I was on the way to a friend's house in the area and was in the mood for coffee so I did a quick yelp search and found this place. I would say I am pretty picky when it comes to coffee and this place was just ok. It wasn't bad wasn't good either. I had macadamia latte and GF scone. I couldn't taste any coffee/espresso in latte and the scone was too sweet and pasty. Overall, it was just OK. read more

This is a great local coffee shop that Id much rather contribute to compared to its larger competitor .. *cough* Starbucks *cough*.. but seriously. They have amazing seasonal flavors like lavender (which is not too strong and floral), and in the fall they have an amazing cinnamon spice flavor. The customer service is nice and personal, it feels like they actually enjoy working there. The coffee is awesome!! My favorite is a flash brew iced coffee with lavender and macadamia milk. This place opened a few month ago. I came by for a Americano, a breakfast sandwich, and to get some reading done. I had the 12 oz Americano, the breakfast croissant with scrambled eggs, Canadian Bacon, cheddar cheese, with a pesto spread. I needed a place to lounge and get some work done. Good thing this was in my direction. Here was my experience on a Sunday afternoon. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking, I didn't have any issues finding parking. There was room for about 40 cars. The 5 parking spots in front are short term parking. Seating: Plenty of seating. From lounging, tables, bar seating, inside and out. Most of the outside seating is protected by the roof. The spot can house about 40 total. Feels: The plaza is pretty random with a library, cafe, salon, and all that jazz. It's a nice place to walk around but not exactly the most popping place. The cafe itself is pretty pleasant. It is a spacious area with some nice hip art. The music can very to ratpack to simple classic alternatives. Great place to get work done or catch up with friends. FOOD: Green smoothie (Recommend) A smoothie that gets the job done. Not your natural and fresh made but a healthy and sweet alternative. You can't taste much of the spinach and kale but moreover the pineapple and mango pure) CUSTOMER SERVICE: Pretty good. The barista was friendly, knowledgable, and quick with the delivery. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. The price for the drinks were fair, my order was delicious, and the vibes were wonderful. It may not be THE place in SD but a great to be at if you're in the area. The menu isn't too plentiful but they have a few good things if you're hungry. For those that are in SD and want to avoid the hustle and bustle of SD, this is a nice local place to check out. I had the brown sugar latte. It was so good. It was sweet, without being syrupy. I usually don't put any sweetener in my coffee, but this was really yummy! The atmosphere was great. My wife and I really enjoyed this place. I got the cinnamon roll latte, and she got the pecan praline latte so we did kind of go out on a limb trying holiday special drinks so we weren't too upset when the pecan drink wasn't her favorite...but it wasn't bad, just not the best. BUT, my cinnamon roll latte was DELICIOUS. Tasted just like the perfect cinnamon roll and really brought out my holiday cheer lol. Wow. We used to frequent the former coffee shop in its place (Friendly Grounds) and were sad when they closed. Not crying crocodile tears for them anymore!! This place is FANTASTIC. From decor, to coffee, to tea offerings....LOVE! Let's break it down: // cappuccino and lattes were incredibly smooth. The little cup the capp came in was beyond adorable. The barista drew a pretty leaf design in the foam. Almost too pretty to drink. // the barista was so sweet and masterfully crafted the drinks. She took time and answered all our menu questions. // huge upgrade from the previous layout. I love the new furniture and there are ample tables. // they carry Harney & Sons teas! Such a treat seeing these as I've only come across a few fancy restaurants that carry the brand. // volcano candles !! They have little items for sale , but this made me squeal in delight. My fave candles at a coffee shop? I'm sold! // priced well ... capp was $2.75. // if Anthropologie opened a coffee shop, this would be it. Loved the interior so much! I love this place! The açaí bowl is amazing! They really listen to reviews and adjust accordingly. I've read some reviews that complain about them not having certain options. But all of that is changed! It is very sweet. But I'm happy with that, it just doesn't seem as healthy as other places. But the granola is amazing! This is my new favorite place for açaí bowls! I love searching around for local coffee shops and trying out their drinks. The place seems very comfortable and well furnished if you are looking for a place to finish up some work or have some studying to do. All the staff here are nice and friendly and every thing is clean. The only thing is, I was not impressed with their coffee. I am quite picky with what I look for in coffee and I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately I didn't find their coffee to be worth the price tag. I got a caramel latte and my girlfriend got a vanilla latte and both of our drinks were very mediocre and pricey. read more

Amazing coffee!!! You can tell it's quality and unique. I need to go back (probably tomorrow ), but I believe I tasted some spice notes (almost like cinnamon), and some delightful fruitiness. I stopped by this spot by chance this morning after walking at Santee Lake. I Yelped some coffee shops near me as I don't often visit this area. I live in Central SD near lots of great cafes. The service is hit or miss at a lot of these places, but I had a good vibe walking in here. The staff was super friendly and my order came out lightning quick despite ordering three items while a small crowd had built up inside. I ordered a caramel oat milk latte. The syrup, espresso, and oat milk were smooth and made a great combination together. Who knew that Santee has some of the best coffee I've had in San Diego County. I teased my friend in Santee that I am going to visit them more so I can try other drinks at this cafe and I will be back soon! read more

Terrible place, went this morning to get an americano with a splash of half and half. I got it and drove home only to find the cream was spoiled (chunks of cream accumulated around the sides and floating in it). I drove all the way back and told them, they remade the drink and told me they didn't put half and half because all of theirs were spoiled. I wonder how many other people they potentially poisoned today. This isn't the first time I've had problems so I will write this place off and not return. read more

My favorite coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, most just taste like milk and acid to me. But Kaffee Meister makes a realllllly good Honey Lavender Latte. Very simple drink, the lavender and honey does not mask a bitter bean. They're just a hint of flavor to enhance the actual coffee. That ambiance here is super cool and everybody here is very welcoming. The staff here is nice and friendly and really know how to make good coffee. My favorite coffee shop!! Not only is their coffee amazing, but I love that you can place your order online, and pick it up. They will even bring it out to your car if you call and ask. Whenever I am planning on grabbing coffee on my way to work, I always stop here instead of dealing with the crazy starbucks line. I've tried to go here at least once a week during the pandemic. My daughter likes their acai bowls and they've got a nice Moroccan mint tea I like. But today, I went in for an acai bowl and was told they couldn't make one for me because they were closing in four minutes. Now, I've been in this exact situation in food service and it sucks - you want to clean up and go home. But the posted hours were to 5:00, not 4:56 - and that doesn't count the four minutes I waited to be helped because they were a little busy. I'll probably go back sometime because my kid likes their acai bowls, but Everbowl is closer anyway and there are plenty of places to get good tea. UPDATE 6/1 - been back a few times and gotten the great, friendly service and good food & drink I regularly get. Owner quickly apologized after the first review - all you can ask for.
