockey game, there's a free shuttle (tips accepted) to the game. I immediately liked the concept of Kaiser Tiger the first time I saw it. Sausage. Bacon. Beer. That's really all you need in life, isn't it? My first visit here I got the bacon board and it was awesome! I loved all the different types they had! They also have a decent beer selection with some good stuff on tap. As for the Kaiser Royale, I've made the mistake of getting it twice now, and it's been underwhelming each time. I usually love double patty burgers, but this has unfortunately been dry and disappointing both times. However, the back patio is great in the summer for concerts and enjoying the weather. It's also great in the winter for its famous curling rink. I finally had an opportunity to do this recently and it was pretty fun. The food was ok and they provided large portions. I ordered the Ocktoberfest feast. It consisted of an Applewood bacon sausage, sauerkraut and this german pasta. You do have to order at the bar inside though for food or drinks if you sit in patio which was a little inconvenient, but not that big of a deal breaker. As far as the food. The patio is huge and covered, the summer cocktails are on point, the pretzel is pretty good but not the best you've ever had, and the turkey bacon club is HUGE and tasty. Super casual place on the west end of the west loop, great for grabbing a beer and food. We came here specifically for outdoor curling ($70 for 4 people), it's really more like bocce ball some there's no brooms but it's still fun for beginners. Beer is cheap and while I did not try their food, I heard it's really good from a random guy outside the front door. Their resident cat, Bacon, will most likely be snoozing on one of the outdoor tables, and not catching the rats. He looks like our cat, Tater (or Po-tater) and therefore I have dubbed Bacon's true name as Faux-Tater. read more

We brought family to Kaiser tiger day after Christmas for curling and lunch. The food was 2 stars at best. We booked curling for a few hours but barely got 2 games. They seem to rush us off the curling court because they only have two lanes. While we were curling staff inside tried to take our tables. They Charged us more for curling with a reservation than if we walked in off the street. Staff were nice. No issue there. Extremely expensive. Would not recommend. We called to complain and we were given a discount on return visit. Most people were from out of town and nobody in Chicago that day wishes to return. Overpriced for bad food and a curling experience where we were given limited time to enjoy the experience. Not a fan. read more

Great beer selection on draft but rating 4 stars because the beers are small portions and $10 and up which is on the higher end comparably. This place used to be awesome. This place used to care. I came here for my very first time today. Beforehand, I was living vicariously through friends. I went here for the very first time today, my husband's 3rd. The food was at best, mediocre. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped dog, if by wrapped you mean throw it on a bun and sprinkle it with bacon then they blew it out of the park. If not, this was a sad excuse for bacon wrapped anything. If you're going to cut corners, think about changing the name of the dish. So, having come back to Chicago after many years away means I don't know where to go. A friend of mine also came back to Chicago slightly before I did and suggested Kaiser Tiger, mostly because it was within walking distance and he'd been there before. Despite it being a Friday night and it being busy we got seated pretty quickly. Our server, Lance was a ginormous dude and right away it made me intimidated but he was very friendly and was quick to offer suggestions. I froze up from all the beer choices and when I asked Lance he suggest a Pipeworks beer, Ninja vs. Unicorn. Good choice, Lance. My friend also ordered large fries, telling me not to order fries on my own. He got the curry ketchup and aioli. When it came time to order food, I asked Lance again for his recommendation and he asked me if trusted him. Sure. What I got was what he ate, the chicken sandwich but as a wrap with guacamole, it was definitely a good choice. Really, the only downside was that the dipping sauces were definitely insufficient for three people to share. A few buddies of mine came here before the Blackhawks game last Thursday for Pat Foley's last game where he was announcing on TV. Very sentimental moment for Blackhawks fans... Kaiser Tiger is a very cool place to hang out and I have been here a few times. The ambience is definitely a restaurant, but think beer hall/hunter's lounge vibe. They have a laid back casual atmosphere, a great beer menu, and curling during the winter (I think shuffleboard during summer). There are also board games in the backroom and they have a nice patio. I noticed that they have a small shuttle bus to drive you over to the Blackhawks game, which is I think it is free (tip your driver) and is a nice perk. We arrived around 5pm before the Hawks game and there were not many people there, but it was a packed house as it got closer to game time. We ordered the Kaiser Plate to share, which has a humongous pretzel! However, the pretzel was somewhat stale (tough to bite into as it needed a ton of dipping sauce and more butter or egg wash to soften it up) and I have had much better at Prost! and World of Beer, which are very similar concepts to Kaiser Tiger (run-on sentences are cool when Yelping). The best things were the beer/bacon sausages and the potato salad, which were great! For my entree, I ordered the Kaiser Royale, which is their house burger. Of course I am adding it to my burger rankings. The bun was an average kaiser roll. The burger patties were overly seasoned and almost extremely peppery. Don't get me wrong I love seasoning and I like pepper, but this just did not fly with me. It looked like the burger patties were chargrilled (Burger King), which is ok, but I don't think it was that juicy due to the excessive seasoning. The best part of the burger was the toppings. The cheese was average and the bacon was excellent, however the lettuce and tomato were extremely blah, but to be fair it was fresh. For my ranking it goes Bun: 5, Burger: 4, Toppings: 5, and an overall ranking 4.67. Overall, I think Kaiser Tiger is a great bar to come to grab a beer, watch some sports, and play some curling with friends. They have a big space so it is good for bigger parties. It's a great atmosphere, but food is very mediocre except for the bacon. Service was adequate and prices were good for the West Loop. This review is pretty much a high 3, low 4 so very mixed given the food and the best part being the beer and atmosphere. I would love to come back and try the Bomb someday, but I need to work up an appetite for it first! read more
