As someone who loves flavor, sauces and great food, I order two things from here and never leave disappointed. I've grown up eating malai chicken at weddings and events and even leisurely. I first tried Kababjees malai chicken, because my parents brought it home for me. It literally melted in my mouth- that's how juicy and tender and well marinated it was! I've ordered it again after on my own and still enjoyed it - this time with naan but I think the naan kills it. The chicken and marinade and sauces work really well without bread so keep that in mind. Yesterday, my mom brought me tufani aloo and malai chicken (yes I really enjoy the chicken). I was so confused about the aloo until I looked it up- those spiral potatoes you see all over the world on Instagram- yep it's those! Chairs are super uncomfortable; the more you eat, the heavier you get, the heavier you get, the deeper you sink in them. BUT The karahi and Gola kababs are really delicious! I love this spot. I love the feeling in the restaurant when you walk in. They have a rickshaw parked In the restaurant. The goat kadhai is on point. The naan is so soft and yummy. Also must try the chole... I actually enjoyed that very much. This restaurant is special to me because this is where my husband's family and my family had the first meeting before we got married. They got along the first time. The prices are very good. They added more wall art and more things that makes the restaurant nicer looking. The haleem was not bad either. Tried kababjees with the fam yesterday and we are all now obsessed! The place seemed kind of ‍ when we first walked in and I wasn't super excited about the food but it ended up being such a yummy experience. I have now been there on a Monday and Tuesday, and thankfully we didn't go during their super busy times but apparently the weekends are popppping! I have heard from several other people at this point that they went on weekends and had to deal with 1+ hour waits - and literally 4/4 of them were super satisfied with their experiences and returned either the next day, or within the same week. Chicken karahi - DELICIOUS. If you order by pound they make it fresh; 100% recommend this because we tried it both ways and it was def better freshly prepared. I also really enjoyed the chicken dhaga kebab, bihari boti and the chicken malai garlic mayo rolls. I'm not a huge fan of daal so that was whatever to me. I also tried their chicken cheese kebabs which were good and malai chicken, which was also good. Basically everything was really good but I loved the chicken karahi, dhaga kebab and bihari boti especially. We were given some spicy white biryani to try on our second visit on the house and guys - I don't like biryani but it was SOOOOOO GOOOODDD!!!! Definitely our new favorite pakistani food spot, super recommend to any desi people living on the island. You're missing out if you haven't tried it. This is our second time trying Kebab Jees. The first time they gave us uncooked Gola Kebabs. Uncooked as in RAW on the inside and completely unedible. Because of convenience we tried it again after 4 years. They let us down again. We ordered 8 seekh kebebs to be picked up at 3 PM, we got there at 3:10 to give them some extra time. They said it wont be ready for another 20 minutes!!! They expected us to waste 20 minutes waiting there like we have nothing else to do. read more

There are numerous Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Hicksville - with a high turn-around. Only the very good ones have lasted beyond a few years. This new restaurant opened in the space previously occupied by Tandoori Touch (a restaurant that promoted itself as Indo-Chinese). Kababjees is actually a chain-restaurant originating in Karachi. This is the second location in the States (the other is in the Chicago suburbs). It's located in a strip-mall on South Broadway. Kababjees, as the name implies, specializes in BBQ meats. My first visit was actually take-out on a Saturday evening, the night following their Grand Opening day. Nice, simple decor. My order was ready at the agreed upon time. Nicely and securely packaged. They have a display showcasing all the cuts of meat they offer. Ordered and sampled a few dishes: Beef Seekh Kabob & Lamb Seekh Kabob - one of the few Indian/Pakistani places I know that offer these (most offer Chicken Seekh Kabob). Nicely seasoned and prepared. Malai Chicken Tikaa - superb. Very moist and true to the "malai" seasoning; melt-in-mouth good Haryali Lamb Chops - very flavorful large pieces. May be a little too "fatty" for some. They offer smaller sized Goat chops as well. Grilled Lamb shank - it's ok. Beef Haleem - very good. A lot of places make this from a box mix. This place is made from scratch. This is the place you should definitely go for your Haleem-fix. Daal Maash Fry & Palak Paneer - I would pass. Stick with the BBQ items Plain & Garlic Naan - solid. Food on its own is good. I had the Chicken Karahi - nice and flavorful. You buy based on how many pounds of Karahi you want to eat - usually family style works here. Their naans weren't the best that I've had but complimented well with the curries. Their kababs aren't the best either but work fine when eaten with the sauces. Now their juicy and tikka rolls, those are amazing! BUT they only serve them at specific times, I've went in multiple times and I've found they don't make them, which is pretty sad since I find that to be their best product overall. The decor is nice, gives you the Paki vibes. But on a busy weekend, you will find it hard to be served in a sufficient timely manner and parking can be a hassle. Chef Faisal cooks the best Pakistani food period!! It's been a long time coming for NYers to have authentic Pakistani Restaurant. The food is the best in Tri-State, the BBQ like Chicken Bihari, Gola and Seekh Kababs are our of this world but the Karahi takes the trophy. Fresh meat/chicken Karahi prepared just for you and served with great naans. Unfortunately most people in NY will not enjoy the waiting part which is long since every Kabab is made fresh to order. I saw many people complaining about food taking long initially but then leaving more than satisfied. I suggest you to order all things at once as they don't microwave and serve like other places. I was looking forward to visiting Kababjees after reading all the great prior reviews, however, my experience was below expectations. I went out there for a sit down with three additional family members but the restaurant had a two hour wait and we decided to take out instead. We ordered the following items: two lbs of goat karhai made to order, two orders of gola kabab, one order of chicken behari, two chicken kababs, six naans (three regular and three garlic), and two orders of kheer. Goat karhai in my opinion was the least flavored items of all the dishes ordered. It had no taste, meat was chewy, meat was chopped improperly, it smelled, it had no gravy, it appeared to be fried in oil and spices poured over. For a $22/lbs item I was expecting quality and there was none. Gola kababs were good. Chicken seekh kababs were good. Behari chicken kababs were disappointing. Didn't appeared to be freshly made and taste was not as expected, it tasted more like moist chicken tikka boti. Naans were average. Not sure why garlic naan had to be $2.5 a pop. Kheer was great and probably the best item I ordered on their menu. Few other minor things not a big deal but necessary for a quality restaurant; they forgot few items that I paid for and later added after I complained which they also apologized for. Their quality of packaging was pretty bad; for approx. $100 order I expected better packaging of the items ordered. There is a possibility that due to a big crowd and under staffed restaurant their food quality suffered during my visit and that is just unfortunate. My family and I just got home from eating at Kababjees and all I have to say is WOW, the food was flavorful and plentiful. 2 very important components on how to make a customer happy! My family started off with their chicken Karahi, which was actually pretty darn spicy until our lovely waitress brought us a newer dish but less spicy and my family loved it. Last time I was here there were multiple parties that came from Queens just to try this place. I decided to make a eingt on S Broadway from Old Coutry Road to see if I can find a place . As I cruised along I decided to go into The plaza where Kababjee is located. I went inside and asked for a menu and then decided to sit down to eat . I ordered a Chicken Tikka cheese roll. I quickly realized this place is the real deal, because at this time of the afternoon , you had folks eating like on six tables.amd there were a lot of servers awaiting to serve you. In addition the atmosphere and deco seems authentic but I was not sure what type of restauraunt if it was Afghani ,Indian or Persian. I asked the server and she told me it is Pakistani. The chicken roll was real good and then I ordered a Kulfi, now this is the killer, it was the best Kulfi I have ever had. I inquired and on e of the managers showed me that they make those own Kulfis. Highly recommend if you are looking for good Indian/ Pakistani food. And kids will love it as well. 2) Chicken Malai Tikka (bbq section) is hands down the best malai chicken I've ever had...perfect flavor perfect juicyness/tenderness. 3) Chicken Karahi by the pound...ok I can't come to Kababjees and not get this dish. They make it fresh so you can also say how spicy you want it. It's a must try and you will not regret. What to try: 1) gola kabab, so I know a lot of people who always get this dish but I guess I'm just not a gola kabab type girl. It is definitely amazing though which is why I said you should try it. 2) the mayo garlic rolls...they're good but the paratha can be soggy many of the times so I say try it and see for yourself. It's a good option for kids though. Unfortunately, I've never tried their zinger burger because they seem to never have it or are unwilling to make it because they are busy. Okay so I came here two/three weeks ago and I had to take out two stars because we saw a medium sized roach where we were sitting and were about to eat. So if there is one there is many. I felt disgusted and kept on looking down by my feet to see if there were more but we only saw one which was by the window. The people sitting in the back of us noticed as well. However, the food was good and everything was on point but like the portions were so darn small. So if you think coming here is worth it and you don't care about roach infestation or your wallet then it's ok. But I don't think I will be coming back here. read more

The server also had detailed knowledge of the food which I too was impressed with because let's face it folks, when it comes to desi food, we don't get that much detail such as "lahori kulcha can be made thinner if you don't like to have a heavy bread" or "2 lbs of each meat is going to be a lot for 2 people, are you sure ?". We ordered food from from this place through the GrubHub app in Yelp. We got a confirmation that the food would be done in 35 to 50 minutes, I went to pick up the food and the young lady at the counter says we turn our GrubHub order off and are not accepting any orders. I told her that my order had already gone in and Yelp and GrubHub had confirmed it. She proceeded to tell me no look our machine is off, subsequently then she turned it on The order came through I had already had confirmations from Yelp that my order had gone through. I went there after 45 minutes after putting the order and ask for the yelp email. She proceeded to tell me it would take me another hour wait in order to get my order completed. Obviously I told him I was going to wait another hour talk to the manager to expedite it can't just randomly turn off the system. The food might be good I suppose I don't know I didn't get to try it but unbelievable horrible customer service If I could give zero stars I would if I could give negative stars I would; what an unbelievably rude approach to customer service. Was in this deserted looking strip mall looking for a quick tasting lunch since my car was being serviced at the dealership across the street. Went inside around noon and the entire place was empty except for another couple. I ordered the lamb chops and roti. The server prepared at complimentary salad for me and also brought out a chicken tikka masala that was on the house. The lamb chops was pretty tasty and the Tikka masala was delicious and full of spice. This place surprised me with the quality of their food!
