The chairs are extremely comfortable, but it's sad to see obvious animosity between employees. The younger employee does not seem to like the older employee and it was obvious. I was so looking forward to a pedicure. Before I even got seated, I had a book thrown in my face to pick the better pedicure instead of the standard. He said it would be so much better. It was a joke. He massaged my legs a couple of times and that was it. He also cut two toes on my right foot, one of them now is infected. The acrylic paint job is awful, looks caked on. The paint is uneven, the shapes horrible, every single one of my fingers is cut ESPECIALLY my middle finger, 20 lbs of acrylic per finger. I had a mani/pedi in the mall about two weeks ago, and it was pretty bad. The gel's on my little toes popped off after about a week. And by a week and a half, I looked like I needed a fresher. I didn't want to go back to the mall of course, so I look up nail spas and found KA. I did a walk in, fairly early in the day, and they got me right in. First thing I noticed, was how immaculate the spa is. Tony (Duy) was my tech. He got my fingers to soaking to get the old gel off and started with my pedi (I went with the elegant pedi that includs a lot of things!) So, the second thing I really noticed was how nice the massage/pedi chairs are. When we finished that, he gave me a great manicure. My nails had been in pretty bad shape before my mall manicure, and the tech there didn't do much to try to even them out. Tony did though! I feel like they're finally the right shape and that now, with the gels, I can grow them out a bit. The thing that impressed me most was that he would quietly check with me through everything to make sure everything was ok and that I liked it. I sure didn't get that treatment in the mall! I will be be back to KA. I think they did a wonderful job. read more

This was the absolutely worst pedicure I have ever had. The nail tech acted as if I was a bother to her. Very unfriendly and was in a rush to complete the pedicure so she could go to the back and sit down. She was completed with the pedicure in 20 minutes! I was very disappointed in the service I received... I was looking forward to a nice relaxing moment. I was trying to stay local to support our community but I am sorry to say I will not return to KA Nails Day. read more

My wife and I have been going to KA Nails for 3 years and have always had a very pleasant experience getting Mani and Pedicures. Getting an appointment has been easy and saves time from just walking in. Selina is who I like doing my pedi"s and mani's (on occasion), she is friendly and careful. I have been to four other nail salons in Ocala and I like KA the best. I usually just do walk in. They are really nice and accommodating. The salon is clean and they use fresh packets of clean appliances. My nails have always looked good. While I was there a customer came in that had lost a nail and they fixed it for her with out any problems. read more

I had the worst experience here with my mother in law and daughter. These people are liars and thieves. They DO NOT give services that they say they do. Made an appointment for 3 mani/pedi. Arrived 15 mins early just to find out there were not enough staff to do the job. Pedicure is not what they advertised it to be including a massage which was never given and when asked about it... she lied and said she did and I didn't see it. Which was a bunch of BS. She continued to yell at me in front of my child. I asked for a pricing list and she said she didn't have one... charged me $25 for a polish change on a child. Such a rip off. I have been going here for a few months now. So far, these are the best I have gotten my nails done in Ocala. The only thing I was caught off guard was they charged $5 to shape my nails to coffin. I have never had that charge before. But they do a great job so I didn't complain. Also the pedicure was the best I have gotten anywhere else. I enjoyed it so much I brought my husband with me the next time. The chairs are so comfortable you will fall asleep. They not only polished my toes but also massaged my feet and legs. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If I could give them a 0 - I most definitely would!! We made an appointment for 5:30 for mani/pedi, the lady who was doing my pedicure was so sweet but super slow. The OWNER who said she was not the owner kept coming back telling the person doing my pedi to hurry up. The owner then came back and started my manicure while I was getting a pedi, the manicure lasted 7 min. I was supposed to get gel on them but, by the time my pedi was done it was 6:45 - I told owner I would come back when they had more time and she said it would be 15 for a half ass manicure so I said polish them.....what was I thinking - they look horrible!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Firstly they don't play music or anything in the salon so it was awkwardly quiet especially with me being the only customer among two workers. The pedicure I got was not well done, barely did any scrubbing with the pummus stone & my toenails weren't well prepped before paint was put on them. Then getting a full set of acrylic nails was a nightmare for lack of a better word. I really don't write reviews on places but I read them often & my experience was so unenjoyable I feel the need to share. I wanted simple all black, claw shaped nails that were short. He started off with drilling my nails for texture so the acrylics would stick which is fine I waited for him to finish but then he started to glue the tips on , so I asked him if he was going to clean my cuticles at all which is a normal part of prepping for acrylic nails.. mine were admittedly looking not great but pushing back nail beds and cutting cuticles is STANDARD for prepping for a full set of nails. He argued with me how that would be a manicure & they would charge extra for that & somehow he would do it after he applied the acrylics. None of that logically makes sense and is price gauging on top of not even doing the service correctly. But I digressed and just let him continue gluing on the tips. I also personally ask for an extra dot of nail glue on each of my nails at salons after they add glue because I use my hands often. When I asked him to after he finished gluing them all on he grabbed my hand and said that he wouldn't do that because it'll stick to my skin(?). Which I reasonably understand the hesitance at first but I explain i'm fine with that & I use my hands often so I notice that when an extra dot of glue is added in the middle it works better for me. As I was explaining this to him he threw the nail glue down at the table in front of me , got up and walked to the back of the salon while taking to the one other person in the salon in their native language. I asked as he was walking away did I say something wrong ??? No answer. The lady gets up from the front desk, goes to the nail station next to me and says come over here i'm gonna finish your nails. I ask the lady did I say something wrong ?? She ignores me. I get up , put my cup on her desk and ask for the third time did I say something wrong ? She said no , i'm just gonna be doing your nails. Just so offputting all around. So I now sit at this lady's station & I ask her if she'll put an extra dot of glue on each nail for me , to which she goes on a tangent about how it's not necessary & i'm like fine at this point I just want my nails done (Spoiler alert : My nail literally became loose that night. it's been 2 days since I've had these nails , my pinky nail hanging on for dear life & I haven't even done anything strenuous). She cuts the length of my nails , which are SHORT but she charged me for medium length. I have my nails the shortest they've ever been as acrylics , not even a full inch long & very close to the length of my actual nail. $10 extra. then to have a triangle shape which is literally the same amount of filing as coffin nails $5 extra. Let's talk about the shape -- horrible !!! They're basically oval , she put NO time into shaping them well , none of them look even & to have the audacity to charge me extra for a service that should be included in doing my nails & the shape is bad is just disgraceful. Once she drilled down the acrylic she was so rough around the cuticles two of my fingers were bleeding. Oh! How could I forget to mention that she made me pay while I had just the tips glued on my fingers. I hate my nails. The cuticles look even more fucked up than they were before , two fingers have cuts , the shape is so ugly , my nails are uneven , & my nail started to pop off the same night !! Only 2 days later and im probably gonna have to add my own nail glue already. The way the man threw the nail glue in my face for asking two simple questions really was unacceptable. Their pricing and scams to get you to conform to their pricing is honestly unacceptable. The quality of their services is unacceptable. I regret tipping them $5 even. Seriously any other nail salon would be better than this one with both quality and pricing. & I'd like to add I am a really timid, respectful N kind personality to everyone especially customer service workers as that's the industry i've worked in for years , and I think that's also what really made this more shocking to me because asking two simple questions should not have warranted the experience I had. read more

showed up today for a 10am appt for a pedicure (3 of us) and there were only two employees - one giving a manicure and one giving a pedicure. Neither of them got up to greet us. We sat for 10 minutes with no indication of assistance. I finally asked one of the employees about our appt. All he said was "I don't know nothing", "Manager not tell me anything". There were three others waiting. Customer service is key and for the employees to just see us and not say anything was poor. I can honestly say i have no complaints. Everyone is nice, the place smells great. Usually places wreak of nail supplies. Even though it does have that smell its not over powering and stifling. I am a bit of a germaphobe so when i saw how sanitary, clean, well-kept the setting and people are i was astonished. Granted this place is new but i can see myself coming back. read more

Scheduled a manicure and a pedicure for 2 o'clock. 35 minutes later from the time I put my feet in the water it was done. Instead of doing manicure first, the tech did the pedicure first and then attempted to do the manicure in the pedicure chair with me bent over like a pretzel while balancing the bowl of water on my lap. I might add that I am an old woman who is handicapped, so this was very uncomfortable, hardly a relaxing afternoon at the spa. And for this service they charged $55 -- reasonable if it is a quality service, but this was stressful and painful. Oh, and the tech answered the phone and made appointments while she was clipping by nails. Never again. There are too many other salons around who welcome the customers and want to deliver quality service. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for 3 years and have always been happy with the fills, gel polish and pedicures. I typically have a fill every 2-3 weeks and a pedicure once a month. I have had good experiences with pedicures. My nail experiences have been disappointing over the last 3 visits. The acrylic is cracking/breaking, the gel polish is chipping. I also had a new set put on 2 months ago which is lifting. I'm sorry to say that I will be going elsewhere. read more

I went to this nail salon in hopes to get my nails painted. Well, about an hour before we arrived we called the salon to make sure they could accept us, because we were walk-in clients. They said if we came by noon, we would be able to get in no problem. An hour passed and as I went to check in, they said they had no openings until 2. I explained that I had called recently and that they said 12. The whole staff stared at me as if I were some physco. They then just said to come inside and were able to take my sister in. When I sat down to wait, there was a lady there who was already getting a manicure. Her friend was sitting right next to us, and she kept mouthing words to her. I couldn't make out what she was saying, but her expressions showed that she was not happy. A few moments later, she mouthed the words "run". I didn't think anything of it, until I knew what was going on. The client's friend who was sitting next to us explained that a few minutes before we walked in, a physical fight broke out amongst the staff. Arguing, Screaming, and even a nail clipper being thrown across the salon was what consisted of the fight. With this in mind, we had sketchy feelings about this salon. That was until the clients friend sitting next to us asked her friend how her nails looked. Her response was "Do you want me to lie? These are the most horrible nails I've ever had. They are crooked, and none of them are even slightly straight. I asked for black coffin nails and they do not look anything like it!" After that disruptance, we knew we should probably leave. As the client went to pay and the nail tech told her total, she went beserk. " $48 dollars?! I am not paying 48 dollars for 20 dollars worth of work. As the two bickered, we picked our stuff up and left. As we got outside after about 30 minutes of waiting, I examined my sisters nails. Only 3 of them had been painted and the job was very bad. Her fingers had paint all over them and the nails themselves were not good. This was our very first time trying out this salon as local Marion county resident, and the overall experience was awful. I do not recommend going here, it was not a very pleasant environment to say the least. read more
