We came on a week night around 5:30pm, and we were the only ones there. There was one other table by the time we left. The food and service were excellent though. I got the lamb biryani and a mango lassi. There was so much rice that it could probably feed three people! The lamb though, wasn't quite as generous. I got it medium spicy. It had a kick but wasn't overwhelming. I also really liked the mango lassi. It had a strong yogurt flavor and not as sugary as other places. Our server was very friendly. Driven by here a million times while out running errands, but recently was finally able to come in for dinner. The location is very convenient to all the shopping that Ross has to offer, and the parking lot is very large. When we slowed up with our group of 8, we were the only patrons at 5:30 on a Saturday. That made me a little nervous, but as the night wore on more people came. Service was very slow and they were out of many of the children's menu items (French fries and chicken nuggets), but whatever they did have they had large portions of. This is definitely a place where you can come hungry and leave full with leftovers to spare! The naan and chicken makhani that I ordered were tasty and I appreciated that it came with a side of rice that was prepared in biryani style and had some nice flavors and textures beyond what you would normally see on just a basmati rice. read more

Driving on the busy McKnight road, you cannot miss the sign so after driving passed by a couple of times stopped by on a Saturday morning and tried their weekend brunch. We got there when they opened so had the place to ourselves but by the time, we were heading out, it was starting to hop. The ambiance is cozy and has nice wall decor and ample parking and seating space. The inside was clean. Now onto the food itself. It seemed more authentic compared to multiple other Pakistani-Indian restaurants that I have tried. It was not spicy but had a lot of flavor! There were some dishes that I have not seen at other places and hence have not been able to try for a long time. My husband and I enjoyed our chicken tikka masala (tailored to our preferred level of spiciness), our mixed vegetables (spicy), our rice (spicy), and our garlic naan. I was visiting my sister so she told me the food here is good so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a chicken Kabob platter, Karhai and their Roghni Naan. We got the food fairly fast. The food was tasty and good. It was perfectly warm. We overall liked the food. The only reason I'm leaving 4 star is because we asked for spicy and the food given to us was more like Mild but of course we were so hungry that we didn't wanted to deal with them remaking the food or complain. It was completely empty on a Saturday night when we arrived; as such, we were skeptical of the experience but kept an open mind in the spirit of supporting local. I have driven past it dozens of times since 2019 whenever I was in Ross for work or visits and never had a chance to stop by mainly since I'm going 50mph as the jagoffs behind me tailgate closely and make it impossible to turn; it is right off the freeway (jagoff is pittsburghese so it's ok around here) but I finally made the impossible turn into the parking lot on a weekend Lunch time . The food is really good flavorful. I hardly get to have Pakistani food as most common options are southern or Northern Indian but this one is really good with friendly staff and nice homey atmosphere. The buffet is definitely worth coming here for. You get a lot of yummy foods and the mango lassi is delicious. The owner also is a very nice man! I think this restaurant deserves a lot more business than it does. However, the one time I came many months back, I ordered the tikka masala as an entree and was a little disappointed in the flavor. However, returning now, I was very impressed. The tandoori chicken I had was super tender and juicy which is not always the case. This impressed me! I stopped by here a couple of Saturday's ago with my wife for dinner. We had both watched the Kabab King take over the old Pizza Hut on McKnight and were looking forward to trying it. Then the pandemic happened and we sort of forgot about it for a while but were happy to see that it was open whenever we finally passed by it again. So we decided to try it for dinner that weekend. We ended up placing a to go order via phone and whenever we arrived our food was ready for us. The lady who waited on me inside ended up being super nice which is always a bonus. For dinner on this evening my wife and I decided to split an order of garlic naan while for my entree I went with the chicken hiryali and my wife chose the kofta. I have to admit that I didn't know what chicken hiryali was and really only became intrigued with it based on the pictures of green chicken on Yelp. However after reading a bit more about it, I was more than happy to order it. It proved to be a good decision too as the flavor of the herbs and spices was outstanding while the chicken was still moist and juicy. My only complaint about the dish is that there wasn't more chicken because it was quite good! My wife's kofta ended up being one chicken and one beef and whenever I tried it I loved it due to it actually being quite spicy. As for the naan here, it was ok, but compared to the entrees it was not nearly as exciting. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I've been here several times now and the food is always great! This last time I got the chicken curry and you can choose your spice level. I chose medium and it was perfect. The chicken was so tender too! I also tried the Dahl Makhani this time as well. It's a lentil dish with ginger, onions and peppers - so good! Enough tasty options for me to come back and enjoy a meal, but it's hard to do it over Taj Mahal across the street at the same price point for 3x as many options on the buffet. The tandoori chicken with jalapeño stood out along with their cauliflower dish. There was a chicken dish in a yellow sauce that I fished around to find actual chicken...it tasted like straight queso (and I was the 2nd person at the buffet so it was a fresh pan). This place probably has the best rice in all of Pittsburgh. And I say this as someone who didn't even order a rice-based dish! I got the Chana masala, paratha, gulab jamun, and vegetable samosas. When I first arrived to the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly lady who quickly found my takeout order and gave me a compliment. I'd think the service would be quite good here. My Chana masala was excellent, maybe the best in Pittsburgh. The sauce was thick and had a nice undertone of sweetness, which is not usually present in masala sauces. It was a bit more on the oily side, though, but the oil did have a good flavor too. The portion was great. I thought the spice was perfect, but it would be nice if the website asked for spice level or customization. The main entree is accompanied by delicious rice. It has the perfect amount of oil, spice, salt, and carrots (or some orange vegetable). The paratha is not very airy, as it is more of a heavy bread. It's pretty good, but in my opinion, not worth $4. Next time, I will likely order naan. The samosas are really excellent though! Absolutely huge, full of potato chunks, nice bits of chunks, and great crisp too. The gulab jamun were quite tasty, too. Decent amount of syrup and good size to them, although they were not that exciting. Again, I'm not sure if it's worth $8 for 4 gulab jamuns, but they are tasty. Overall, the food is excellent. I was really really hoping for a better experience. I try to eat clean and how can you go wrong with chicken & rice? The Chicken Samosa were thigh meat which were mostly bones. I weight all of my food for my macros. Of the 8 Oz of chick thigh meat, I ended up with 3 Oz of edible meat. The Kababs, I just couldn't even eat, it was processed "chicken" meat. Looked like a chicken meatball with spices. I was hoping for tradition Kababs, actual chicken meat. When I pulled the house salad out of the bag, the container opened up from the chefs greasy hands that the container hit the ground. Sadly I will not be back. Have dined here a many times, starting with the week they first opened. Each time I eat here I think I'm not coming back. And then I think maybe it's gotten better, but it hasn't. The food is decent enough. Probably a 4, maybe a 5. But the ambience and service is more like a 1 or 2. This hollowed out Pizza Hut looks just like, well, a hollowed out Pizza Hut. No changes or upgrades have really been made. And while the service was nice when they first opened, it's become really terrible. Just tonight, there must have been family members of the restaurant owners dining in the restaurant, and they were intolerable. Shouting, walking back and forth from their table to the kitchen, and just generally being disruptive to everyone else trying to enjoy their meal. I'm really not sure why this place has 4.5 stars. I'm guessing it has to be mostly takeout patrons. Again, the food is good (good, not great). But the ambience and service are just really, really bad. read more

This place is amazing! My cousins and I ordered from here via Uber eats and everything was perfect. We ordered the huge Kabob King combination platter and it featured everything from lamb, chicken hiryala tikka, chicken kababs, kofta, chicken samosa, and tandoor chicken leg. We also ordered a salad, garlic naan and goat curry. First off, I did not expect the flavors to be on point. But you get strong Indian flavors with that Pakistani head. We loved the lamb, kabobs and samosas. Flavors were on point, meats grilled perfectly and the meats weren't try at all. Sometimes with some of the specialty meats they can be a lil gamey, but you definitely don't get that here. Between 6 people this was plentiful as they give you a generous portion of the rice sides. We had a little more than a third of our food left for leftovers. Price wise its really reasonable. Even with Uber eats our food came on time and was piping hot. I pass this restaurant every night on my way home from work. On a whim, I decided to order take out, and we were so glad we did! Started with the samosa which was crazy good. Crispy on the outside, soft potatoey goodness inside. In fact, it was MY order of samosas, but then my boyfriend came over with his fork and though he was offered a bite he ate the whole thing. Its okay. Who am I to stand in the way of true love? We had the chicken kababs and they were absolutely delicious. I dont know what they put in them but they were great. We also had the chicken tikka, which was absolutely delicious. Sometimes chicken tikka is greasy; no from Kabab King. It was the perfect mixture of spice and tomato. I thought the prices were excellent, and the food was so good I'm probably going to use their catering for my birthday party. I've only had take out, but look forward to checking the restaurant out. Open when a lot of restaurants aren't during the holidays. Lots of seating. Lamb curry was good though sauce is more like a soup. Goat biryani was really good. You get a lot of biryani with your dishes and we end up bringing a lot home for leftovers. Daughter ate the Naan. We didn't try any of the kids meals but they do offer it. Mango Lassi is not as sweet as some places which was a good thing chicken Tikka Masada was just what my older daughter was craving. We got medium spice which isn't too spicy for us but I did find myself dipping into the yogurt sauce occasionally to cleanse the palate. They were out again of the potato and eggplant dish I've been wanting to try for awhile so we got the potato and Peas instead. Very filling.
