I'm having fun exploring Santee and was given a wonderful recommendation to try Kaffee Meister from a local friend. Cold brew with 1/2 sweet coconut syrup was my delicious drink today...and it was nice sitting outside in the shade ...(it's a little noisy by the road but still lovely) And then right around the corner is an epic park ...Mast Park...and just a couple miles away is The Mission Trails Visitor Center and trail system. It was my first time trying this coffee shop. Starting with the drink, I ordered a Soy Latte and it tasted alright. I have had better Latte so I'm feeling that the latte is average at best. The environment is great and is good for working and studying there. Cashier was warming. However, when I asked for recommendations for milk substitute choice for my drink, the cashier did not recommend and just informed me that I go with whatever I like. I would consider myself a regular. I find the staff there friendly. And they usually get it right. Today after water fitness class and breakfast I was craving their hot mocha that I find so delicious and satisfying. I get it ... sometimes people get it wrong and to err is human. After ordering my large mocha to go I immediately left. I sat at the stop light looking forward to my first sip. You know that first sip of chocolate mmmm.. and to my surprise and disappointment ... where is the chocolate?? Hmmmm .... Another sip taste like an unsweetened latte. To give them the benefit of the doubt on their error I looked at the cup and thought maybe the chocolate is on the bottom. I arrive home and ask my boyfriend what do you think. He sipped. He's so much better than me maybe it's on the spoon. ???? I think he was trying to make me feel better. I didn't want to go back. And thought you know it's bound to happen someone makes a mistake. I was unhappy and thought, I'll call the place and let them know. Hmmm ... I call. I was left again disappointed. I explained that I was just there and I ordered a mocha and it tastes like a latte. No chocolate. I just wanted to let them know so that someone else doesn't get disappointed and remind the staff to be mindful. The only response I got was I am sorry. I felt no empathy. It left me feeling worse as if it's no big deal. Just I'm sorry. I wasn't asking them to fix it. I just wanted to be acknowledged and for them to genuinely apologize for the error. I'm sharing this hoping to feel better. It's upsetting to drive to their coffee shop only to feel ignored and dismissed. If you read through all this, thank you!! Absolutely loved this coffee shop! This was a recommendation from a friend and I loved it. I got to work from home here and the the wifi was actually great! I had the cold brew and it was high quality and strong! The customer service was awesome and that makes me want to come back. Parking was super convenient and provided a great experience. I absolutely miss living in La Mesa just because of how often I used to be able to frequent this coffee shop. Whenever I'm in the area you can bet I'm stopping here. The coffee is GOOD and they know it- if you sell your coffee grounds in easy to use k-cup pods, it's because the demand is there and you know your stuff is have it now, but also make it later, good. The prices are also so reasonable especially as the market continues to raise prices. I ordered my usual quad espresso, a hot coffee for my partner, a croissant egg sandwich and two blueberry muffins and the total was $17. STEAL. The muffins were warmed, soft and had a crumble top. The croissant egg sandwich was a hit with the kids (and the few bites I stole) They offer a great selection of pastries, oatmeal's, sandwiches, etc so you don't have to look too far for something to pair with your coffee. Extra plus? Parents! Mast park is right next door, walking distance, so get your items to go, energize yourself while you drain your kiddos energy- all while enjoying a comforting cup of coffee. read more

First time here. Just wanted a flavored latte for the road. I'm on the other side of this display so I didn't see it until after ordering. I specifically asked the guy do you have any specialty lattes, I'd like a latte with some flavor. He did not mention any of these, just basically things on the main board. I can't believe I didn't leave a review sooner. This coffee shop is the BEST & one of my favorite local shops. Right when you walk inside it has a home, cozy feel with friendly customer service. The staff have always been great!!! I usually order something with vanilla whether it be a hot latte or frappe. I do enjoy substituting regular milk with oat milk. It makes it creamer and so delicious! There facility is always clean, staff are always very kind and it's a great place to stop by and get yourself a cup of "Kaffee". One of my favorite places to study! Very cute decor, free Wifi, lots of comfy chairs and couches, plus the drinks are fairly priced and tasty. One of Santee's greatest gems! I absolutely love this coffee shop. It can be so hard to find a spot to study, but the students of Santee need not venture much further than Kaffee Meister. They have great drip coffee and even better, they offer junior acai bowls! Great for those of us who can never finish a whole one, lol. I love their coffee so much, i buy it by the pound to brew at home on days I can't come in! Also had a biscotti today and it was so damn good, it literally inspired me to come on here and write this, ha! The staff is awesome, too. Lindsay is so rad, and an awesome barista! She always goes above and beyond for me, and every customer i see come in there, and sometimes I'm sitting there for HOURS. Also, honorable mention to Katie, she's always killing it on food! I was really hoping to write a bomb review because this is such an adorable establishment! The merch is awesome and ill definitely be back to snag a tee and a coffee mug...and someone please talk me out of purchasing a coffee burlap wall sign. Agh, love! The staff was super nice and very patient with me (first time there and taking forever to order) So the downfaaaallll... I ended up getting a Vanilla Cold Brew w/ cream & a BLT sandwich for myself and a waffle w/ strawberries & black coffee for hubs. My sandwich was edible but not great. The BBQ sauce on it is good but the bacon was stretchy, the lettuce was sad, and the ciabata bread was hard. My coffee was watery and I forced myself to finish it. I'll give this place another try in the future. Maybe I'll check out the other reviews to decide my next order. read more

The servers were nice enough. Unfortunately, there are no fans inside, so no air flow which made for hot seating inside even with coffee drinks on ice. Also, we ordered classic Turkey sandwiches, which were good, but on ciabatta bread, which was not posted on the menu. Also, I had to go back and ask for more lettuce. Mine came with 1 little piece while my sister's sandwich had a good amount of lettuce. All in all, it was good, but for 2 seniors the bill came to over $30 for 2 small flavored coffees and 2 small sandwiches. read more
