Tandoori Chicken Pizza

This may be too long, but I think it's worth it. Three years ago my wife and I, from Arizona, were visiting our son and family in Rockville, MD. We were out sight-seeing and happened to stop at the K2 Cafe for lunch. When I spotted the Tandoori Chicken Pizza on the menu, I had to have one, and I wasn't disappointed. It was great! This past summer we visited again, and I insisted on going to K2 again. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that the Tandoori pizza had been taken off the menu! The 3 lovely ladies working there huddled up, and after a couple of minutes they said they could make me one. It was just as delicious as I remembered! While paying our bill, I spotted a jar of Tandoori Paste for sale, so I bought one to bring home to Arizona. About a week ago we finally got around to making a Tandoori Chicken Pizza, and after reading several recipes, i used only the Paste, Mayonnaise, lemon juice, and sour cream. (If you want to try this, BEWARE! The jar of paste is the HOTTEST thing I have ever touched to my tongue! Less than 1 tsp. will flavor just about anything, and I'm not kidding!). We used a pizza crust mix, and to my surprise, it turned out to be wonderful! We have since had Tandoori Chicken over noodles and also over rice. We have definitely added this dish to our list of favorite recipes! I want to thank the owner and the ladies working at K2 Cafe for being so friendly, kind, and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits there. If you are anywhere near Poolsville, stop in for lunch. You won't regret it!

The nicest staff and the best food!! I tried the latte and the chicken salad sandwich with ciabatta bread. It was delicious and fresh. There are so many delicious looking pastries from a local baker that I want to try next time!! There is wifi and outlets to work as well.

Update hours on google maps! Closing at 1:30 on Saturday? Crazy! Bathroom was disgusting and dirty. No toilet paper, soap, or paper towels.

The building appears to be a very old home but recently renovated and upgraded. the parking lots (2) are behind the building. There are 3-4 small dining rooms and it's a very cozy mom and pop type vibe. The staff and the customers were all very upbeat and happy and the menu is amazing - so many really great choices. We both got the fish and chips - it came with 3 decent sized portions of crispy cod and fries with old bay seasoning and light coleslaw. Delicious. We will def go back - maybe this coming Spring to eat on the patio in the back of the restaurant.

It feels like a house. The menu is great and the drinks are good. I think a good test is the bloody mary and i really enjoyed them. Great selections of apps- my fave was the Southwest Chicken rolls. Everyone loved their mains. The cauliflower mash is as good as any potatoes. The menu has something for everyone. I really enjoyed my salmon. It was not dry or slimy. It's hard not to order the steak with the smell of the place! The service was excellent as was our whole experience. Our experiences at Bassett's have always been positive. We love Bassett's! A great reason to head to Poolesville!

Jersey Mike's is one of those places where you walk in thinking, I'll just grab something small,…read moreand walk out holding a sandwich that could double as a free weight. I love that they offer the "mini" size -- perfect for when you're pretending to have self-control -- but even the mini feels generous. The tuna fish here is creamy, fresh, and honestly makes me question why I ever ate tuna from anywhere else. The Italian is loaded with flavor and has that perfect balance of salty, spicy, and "I should've ordered another one for later." And don't even get me started on the hot peppers -- they're bold, brash, and could probably convince a bland sandwich to get its life together. When I want to be a little healthier (or at least convince myself I'm being healthier), I go for the "Sub in a Tub." It's basically all the fillings without the bread, which makes me feel virtuous enough to add extra cheese without guilt. The staff always makes you feel welcome, the sandwiches are consistently excellent, and somehow I always end up leaving with a smile... and maybe a little hot pepper juice on my shirt.

I see one of the gentlemen make two sandwiches and then I don't see my third. I ask the cashier if the other sandwich is coming or if that is it sitting there (the other worker walked away without finishing it) or if it is the customer behind me. The cashier isn't sure and asks the sandwich maker who gets incredibly rude with him. I then ask if that is my sandwich then please no provolone. The orginal rude sandwich maker says "the sandwich doesn't come with provolone." I said it's the #3 and it does come with it and I don't want it. He then PUTS his hands together like I'm a child and with the rudest tone says "THE SANDWICH DOES NOT COME WITH PROVOLONE..." I give him the dirtiest look because I expect the same respect and tone that I used with him. I don't appreciate the hand gestures like I am stupid or the tone! And guess what to top it off, the sandwich wasn't even the #3. The meat was not ham! It was something completely different with a kick to it. The rude sandwich maker was coughing and probably sick but then stay home, don't come and be rude to people.

My eggs were cooked to perfect, my latte was delicious (though not quite sweet enough), the bread pudding was decadent without being cloying. I also tried 2 additional dishes: Old Bay Crab Soup. Bread Pudding for dessert. Old Bay Crab Soup. The menu described it as crab broth with sherry wine, carrots, celery, onion, potatoes, backfin blue crab, Old Bay and scallions. I got it in a to-go cup, and it was served hot, but manageable. I was glad I tried it. For dessert, I got their Bread Pudding, described as baked in a rich custard, served warm over vanilla crème anglaise and finished with a three-berry compote. Since I got it to-go, all those extras were packaged separately from the pudding itself. I ended up having to look at someone else's posted picture of the end-product so that I could figure out what to pour on before what. It helped a lot and that was some good dessert.
