DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!!!!! I didn't find him on Yelp until after I hired him. And now I see why with some of the other reviews here. He was an asshole to me and my husband almost treating us like dogs needing to be trained. He spent most of the time that he was here telling us what kind of things we needed to buy and rapidly saying things we needed to do for training, without having time to write them down, with no option to record it, no training paperwork. And it wasn't clear what we were getting for our $500 that I feel we wasted on him. I have included the only paper we saw. The little scribble on the right is what we paid for according to him. This is the only place I can leave a review because he asked me to give a positive review of just the evaluation meeting through Thumbtack. He also has complaints at BBB. My husband had to ask him to leave today on the 2nd visit!!! He is a big guy and can be intimidating as well, just so you know.

DO YOU RESEARCH ON THIS GUY!! make sure you read the complaints filed against him here at the BBB https://www.bbb.org/us/az/phoenix/profile/pet-training/k9katelynn-1126-1000012821 He is doing the same scam to me now. Ever wonder why all his reviews on thumbtack are on how he responds quickly, and on youtube how all his videos are dogs on treadmills and nothing else? and why there are multiple business profiles of him on Google all with different star rating? Well let me tell you... I got a dog while working from home and had 90 days before my job changed to possibly going back in the office, to work on separation anxiety issues and my dog being comfortable in the kennel. Tom with k9katelynn is a complete and udder scammer. He states initial visit is free of charge but than charges you $75 for his "car" maintenance. So technically first visit is not free. After talking to him about our training needs at the initial visit which were for separation anxiety, kennel training, and 3 commands we decided to move forward at $250 a visit for 6 visits, and I had a 90 day deadline to get the separation issue and kennel issue under control, Tom stated I will be good to go at the end of the 90 days. Now we signed a form stating we agreed to his services and after requesting a copy of this form multiple times, I never did receive a copy. Which should have been a red flag to me, but this is dog training so I didn't think to much of it. Now our first visit after we hired him Tom shows up and wasted the WHOLE hour reading off a list of EXTRA items we need to purchase, such as collar, leash, treats, toys, etc. This list should have been emailed to me and or handed to me after we hired him. Not waste $250 to tell me what I need to buy. At this visit I informed Tom we got a treadmill ( Tom is BIG BIG BIG on exercising your do on a treadmill, he seems to think this will solve a majority of my separation issue and kennel issue) and he told me to make sure prior to our next visit (2 weeks later) that my dog is comfortable sitting and laying on the treadmill. Visit #2 Tom shows up to do the treadmill training, now mind you, I already got my dog comfortable getting onto the treadmill and laying down or just standing there, Tom precedes to turn the treadmill on and choke drag my dog onto it while it is running, instead of having my dog step on the treadmill which he is already comfortable with and than turn it on, so this was upsetting to me. Mentioned to Tom at this visit that my dog is still not doing well with the kennel training and is actually getting worse, and Toms recommendation was exercise him on the treadmill daily and tire him out more and leave him in the kennel for longer periods. Visit #3 Tom shows up and we tell him my dog is not really enjoying the treadmill, he is really lagging and trying to get off alot, Tom responds to continue daily and increase the time and speed and he will fall in line, I mention again the kennel issue getting worse and again im told to exercise him and leave in longer. I explain to him I am walking him 2 miles around the neighborhood, than running errands with him, than treadmill for 2 miles and still now happy in the kennel, he still states to leave in longer and with the biting of the kennel my dog is doing to just put a piece of acrylic plastic around the kennel so he cant bite at it... EXCUSE me how is this correcting this behavior??? it is only masking the issue! Than he chooses to train us on how to walk my dog, when we never asked for training on this because we don't have an issue with walking on a leash, so this visit being $250 again and not anything I asked for help on, fast forward to visit #4 where he chooses again to ignore my issues with the kennel and separation anxiety, and still insists the treadmill and exercise and leaving him in the kennel longer will work, regardless of how much exercise and time in the kennel he spends, he just is never settling and Tom doesn't seem to care or know what to do in this instance. So, we move to working on the "place" command where he gets the bright idea to use a towel, as the placement on our wood floor, and states that anytime a paw is of the placement we have to start the place command all over again. Well every time you move or walk on the towel the towel moves and gets scrunched up, so when at one time the dog did have all 4 paws on the towel, anytime there is movement he gets a paw off, so this is all just confusing to the dog because he doesn't understand the moving towel under him. After these multiple visits of him ignoring my 2 MAIN issues and not addressing other matters to fix them I chose it was best to part ways, after requesting a refund from him for the 2 wasted visits and the 2 visits I haven't used he is refusing to give them to me because I won't discuss the matter over the phone and I want everything in writing. you can see proof below of this. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB.

Read my text and did not respond
Breanna D.

At first they were very quick to respond which I appreciated, we planned to do an evaluation on Oct 17 at 9am. The day and time came and I was never reassured beforehand on them still coming and when it was ten minutes past 9am I texted and called and got no answer. Very rude and disrespectful. They make you write a review before any evaluation or training on Thumbtack which is deceiving. Horrible business.

The shelter we got her from recommended another dog trainer/behavior specialist that we consulted with first, however we didn't have great feelings about that option so we decided to look elsewhere. We came across All American K9 & the phone call we had with Bob sold it all. He was not pushy, selling, nor trying to sway us for a board & train. Matter of fact, he recommended private sessions instead of the board & train - which is what we were pushed to thinking was the only option from the previous behavioral specialist consult. We also read all the reviews of All American K9 - all those 5 star reviews are definitely there for a reason & I'm proud to be writing one myself! Our dog struggles with aggression out of fear, lack of confidence, and nervousness. After the first private session, there was a noticeable difference in her - confidence is building & fear/nervousness is dwindling. Bob teaches you all the right information & tricks in the training sessions so all you have to do is go home & continue them! We love that we are the ones handling our dog while he is educating us in real time. He is a pretty personable guy too, easy to get along with while your slotted session flies by. We can't thank you enough Bob!!! These private lessons have been the best thing we could have done for her & us as her owners! In conclusion - if you love your dog, invest in the time & money and you won't be disappointed with All American K9

A colleagusuggested that I try a dog trainer named Bob Solomini that he had used in the past. His passion and confidence in Bob convinced me and even though I was very skeptical and worn out I decided to give it one last try. I am excited to tell you about my invaluable experience and what I learned from it: -my dog was only a small part of the problem, but the majority of the behavioral problems stemmed from me. Dogs aren't born knowing how to behave the way humans would like them to, so we as responsible dog owners need to teach them. -we don't automatically realize what we are doing wrong and unless a true professional who really cares can teach us the correct way we can't be sure that we will ultimately have a happy relationship with our pet. -after four years of pulling my hair out and stressful walks with my dog I wound up moving to a new neighborhood, and my dog was totally out of control when I walked him. When he saw people with dogs, he went crazy and I could not stop him from barking and pulling. In fact, he pulled me down a couple of times where I sprained my ankle and another time where I hurt my knee. In fact, most of my neighbors walked the other way when they saw us and complained about my dog's bad behavior. After the first lesson, I immediately knew that I had found something different. Humane, focused,, professional, and results driven. I am so lucky that I found all American K-9 and especially Bob Solomini. I love walking my dog now, and all of my neighbors have praised the incredible transformation that they see. This was literally a life-changing experience for my dog and for me. I am so thankful that I found somebody that really knows what they're doing and really cares -not only is Bob a great person, but also the Best dog trainer that I have ever met. I highly recommend this trainer and business to anyone who is serious about having a great dog!

We have been working through some serious challenges with our dogs fighting, and our main goal was…read moresimply to help them safely cohabitate in the same home. We had previously completed seven sessions with another trainer at Rob's Dogs and while that experience was fine for basic obedience, it felt like 'training' rather than the deep level behavioral correction we actually needed. Thankfully, because of the Rob's Dogs lifetime guarantee, we were connected with Joel. From the first hour, the difference was night and day. Joel immediately identified the core issues and provided professional, actionable insight on how to actually shift the dogs' behavior, rather than just running through commands. We already feel significantly more confident moving forward and have total trust in the tools and guidance Joel has given us. If you are struggling with behavioral issues that go beyond the basics, I highly recommend working with Joel. We are incredibly optimistic about the progress we'll make in our upcoming sessions.

My 81 year old mom moved to an urban setting with a small yard and a neighborhood with lots of…read moresmall, yappy dogs that sets off reactivity in her German Shepherd. Although the dog has been through several training programs, she had recently reverted back to being reactive on leash: barking, pulling, and lunging at any dog that barked at her or gave her a "look". Thankfully I found Rob's Dogs through a search online. Rob offers dog training either through individual sessions sold as a packet of 8 or 3, or you can elect to do a board and train method. Since my mom's dog had done two board and trains with other training facilities in Florida and Texas, I opted for the individual sessions sold as a packet of 3. Not to disparage the other training schools, I want to note that the dog had learned a great deal of commands, but she was a little rusty and selective when doing them and was selectively reactive on leash around other dogs. What we needed was a trainer that could come to my mom's neighborhood and see the dog being reactive in the environment where she was going to be walked. Thankfully Rob's Dogs offered this as an option. It cost a significant amount to do this, but it was possible. The additional cost was for the mileage and drive time to my mom's place. We had a meet and greet at the facility. Rob, the owner, met with us and got the back story on the dog and the current behavior problems. He took the dog and walked her around a bit and near other dogs, tested her response to commands and leash pressure. He explained the package options available to us. He also made us aware that we would be using both a prong collar and e-collar to reinstate her former training. We had these tools, but my mom hadn't used them with the dog since she left Florida, and I had never used them. We were assigned a trainer who was contracted by Rob. Lauryn was super friendly and had a love and full understanding of the German Shepherd breed. She herself had a German Shepherd. She went over the operation of the two collars which I was not familiar with at all. Rob's dogs sent us a link and password so that we could watch some important training videos. His website also had some very useful training tips. I highly recommend watching/reading this information carefully and then reviewing it again each week. It's easy for owners to slip into bad habits quickly which results in their dogs behaving in ways they don't want. You will have to enforce rules and get into a routine. Restrictions can be lifted once the dog consistently behaves as desired. You will find that YOU will have to do the hard work. The trainer and Rob's Dogs will assess your current situation and give you the tools and training to use those tools to reinforce good behaviors. It won't happen overnight. You will need to work with the dog for at least an hour each day to reinforce the seven commands and expectations. As I mentioned, we only had three sessions. This training was going to determine whether or not my mom could keep and handle her dog. Immediately after the first session, we started using the tools and putting restrictions in place inside the house to set the law of the land. Right away, we noticed a difference. While the dog was already really well behaved in the house, it improved her response to us when we walked her outside of the house. The prong collar made a drastic difference in her behavior when she saw other yappy dogs on the walk. I no longer had to worry about her lunging, pulling or barking incessantly in an aggressive stance. She still got up, moved forward, and barked once, but it was all very controlled. I didn't have to use all of my strength to hold her back. The real test came when my mom was able to walk her dog around other yappy dogs. After session two, my mom was easily able to do this, and I felt confident that continuing this training would allow my mom to keep her dog. Her German Shepherd is sometimes still reactive, but it is much more controlled and manageable now. In time, and with continued consistent practice, I believe my mom's dog will eventually stop the reactivity altogether. She has already shown amazing progress and only slips occasionally. If you are looking for effective dog training (well, really we know it is human training to learn how to effectively communicate with the dog), then consider Rob's Dogs. You will work hard to get your dog's behavior issues resolved, but the longterm results will allow you to have a wonderful relationship with your pet.
