Jonas!! What can I say about him except that he is a brilliant and passionate dog trainer. Funny as hell too. It was so refreshing to meet someone down to earth who really cares and fully understood our Siberian Husky. I would recommend him 1000 times over to anyone looking for help either with behavioral problems or just needing direction on raising a well mannered dog. Our boy Timber is on track to be an all star, and we have Jonas to thank for that!! read more

K911! - Pet Training Near Me

Jonas traveled to MA to work with myself and my GSD Kane. Kane was extremely fearful of strangers, which made it near impossible to have anyone over the house. It was also impossible to take him out in public as he became extremely scared and just wanted to run back to the safety of the car. 3 trainers did not get anywhere with Kane, in fact all 3 trainers told me Kane would never be able to greet anyone/never be pet, and I was told I wouldn't be able to have him in public. In one session Kane warmed up to Jonas and started trusting the process and trusting Jonas. It was incredible to watch this happen. By day 3 we were out in public with Kane. By the end of training Kane had gone to stores multiple times, a park, and even a brewery. He also allowed another stranger who came with Jonas to let her pet him and was more than okay with her being in the house too. Kane's confidence grew bigger than I thought possible, as did my own. Not only did Jonas work so well with Kane but he also knew how to work me through my own anxiety, building both of our confidences up higher than ever. Since Jonas left, Kane has been able to greet multiple people, even excitedly with kisses, and has totally nailed going out in public with me. I can not recommend Jonas enough and I am forever thankful for him. He completely changed Kane's future, in the best way possible. read more

The training Jonas and Katie provided has opened countless doors - we are able to enjoy our sweet puppy so much more than before he went to his board and train! Jonas is amazing!!! I call him the dog whisperer, which he hates because he doesn't like being compared to Caesar Milan, but he truly has a gift with dogs!! He speaks their language fluently. My dog Cooper was such a butt head! I couldn't communicate with him at all and was beyond frustrated. I was at the point where I was about to send him off to a board and train trainer! He was snapping at me, growling at me, being aggressive to certain dogs and people, I couldn't take him anywhere! He would pull me around like a rag doll on our walks! I was so fed up!! Jonas helped me immensely!! Now Cooper is an off leash Austin dog that goes with me everywhere and gets along with everyone! I finally got my dog back! Jonas is the best!!! read more

Before Jonas, I never thought my dog would get over his fear of people. From the first lesson, Jonas taught us exactly what we needed to do to help my Husky, Kiba, get over his fears. His pro-prong lessons helped us learn how to correct Kiba during walks so that he no longer pulls, making walks with him a much more pleasant experience than before. We used those same lessons to teach him that people are OK. Ever since Jonas, Kiba has gone up to people and given them hugs and kisses on his own, something he wouldn't even think about doing before! I can't recommend Jonas enough! If you have a dog that needs training, do not hesitate to give K911! a call! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this program! It took me a long time to send my pitty somewhere and I am SO glad that I found K911! Before the training I was able to have a long conversation about our needs and concerns and from that they were able to place him with a trainer that would be best for him. Kelly was so incredibly kind and patient with my long list of questions and made me feel at ease with sending him. Before the 2week board and train VILI was almost uncontrollable, didn't listen to commands or anything. Very hyper and leash reactive. It was almost impossible to walk him. After the program Vili is a completely different dog as far as behavior, but still has that little personality we love. Kelly spent a long time training us how to manage what he learned and spent time showing us all the things she worked with him on. She's incredible, 10000 percent made for this line of work. She left us feeling confident in maintains the training and that is a great feeling! I would DEFINITELY recommend K911! read more

Jonas and Whitney are the best. In three sessions, we have made more progress with our mixed Catahoula/Great Dane, Simon, than all the other previous attempts combined. We just finished a session with a friend how was afraid of Simon after he bullied her. We now have a strategy that seems to work for all of us. We still have a long way to go to get Simon over his fear/aggression toward other dogs, but I am confident that with Jonas and Whitney we will get there. Soon Simon should be able to join us out and about in dog-friendly Austin! While initially a little hard to contact, once I scheduled an appointment and got things going, it has been great. Best way to get through is to make an appointment. You don't have to pre-pay as they can bill you later. Since that initial evaluation and session, both Jonas and Whitney have been very responsive to text. read more

I'm just another person praising Jonas and Kelly for saving our dog Oso and our whole family from doggie disaster. Our 3 yr old pup had progressed into aggressive behavior w our other dogs and I was feeling scared and desperate. Jonas recommended Kelly take Oso for the 2 wk program, which we finally agreed to do. Kelly communicated with us daily on his stellar progress, which was just amazing to us. Clearly Kelly and Jonas really "get" dogs. She was able to spend several hours with us upon his return to prepare us for the things we needed to do to insure that his progress continues. Its been several weeks now and we could not be happier with the change in Oso and our little pack! Thank you thank you thank you!! These folks are worth every penny!!!! read more

We have a terribly stubborn and aggressive Frenchie that Jonas admitted had the worst case of kennel aggression he's ever seen. Jonas didn't give up though and helped us train Tazz at our home with sessions that made us more comfortable with Tazz. Though not all of his issues are fixed, only an act of god would fix that. He gave us the tools and training we needed to live with Tazz. Thank you Jonas and we're sorry he was such a pain in your ass. Thank you for putting up with us! read more

When we brought a 1.5 yo husky home to meet our 7 yo husky mix we expected the transition to take time. They couldn't even see each other without trying to attack. The rescue, Addicus' Legacy, recommended Jonas. First, he answered my desperate call (while working) on a Saturday evening. Second, he fit us in for the following Monday afternoon and said we'd make it all work. With one lesson they could be in the same space. That gave them the time and chance to bond. He taught us to walk them together and worked on some major resource guarding. Now he's teaching us how to keep teaching them. Jonas is committed to making sure dogs have a chance to succeed and obviously loves dogs. Plus, he's great with huskies, who have a reputation for being stubborn. read more

Changing your dog for the better will change your life for the better. Jonas and his team (we had Jen) are the man and knows what exactly what they are doing. Millie is our 10 month old, 60 lb. puppy. She jumped on our children and us, nipped, pulled on the leash, and had many other not so desirable habits. After a session with Jonas, she is literally a completely different dog. Seriously. Millie is calm, walks perfectly on the leash now, and does not jump or nip! We are focused and committed to following his advice. Due to his expertise, she is happy and so are we. We cannot thank him enough. Jonas is truly worth his weight in gold! read more

Jonas is absolutely THE BEST dog trainer! If you want a perfectly behaved, relaxed dog, look no further. Betsy was a good dog to start, but she came back a super star! She did not come back broken or spiritless, she just came back understanding commands. He took the time late on a Thursday evening (when it was convenient for me, not him) to train me until I understood everything he taught her. He does not BS. We love that. His leash class is the bomb. I've never seen 25 dogs behaving the way they did during his class. It wasn't chaotic. They all behaved and walked with great etiquette like you wouldn't believe. You could easily spot dogs he trained because they couldn't wait to greet him with love. Betsy included. Just to let the haters know out there, If his training method was "harsh" or whatever, dogs would not react that way. I was 1000% convinced that he took great care of my dog just watching how ecstatic she was when she saw him again. Now Betsy goes to my dental office and EVERYONE wants to take her home because of her perfect behavior. Now if I can just get Jonas to train my kids.... Lol. read more

Jonas was amazing with my little shihtzu Maxwell! Maxwell had gotten into the habit of getting very aggressive with large breeds while on the leash and it was branching out to off leash as well. We literally had one session with Jonas and he's like a new little guy, it's Almost like him and Jonas had a conversation and now he knows how to properly behave lol. I had tried other trainers in the past and food rewards were just not enough in the heat of the moment, Jonas was able to correct this behavior in an hour! So happy I called him. Thanks Jonas!! read more

I don't even have to think about this one! Jonas absolutely understands the psychology of why dogs do what they do! THIS GUY ROCKS!! Sadie is my half German Sheppard, half Siberian Husky, She is absolutely as smart as they come, and just as stubborn. Jonas had her for a week, and completely calmed her down, he set parameters for her in terms she could understand, and did it all for half the price of the big business dog trainers! Sadie is now the same lovable girl she has always been, just now with a firm understanding of what is expected of her. Jonas not only updated me daily with her progress, he sent videos, and pictures as well. I would refer anyone to K911! Thanks Jonas! You are a ROTstar! read more

part 2: kelly then went on to talk at me about training stuff for about 3 hours and at the end I asked if all this information (including how to implement place and her method of walking on the leash) in an email, something that the trainers for my $250 obedience classes at austin canine central did every week without fail, and kelly just laughed and said she wouldn't do that because she'd have to type something different for each dog. I was shocked she wouldn't provide anything to help guide me and that she didn't let me know at the top that she hadn't written any of this down for me. at the end she asked me to take some notes for the future. I couldn't believe that she refused to provide any written guidance for me (I asked multiple times after the training, I expect this is a liability/legal thing). in my own work i do a lot of training and teaching and what kelly is doing by not providing any written guidance is setting me and my dog up for failure, not success. it was particularly shocking when a couple months later she said i'd been implementing place wrong as this could have been avoided if she gave me a little information sheet about place and leash walking. my interactions with kelly were the worst part of experience. oh, she also did not return the leash or prong collar that i sent my dog to her with, she said she'd lost them??? now onto my dogs experience. upon returning my dog was dirtier than I had ever seen her and had infections in both of her eyes (kelly did not mention this). my dog was also more reactive than i'd ever seen in the three weeks following the training. where previously my dog loved to stop and say hi to other dogs, she was now having an immediate negative reaction every time she laid eyes on a nearby dog. same went for people on the street, they didn't even need to look at her or approach her for her to react (bark growl and lunge viciously) my dogs anxiety was through the roof and she was basically just crying the whole time she was in place. kelly's solution was more place and more leash popping. it was clear to me that all the leash popping was giving my dog more anxiety, the look of fear in her eyes after the leash being popped made this clear. eventually I decided it was too difficult to try to talk to kelly as not only did i get the sense she was lying to me about various things, she never had any new ideas for my dog who was not improving she always just said pop the leash more. since we stopped listening to kelly, my dog is clearly much happier. she's still stranger reactive but we continue to work on her obedience which has saved us many times. we have been doing place as well, to no avail. I welcome the business owner to reach out to me for refund options! read more

My review for Jonas with K911! is looooong overdue. For years my dog, Honey has been leash reactive towards other dogs which caused my anxiety to ratchet up. Before I knew it, both my dog and I were a hot mess on walks. With moving into our first apartment together, dog walking several times a day became mandatory. In comes Jonas with his real attitude and caring heart. After our first session with Jonas, I felt a difference in both myself and Honey, I was given hope and confidence and Honey was much more relaxed. We had a few more sessions and MANY questions answered and now over one year later my sweet dog and I can walk confidently and comfortably (on and off leash) enjoying ourselves and others. Jonas will give you the necessary tools to help you be the best leader and advocate for your fur-ever, four-legged companion. I am truly grateful for Jonas's expertise and dog-loving heart. read more

We heard about Jonas from the locals around Austin and after speaking with him over the phone we knew we wanted to go forth with the consult. We have a two year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Drax, that needed some assistance on leash manners, anxiety issues, and lashing out around other dogs. We also wanted for him to learn place command for when we have guest come over to make our guest entry easier. Jonas was able to schedule our dog for a board and train while we were on vacation and he was very flexible about extending our initial agreement and keeping Drax a little longer to expand his training progress. Drax had a rough start with Jonas on acceptance and trust, but Jonas was patient enough and after the first couple of days went by they became best friends. We were very pleased upon Drax's arrival back home and enjoyed learning everything that he had learned. Jonas made it easy for us to understand how to continue his training. He didn't leave until we were 100% ready to be on our own. Highly recommend Jonas!!! Thank you Jonas for all you've done for us and Drax. read more

This was excellent. In only two weeks our dog is transformed. She had issues with possessiveness and aggressiveness, and needed obedience and on-leash / off-lease training. In two weeks of Board & Train, we achieved full off-leash control with Mona, and perfect on-leash walking and behavior. He possessiveness and aggression are under control, and we are confident and taking her with us to everywhere we go. This is way more than we expected in two weeks. Jonas is a great guy. He was super communicative, informative and explaining. During the Board and Train we got frequent photos and videos or our dogs, and the progress she was making. We finished the training, Jonas dropped Mona back, and had an hour session with us on what to do and explained the protocol. In addition, we had another session over the weekend in red-bud isle dog park, with Jonas and his dogs to continue the hand-off process, review protocol and for him to show us off leash control in outdoor environment (all included in the original Board & Train charge) He's a first class professional, straight to the point, no-bullshit approach, and he's also a great guy to talk to and an awesome dude. Truly, a 5 star experience. Highly recommended. read more

We recently started using Jonas to help correct some bad behaviors our puppy Wrigley had. Wrigley happens to be a very strong minded labrahound (Labrador/hound mix) who just turned 1 years old. She is extremely cute and because of that we have spoiled until she had become out of control. Her favorite thing to do was to run the the neighbors house and get their dogs all hyper. One time she even ran into our neighbors house while they were having friends over for dinner (that was embarrassing). The last straw was when she ran into the street (fortunately we live on a dead end street). Now it was going from being a pain in the neck to a safety concern. We did some searching online for a local trainer, but didn't find what Wrigley needed. Then we read on a rescue site (www.luckylabsrescue.com) that Jonas helped them with some of their dogs before they could be adopted. Now I'm not going to lie, I thought how the heck can a guy who is way down in Texas help me here in NY via FaceTime?!?!?! But his prices are so reasonable there really wasn't anything to loose. The FIRST day of training (1 hour via facetime), we broke Wrigley's habit of running out of her yard!!! We recently had a nice day and sat out on the front porch while Wrigley and her doggy brother Cozmo played in the yard. The neighborhood was active with people in their yards and she could have cared less! I was a very proud parent to take a video of her and send it to Jonas! I can not recommend Jonas at K911! enough!! If you are having any type of dog behavior problems, Jonas should be your first contact!!! read more

Jonas is wonderful!! I live in Massachusetts and recently adopted a rescue dog from Texas. I didn't exactly do my research, so when I brought her home and tried introducing her to my dog of 3 years it didn't go so well. I was literally decompensating, but the rescue org gave me Jonas as a contact. He was so great and Skyped with me and got me on track. Everything he told me to do worked. I am happy to report that the "girls" are figuring things out and even starting to play. Jonas also set up follow up time with me which helped reinforce what I learned from him. He made himself available even from such a distance, and I am so grateful for that! I wish I lived closer because I would have him come to my house! read more

Jonas is an amazing miracle worker! Our husky was the worse behaved dog ever. You couldn't walk him, he didn't listen to anyone. Jonas took Bahloo on a Sunday evening, returned him the following Thursday evening. He is a transformed happy dog. He walks like a pro, stays by our side, when we say stop, he immediately stops and sits. He doesn't jump on people anymore and is completely kennel trained. We can now walk in peace. Jonas is the best trainer I have ever known. He took several hours with us when he dropped Bahloo off to explain our dogs behavior and to teach us how to continue his success. We are so grateful to you, Jonas! Thank you for everything you've done for us! read more

I foster dogs and took on one horribly abused, starved, and neglected pup, Max. I was at my wit's end and was horrified I wouldn't be able to make a difference in his life when a contact through a rescue group recommended Jonas. After a 15 minute PHONE CONVERSATION, I had enough information, techniques and suggestions that thoroughly turned my little foster's life around and allowed him to be placed in a forever home. His new family was thoroughly informed of his past behavioral issues and over a year later, can only sing his praises. Jonas has a gift and I highly recommend K911! read more

Jonas is a lifesaver--literally! I originally contacted him because my pack of three rescues (two boxers & a dachshund) was getting a bit rowdy and I knew I needed to regain control. But before we could get an appointment set, things took a turn with my female boxer attacking the others on separate occasions. I knew I needed professional help before the result was worse than a few stitches. The two large dogs had been through obedience classes, so I tried following the advice of those trainers, but no improvement. Quite literally within one day, Jonas had peace restored to our home. I realized I needed training more than the pups, but we all benefited from our sessions with him! We can now successfully walk through the neighborhood without my pups even flinching at other dogs as we pass. Plus, no more attacks at home and we can have visitors without complete chaos ensuing! I have a calm, happy pack and we're all enjoying a calm, happy household. Not to mention Jonas was super straightforward about what he thought we needed and saved me thousands of dollars compared to others!!! We couldn't be happier! read more

I have a 91 pound Great Pyrenees Mix who was a lot to deal with. He was a barker, attacked friends at the door, and even scared away children in our neighborhood! Worst of all, he would just about pull your arm out of the socket on a walk. I had worked work positive reinforcement trainers in the past, so I knew he was smart. I just didn't know how to correct his negative behavior. I contacted some trainers in the area who either just wouldn't work with him or recommend euthanasia. I couldn't imagine that outcome so was thrilled to hear about K911! We just completed a 3 week board and train program with Kelly. He has been home for less than a week and I finally have hope. He is not "cured" but he has the foundation to be a well rounded and happy nmember of our family. Best of all, I was left with the tools to be able to continue the training every day for the rest of his life. I'm so incredibly thankful to have found K911. The whole team has been wonderful and responsive since he has been home. I've even attended the free leash class they offer weekly for clients. read more

To make a long story short: my wife and I moved across the country back to Austin at the beginning of the summer. I had just graduated from law school and was preparing to take the bar exam at the end of July. My wife was 8 months pregnant. Needless to say, we have had a summer full of big life events. With us every step of the way have been our two dogs Olive (Mini Aussie) and Luna (St. Bernard). Luna is 2.5yo and roughly 100lbs. Although she is the sweetest big girl, she is exactly that: a BIG GIRL. Luna has always had so much energy, eager to run and play and say hi to every single living thing she encounters. Because of her size, it was hard to get her to calm down and leave things alone. With a baby on the way and in the midst of studying for the bar exam, we knew we needed some help. A quick google search led me to Jonas. After a phone call and an in-person consultation, we knew Jonas was the perfect trainer for our Luna. She did a 3-week board and train right as we had our baby and I took the bar exam. Jonas was amazing and got Luna in on very short notice because he saw the urgent need. Luna has been back a little over 48 hours and I cannot believe the difference. Before we dreaded going on walks, always afraid we would encounter another dog or a person and that Luna would just be too excited for us to hold her back. Now we look forward to daily walks with our girl. She is so responsive on the leash and is a joy to be around. Inside the house, Luna has fallen in love with her "place." With a new baby and frequent visitors it is so nice to have a designated place in our house that Luna LOVES to be. All of this to say, Jonas allows you to experience the best parts of your dog without worrying about the negatives. I cannot recommend him enough. Be warned though: Jonas is incredible and you will gain a forever friend! read more

Jonas is the absolute best trainer I have ever met. He is so caring and in tune with the pups. He was wonderful with my German Shepherd puppy Týr, who was terrified of other people. Within 10 minutes Jonas had Týr's complete trust. He had him walking nicely on the leash without pulling among other things like walking on the treadmill. He accomplished that in just one session...just one! Recently, Jonas has been so caring and extremely helpful with an unfortunate development in Týr's physical health. Trust me hire him, because once you are part of his pack you and you pup will be in the best hands possible! Thank you Jonas from us and Týr sends puppy kisses. read more

Jonas is a miracle worker with a heart of gold I don't know what I would of done if I had not met him. I moved from Guam to Austin with my very anxiety ridden shepherd she wouldn't even eat unless I was right by her side. I couldn't have people over for fear she would jump on them and the worst was walking her. I actually stopped walking her in fear that she would drag me into a on coming car which actually almost happened. When Jonas came to my house for The initial meeting he knew exactly what to do with my shepherd. Long story short he took mocha and 3 weeks later mocha came back calm happy all anxiety gone how he did it I'll never know. I am able to walk her without a problem she eats in the kennel on her own most of all she still has her sweet beautiful personality but without the anxiety. Thank you Jonas for saving me and mocha you are a god send. read more

I wasted way too many months thinking that Jonas' method of training was not for me....wasted time....Our husky/shepherd, Lacey, had anxiety and it was continuing to increase. She acted like she wanted to tear apart any dog passing by, whether in the car, in a store, at the door, everywhere...It was becoming impossible to take her anywhere. She also, like most huskies, thought leashes were a license to pull. Her anxiety increased to the point where she ripped out half her tail fur. We were all miserable. I was familiar with Jonas and his work via friends. He came for our consultation and within five minutes I knew we had made the right decision. Lacey went to two weeks of board and train with Kelly ( who is freaking amazing in more ways than one). We received daily updates, videos, pictures, all in an ongoing chat session that included Jonas. On the day Lacey came home, Kelly spent nearly two hours with us, instructing on prong and ecollar. How to put it on, how to use it, how it worked. She took each of us on a walk with Lacey, so we knew how to walk her properly. I cannot say enough good things about Kelly, Jonas, and his team. Lacey is a different dog. She is not anxious, (nor is she depressed or beaten down), she is a relaxed, very happy girl now, who has ZERO reactivity to other dogs, who goes to her "place" and stays there, doesn't take us for walks anymore, we take her. We took our after training instruction seriously and work with Lacey on a daily basis to reinforce what she learned. The best part is that our other husky is beginning to mimic Lacey's behaviors in the best of ways. If you are looking for training, just stop looking. Call Jonas....call him now. We are now part of an amazing family of dog lovers for life. I will be forever grateful for the transformation Kelly did with our Lacey girl. read more

After a little hiccup on our initial scheduling (which Jonas totally and completely made right on), we were able to meet with Jonas and are extremely grateful for our time with him. He is relaxed, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about dogs & training methods. Jonas provided tailored approaches to our specific needs, not trying to push a standardized/cookie cutter package of services. He also explained his approach and provided examples in ways that were easy for non-dog experts to understand. It is clear Jonas loves dogs and will do whatever necessary to help owners and their fur-kids have the fullest, happiest life possible together. read more

They are not a responsibly nor professionally run organization. I first started trying to contact them in July and it wasn't till late August when I finally heard from someone, Rachel. Rachel did come to my house for a consultation which I thought went well. We set a date for Dec 2 to start board and train but when I tried reaching her for questions and concerns POOF she was no where to be found. I was led on and lied to so many times I lost count. Specifically Rachel whom was my contact person basically ghosted me after she gave me a date to start a 21 day board and train. When I started trying to reach her for an issue we were having it took five days for her to text and tell me she would call me that night and she did not call. This behavior went on for three weeks and to date I still have not heard from anyone. Leaving texts or emails with no follow up as I full expected by this point. I have since found several others that were treated the same way. Very sad and disappointed but life moves on. I am only giving one star because I have to otherwise it would be 0 stars. read more

Can anyone say lifesaver? That's exactly what Jonas is. He took my bratty escape artist of a husky & turned her into a polite lady with manners! Not only did he help my dog but took the time to make sure I was completely comfortable around my pup and understood the training methods. He understands dogs so well & was able to explain the behavior issues and correct them immediately. I love the confidence I have in my dog while walking her and the trust that we have built. I've never been so satisfied & my life is completely different since my dog & I trust one another now. read more

I have a 1.5 year old Siberian husky who is incredibly anxious and fearful outside. She would pull on the leash and have meltdowns when she got scared- to the point of injury. I paid $1,000 in trainers to help but nothing worked until I found Kelly at K911. Within an hour of working with me and my dog, Kelly got my husky to walk at heel outside! I never thought I'd see the day that my dog walked calmly beside me. Kelly was amazing in not only working with my dog but also with me by explaining every detail, answering all my questions and making me feel like we were in this together. Her care for me and my dog went above and beyond and her confidence in her training abilities was just what I needed to get my dog to trust me and be able to walk with me outdoors. I look forward to working with Kelly on more techniques in the future. Could not recommend her more! read more

Jonas is amazing! We have a very strong willed stubborn 1-yr old Airedale Terrier, which did not have any manners. Katie trained my dog Buttercup for about two weeks. She was great! She kept me updated throughout the training and sent pictures and videos of my dog's progress. Not only did Katie go over everything, she also answered every question we had. I am so glad that I found Jonas and his crew. They are awesome! read more
