We were here with friends for a birthday celebration dinner. We were six people to join but it was raining heavily and hence one by one folks were joining. We had made reservations already for 6 people and still the manager at the restaurant was pressurizing to take a smaller table seat. It was such a tense moment until all 6 showed up. We ordered papdi chaat which was good, vada pav which had a smell and hence we notified the servers but the manager came to explain that it's freshly cooked every morning. We somehow didn't enjoy that dish. I will say try at your own risk. We ordered puri chole which was good. We friends were ready to leave this place as there's a crowd and it's a small place hence the customers are rushed to eat and leave. We decided to have kulfi and ordered it too. It was good we enjoyed it and the falooda kulfi was a complimentary by the manager. Overall, I am not sure if I would want to go here again. It's okay to go and know what the hype is about but you will not find anything great as there are other places too that have all these authentic Indian street foods. read more

Ambience is nice. It's open with high ceilings and good tasteful decor. Food is disappointing. We had chole bhature, dabeli, vada pav and then dinner. Chole bhature were ok. They didn't serve onion or pickle with it. Tandoori roti was ok as well. Everything else was very ordinary. I have had better food at many restaurants in Bay Area. The place was buzzing with activity and we waited 30mins to be seated. Chilli guava is a rip off. It's just canned guava juice served in a glass with some chilli on the rim. It was served at room temperature. read more

1. Service is fast. 2. Very clean restaurant too. 3. Easy to park. 4. Food is ok. Lacks texture, flavor and authenticity. 5. Chole bhature was really good. Highly recommend it 6. Dahi bhalla papdi chat was pretty bad. Don't get it. 7. Paneer Tikka was ok. Soft paneer. Lacking salt and bell peppers. 8. Rasmalai was good 9. Chili cheese toast was the worst. Please don't order. Food was pretty good. I think the Santa Cruz chili toast was very good, though could maybe use a little more salt. The chai was fantastic! The one piece of feedback is the overuse of plastic with hot foods - the chai cup was sealed with Saran Wrap and looked like it could melt. It was busy but the wait wasn't too long. Food came out piping hot and fresh, and staff was nice. read more

We sat down and while browsing the menu briefly, we realized the options were are vegetarian and there were no meat options. My partner was slightly disappointed, but he ordered one of the thali options, and I ended up getting the chole bhature. The thali was a bit underwhelming, the daal was alright, but other curry dishes were not super appetizing and there was one sauce that seemed a bit sour and watery. However, I couldn't identify the distinct flavors, so it wasn't something that left an impression. I did enjoy the kheer (rice pudding), as my partner is not a fan of dessert. The chole bhature was our favorite, as the fresh, puffy bread and the chickpea curry was spicy and flavorful and we enjoyed it quite a bit. I had initially planned to order something else, and ended up changing my mind last minute. I'm glad we tried the chole bhature, totally worth it! The bhel puri (puffed rice) dish that came with the thali was pretty good too, as it had a nice mix of toppings & savory flavors. Customer service was excellent and attentive, I had mentioned that we had a reservation and were short on time, so they were quick with bringing out our order. They did initially forget the tea that was part of the thali, but I alerted a staff member and they brought it out promptly. Same thing for requesting the check or asking for take out boxes, it was efficient and the restaurant staff were helpful and friendly. It's also great the restaurant offers monthly specials, and the interior was pretty standard but had a good amount of seating. I'd likely return to try other chaat items on the menu. Possibly worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for a flavorful, vegetarian meal.

Averaging out a 5/5 score for the decor and food with a 2/5 score for the service. We dined at Kailash Parbat on a Thursday evening. First time trying the place, and the food and aesthetic were recommended to us by multiple friends. The place has been open for less than a month, but it's already packed -- even on weekday nights! Location: Kailash Parbat is new to Dublin, but they've boldly opened their doors right across from the stalwart Bay Area chaat restaurant Chaat Bhavan! Decor: The decor is super cute and well thought-out -- lots of references to Mumbai and Bollywood culture, and even an old telephone booth in the corner. Very Instagrammable, and very different from the orientalist, outdated decor you see at most Indian restaurants in the US. Drinks: no alcoholic beverages, just nostalgic Indian non-alcoholic options! My group ordered sweet lassi, fresh lime soda, and jaljeera. All of the drinks were very authentic -- the yogurt base of the lassi was nice and tart, the fresh lime soda was made with both sugar and salt, and the jaljeera was "masaledaar" (full of spice and flavor). A couple of people in my party felt that the jaljeera was a little too "masaledaar" and had to order some yogurt on the side to balance out the spice. I will say that the drinks felt a bit too expensive for the portions, but the presentation and taste were great. Food: The food was excellent! We ordered the chaat platter (which serves 3), vada pav, ragda pattice, and a paneer tikka appetizer. I love that they had a chaat sampler so we didn't have to choose one dish each. The only drawback is that the platter was a bit small, so it's more of an appetizer than a shareable meal. The vada pav was delicious but very spicy -- like tear-inducing spicy. Same with the ragda pattice, but the highlight of that dish was the presentation. The patties were in these adorable heart shapes, and the ragda was served in a little pail! I ordered the classic paneer tikka appetizer, which the server recommended over the haryali paneer tikka. The texture of the paneer was amazing, and the flavors were nice... I feel like it was missing something but I'm not sure what. Anyway -- dine here expecting authentic Indian flavors and spice levels. Service: Oof. I will preface this by saying that they were busy -- but overall, it was very clear that the same attention to detail given to the decor and the food has not been given to customer service. When our name came up on the list, we were escorted to our table by the manager who was very polite and wore a nice blazer that sort of matched the decor. However, it kind of went downhill from there. One of the seats at our booth wasn't clean -- which we had to point out to the manager. He immediately had an employee clean it off with napkins, but there was still a little bit left that he missed. Our server was spatially and socially awkward, and simply not good at her job. When we asked her what items contained peanuts (because we had an allergy at the table), she smiled, blankly stared at us, and said that a lot of things contain peanuts. We had to ask her to go and ask the kitchen what items these specifically were. She would come over to the table and awkwardly hover while inputting our order into her tablet (which for some reason wasn't done while we were ordering our food?). I asked for an extra menu once we had ordered our starter, and she stuck it right in front of my face when I was about to start eating. It didn't seem like she registered any of our second orders, so I called her back to the table and asked if she wanted to read our order back to us. She sheepishly smiled at me and asked if I could just tell her the order again. She seemed nice, but was informal in a way that made me feel uncomfortable and honestly annoyed as a customer. Oh also - I was trying to treat my group to a meal, and she came and loudly announced the total amount the meal had come out to at the end instead of discreetly handing me the tablet. They really need to do a better job of giving their staff training on professionalism. Food running was also awkward. Food was just placed generally wherever on the table instead of in front of the person who ordered it. The staff was not courteous/particularly mindful when it came to clearing dishes either. They took our water glasses after we had just asked for another bottle of water, and we had to ask for more. The manager filled in for our server at one point to take our drink order, but he was very busy and got kind of rude with us when we had a question about a drink that he wasn't understanding. He was fine for the rest of the meal, and we made small talk after. Overall, the service was not up to the standard set by the decor and menu -- which are impeccably well thought-out. If they could train their staff to ensure that service is on the same level as their strengths, this place would be unmatched. read more

Kailash Parbat in Dublin, CA, makes a strong first impression with its beautiful ambiance and top-notch interiors. The decor is vibrant, modern, and creates a welcoming atmosphere for diners. Parking wasn't too difficult to find, which is always a plus for the area. We were excited to explore their menu but found the food quality to be underwhelming in several areas: Papdi Chaat: This dish typically bursts with a mix of tangy, spicy, and sweet flavors, but here, it lacked the punch we were hoping for. The flavors felt muted, and the balance of ingredients didn't quite hit the mark. Aamchi Mumbai Sandwich: A classic street-style sandwich packed with vegetables, chutneys, and masalas. While it was enjoyable, it didn't stand out in terms of the bold flavors usually associated with Mumbai street food. Paneer Tikka Mastani: Paneer is expected to be soft, smoky, and flavorful, but this version didn't meet those standards. The paneer was okay, but the spices didn't come together to create the vibrant taste we were looking for. Mushroom Tikka: Unfortunately, this dish felt undercooked, leaving the mushrooms a bit raw. The spices and marinade also didn't come through as well as they should have, making it one of the less enjoyable items. Bombay Vada Pav: The saving grace of the meal! This dish was flavorful, with a soft pav bun and a perfectly spiced potato filling. It brought a bit of the authentic Mumbai street food vibe to the table. Desi Kala Khatta: This tangy and refreshing drink was a nostalgic treat. Its sweet and sour profile was spot on, making it a delightful way to wrap up the meal. While the ambiance and service were impressive, the food quality needs improvement in some dimensions. I'd recommend visiting for the experience and it could have been a one off day where we ended up on the wrong side with food. Hopefully it'd be better next time. read more

*Vegetarian Foodie Review* A Mixed Bag at Kailash Parbat! We visited Kailash Parbat for the first time and ordered a variety of dishes. Here's a breakdown of our experience: - Crispy Corn Basket: Average, lacked balance in flavors. - Papad: Surprisingly spicy, but my 4-year-old still enjoyed it. - Jeera Rice and Dal Tadka: My toddler loved this combination, but I skipped the Jeera Rice due to ghee. - Laccha Paratha: Average, had better elsewhere. - Garlic Naan: Thicker than expected, but soft and enjoyable. - Palak Kofta with Paneer (special menu): Flavorful, but lacking in kofta pieces - only 2 initially, and even after requesting more, we only got 2 additional pieces, which still didn't justify the generous amount of gravy. Unfortunately, the gravy consistency was super thin and water-like, making it unenjoyable despite its good taste. On a positive note, the vibe of this place was super cool, with a fun Bollywood atmosphere. The service was a little slow, but understandable given it was a weekend. However, they accommodated my request to serve the rice and dal first, so my toddler could start eating right away. Our server was attentive, and my toddler was thrilled to receive two candies for finishing her meal. Overall, the experience was just okay. While my toddler enjoyed the Jeera Rice and Dal Tadka, the rest of the dishes were hit-or-miss. read more

Our recent visit to Kailash Parbat in Dublin was a mix of delightful flavors and a few areas for improvement. We enjoyed the Bombaiya Dahi Chaat and Chaat Platter Dal Makhani, both of which were delicious. The richness of flavors in the dal makhani was particularly satisfying. However, our experience was slightly marred when we discovered a hair in the chaat. Fortunately, the staff promptly addressed this issue and did not include it in our bill, which we appreciated. One aspect that could be improved is the waiting time. It took longer than expected to be seated despite having a reservation. To streamline this process, it would be beneficial if Kailash Parbat could post a QR code online for guests to join the queue remotely. This would make it easier for patrons to plan their arrival and minimize waiting times upon reaching the restaurant. On a positive note, the Guava Juice we ordered was refreshing and complemented our meal perfectly. I recommend ensuring you join the queue online beforehand to avoid unnecessary waits. Overall, Kailash Parbat offers delicious Indian cuisine with attentive service. With a few tweaks to enhance efficiency, it could provide an even better dining experience. I look forward to returning and enjoying more of their flavorful dishes. read more

WARNING! This establishment is a nightmare. The cuisine is shockingly mediocre with nothing noteworthy to rave about, but the pinnacle of disappointment is the manager, AJEET. This individual's sole focus is on lining his pockets with your hard-earned money. Following our hefty bill of over $150, he callously demanded our departure, blatantly prioritizing seating new patrons over our ongoing conversation. Shockingly, he couldn't spare us a mere 5 minutes to conclude our discussion post-payment. Digging deeper, we uncovered the unethical practice of exploiting students on H1 visas by withholding gratuities rightfully earned by the diligent staff. Unbelievable! Ajeet's complete lack of regard for proper customer service is staggering. Witnessing him berate the affable servers only adds to the disdain. Clearly on a power trip, this autocrat's tyrannical behavior has sealed the deal--we will never set foot in this establishment again. It's a thoroughly deplorable experience! If the owner possesses even a shred of business acumen, they would swiftly replace Ajeet with someone who understands the basics of effective management. read more

I recently dined at Kailash Parbat in the Bay Area and had an exceptional experience. I must extend special thanks to the manager, Ajith, who went out of his way to prioritize our seating considering we were with a toddler. His attention to our needs was commendable. The service at Kailash Parbat was impressively fast, ensuring that we were promptly attended to despite the bustling atmosphere. As for the food, it was truly top-notch, offering authentic North Indian cuisine that left us satisfied and delighted. Each dish arrived hot and freshly prepared, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to quality. Despite the long waiting line, we felt fortunate to be seated relatively quickly, thanks to Ajith's thoughtful assistance. Our daughter was particularly thrilled with her treats - the mango lassi and gulab jamun jannat were delightful additions to her dining experience. Overall, Kailash Parbat exceeded our expectations with its impeccable service, delicious food, and warm hospitality. It's undoubtedly a gem for those craving authentic North Indian flavors in the Bay Area. read more

The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy and intimate setting that immediately made me feel at home. But what truly stole the show was the food - oh, the food! Each dish was expertly prepared and presented with such love and care, it was like a taste explosion in my mouth! The flavors were bold and vibrant, with just the right balance of spices and seasonings. I particularly enjoyed the chaat platter, which offered a delightful variety of textures and tastes. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure my every need was met. Overall, I would highly recommend Kailash Parbat to anyone seeking an authentic and exceptional Indian dining experience. Five stars and a big thumbs up from this delighted customer! read more

We had dinner here last night, and despite it being a Wednesday, the place was packed. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that service wasn't a priority. It took quite some time for anyone to acknowledge us and seat us. The wait to have our order taken was even longer, with the staff seeming disorganized. However, once we ordered, the food arrived promptly, which we appreciated. We had the KP Chaat Platter, Pani Puri, Bombay Vada Pav, Borivali Ki Dabeli, Ragda Pattice, Haryali Paneer Tikka (since Mushroom Tikka wasn't available) and Masala Jaljeera. Every dish was fresh, well-presented, and delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, which is essential for chaat. We also liked that the green and red chutneys were served on the side, allowing us to adjust the seasoning to our taste. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience, though the service left much to be desired. read more

I had high hopes for this place given all the hype, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the expectations. The food was pretty average and felt overhyped. The much-talked-about fall pods kulfi, which is apparently a year-round favorite, was also disappointing--it didn't have the wow factor I was expecting. The chaat was a bit of a letdown too--over-spiced and over-sweetened, with a lack of balance in the flavors. Nothing really stood out in terms of taste. On a positive note, the service and decor was a nice touch, transporting you straight into the vibrant hustle and bustle of Mumbai, which added to the overall experience. But when it comes to food, it just didn't hit the mark for me. Definitely not the unforgettable culinary experience I was hoping for. read more

I absolutely loved the food!! The decor is beautifully done, with tasteful Bollywood star-themed decorations--elegant, clean, and inviting. Even the cutlery they used to serve the dishes was impressive, adding to the overall experience. Our waiter, Pavithra, was friendly and polite, making our meal even more enjoyable. We ordered chole bhature, paneer masthani, spinach dum biryani, and their famous falooda--and let me tell you, everything was delicious! The chole was hands down the BEST I've had in years!! Seriously, so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Wish I had pictures, but we devoured everything the moment it arrived--no regrets! Highly recommend this place if you're craving amazing food with a great ambiance. read more

Food: 10/10 - If you crave authentic Indian cuisine, this is the spot! Their Bombay sandwich is unbeatable, and I've sampled half the menu already. Can't wait to try the rest--consistently delicious! Ambiance: 9/10 - A charming setting that truly captures the essence of Mumbai. From the decor to the ambiance, it's a perfect reflection of the city's diverse neighborhoods and culture. Service: 5/10 - While the food and ambiance shine, the service could use improvement. They seem understaffed, especially during busy weekends. Even on weekdays, it's a challenge to get attention from servers or management. More staffing would greatly enhance the overall experience. read more

The ambience was nice, creating a welcoming vibe. However, the food was a bit hit or miss for me. I noticed in another review that north indian food from Mumbai really differs from the authentic stuff. Exactly my point too! Their chaat was decent, but the choley bhature didn't quite hit the mark. On the bright side, dry Manchurian was packed with flavor and really enjoyable. The service was good--the staff were friendly and attentive. Just a heads-up: if you're expecting this place to match the quality of a typical Indian restaurant chain, you might be a bit let down. read more

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and reminded me of authentic Indian street food--flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. The service was just as impressive, with friendly and attentive staff. The servers and even the owner had a smile on their faces the entire time, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything from the food to the hospitality made for a great dining experience. If you're looking for tasty Indian street-style food with excellent service, this place is definitely worth a visit! read more

We came here on a Sunday at 5PM with a party of 4 to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. We were…read morethe only party there when we arrived, and there were only about 3 tables total by the time we left, so it definitely felt empty for a weekend evening. First, the interior is beautiful. Whoever redid the old Coco Cabana space did an incredible job- every detail took my breath away. Dublin doesn't have many restaurants this upscale/chic, so it was a nice change of pace. The menu pulls from all different regions of India and plates everything in a really modern, elevated way. Our favorites were the pappad, chicken saoji, butter chicken, garlic naan, and payasam. What we ordered: - Papdi chaat (tableside, $42): So fun and unique to watch them make it tableside, and it tasted good, but $42 for a bowl of chaat felt steep. Realistically I'd pay $27-28 for this. The frozen yogurt in dry ice was a cool visual but honestly it would've tasted better as regular yogurt. - 3 types of chicken tikka masala ($22): Everyone else liked it but I thought the chicken was nothing special. Portion-wise, best for 2 people. It was awkward to cut each of the 3 flavors of chicken thigh into portions. - Pappad and chutney ($14): I LOVE papad with tamarind chutney and their basket had a nice variety of papad. Definitely recommend this one. - Laal Maas ($38): Didn't try it myself but heard it was extremely spicy and the goat was overly fatty. Wouldn't recommend based on the feedback from the table. - Chicken saoji ($34): Chicken and egg in a thick coconut sauce- a crowd pleaser, great if you love coconut curry. - Butter chicken ($32): I liked this a lot. Paired with their garlic naan (some of the best garlic naan I've ever had), it is crazy together. - Payasam ($15): My father-in-law's favorite item of the night similar to kheer seviyan with crispy fried vermicelli mixed into rice pudding. So, so good. We've been to upscale Indian restaurants in the Bay that have disappointed with beautiful interiors and lackluster food. Overall this was some of the best upscale Indian food we've had in the Bay, and the interior is genuinely gorgeous...but let's talk about the elephant in the room: this restaurant is in a Safeway shopping complex in suburban Dublin, nearby a Dave's Hot Chicken. It's a strange juxtaposition for a spot charging these prices. We spent $400 for 4 people, and while every dish was well-executed, the setting made it hard to justify fine-dining-level pricing. We also dined in a mostly empty restaurant on a weekend evening with club/house music playing throughout, which added to the disconnect between the price point and the actual experience. 5 stars for food and interior, but knocking off a star because the fine dining price tag doesn't match the suburban plaza setting.

The restaurant is high end and the service and ambiance are great. But if we talk about the food…read moreit's very good but does not meet the quality of the service and ambiance. The taste and quality are good but the quantity is very less. For the price point a costumer should get a lot more. We ordered the chicken tikka trio, it has alot of potential but u only get 3 small chicken nuggets size portion for $28. That is kind of unacceptable. You can go to Pippal for its ambience and good service, but you will need to order more than you usually do or you will go home hungry!
