    Locals Farm Market

My wife and I went to lunch at a local Poolsville restaurant called Locals Farm Market. The restaurant is an old farmhouse in Poolesville with both inside and outside dining. They use only local grown produce and protein in their offerings. I had a hamburger medium on a brioche bun gluten-free with lettuce, tomato homemade pickles and outstanding french fries My wife had a grilled cheese sandwich and homemade tomato soup, with a side of fresh fruit. We both had freshly made iced tea. Both the ambience and the food were spectacular. This is the first time I've ever been to a restaurant where I've ordered a medium rare burger, and it actually came medium rare. The meat was succulent, moist and extremely flavorful, and very well seasoned. The fries were double cooked in peanut oil and appropriately salted. They were divine My wife had her grilled cheese on sourdough bread with sharp cheddar and she said that it was perfect. The tomato soup according to my wife was outstanding. For the road, we got coffees to go, that were smooth , flavorful with great notes of chocolate and hazelnut We will be visiting this place again, probably very soon. I can't think of a meal with this atmosphere and perfect garden to table offerings that we've been to in a long while. 5 STARS!!!

Great ambiance, great food, and ya know that table number gave the boy a lot of joy . This was our first time in after getting the recommendation from a local. Can't wait to see this place in warmer weather.

Pick anything, you won't go wrong! We've been there several times and it's a wonderful experience every time.

A serendipitous surprise awaits in Poolesville. We'd never been to the town before, but happened upon Local Eats. More than a place with pre-packaged food, LE prepares food that would rival a 5 star restaurant (that's why it rates 5 stars!) The soups are larger portions and beautifully seasoned. I had the tomato soup, others in our group recommend the mushroom soup. The crabcake sandwich was cooked to perfection - not chewy or falling apart. Simpler fare like grilled cheese comes on sourdough bread making this the heartiest of meals. Top it off with bread pudding and you are filled and fulfilled. The one possible drawback is getting a table and waiting in line to order, but the food is prepared and delivered promptly. The rustic atmosphere adds to the authentic country vibe that Local Eats has going for it. Way to go out of your way to get some wonderful food!

Pretty lovely evening to be eating outside and enjoying some music. This is a very low key place. You get in line and place your order at the counter. You get a number and wait for your meal to be brought to you. Though service was great when ordering and the staff is super friendly, once you get your food, no one comes around after that. And this is not a place that one would expect that. They were having problems with making the milkshakes so I was disappointed I didn't get to try any. Apparently the ice cream is from South Mountain Creamery which I do like! Got the lemonade instead and it was fine. We got the crab cake sandwich and the bacon cheeseburger without the bun. Food was good. Fries were just okay. They were kind of limpy and unimpressive. I like my fries extra crispy. It started to downpour so we went inside to finish our meal. It was nice instead as well. We ate by the fireplace until everyone else decided to rush in as well as the musicians that evening. It got pretty crowded but we were ready to leave. Nice place to just hang out in the evening.

    Locals Farm Market outdoor seating.

One of the best coffee shops we have ever visited. We came to this place after hiking in a nearby sunflower field. Even though the day was hot, sitting in their outdoor area felt quite cool because of the soft breeze. The trees and flowers scene is marvelous. Their coffee is great. I also ordered their Avocado toast, which was the best I have eaten anywhere. Even though this place is located some 40 minutes' drive from our home, I am confident we will come again.

Such friendly service when we walked in. Adorable local crafts and produce for sale. The baked goods all looked incredible but I opted for the breakfast sandwich which was delightful. And my husband was thrilled to learn they also sell local beer.

This is the cutest little place in town. They have a market and fresh bread, plus a full breakfast/lunch menu. The seating outside is nice and they do takeout as well - I've only ever done takeout. The chicken and waffles are my favorite but they have a delicious chicken Caesar salad as well. The drinks are on the smaller side, but sooo good. I've had their vanilla milkshake and a chai latte so far. The fries are a bit soggy, but everything else has been excellent! They are pricier than some other places in the area, but worth it, since their ingredients are high quality. I definitely recommend.

It's a good sign when there's a ton of business. This morning tho place was packed! I got a recommendation from a friend. It was really good. They had an enormous selection of cold beverages. The employees were really friendly. I got a Korean beef bowl (that's not what it is called on the menu but you should be able to figure it out) my Aunt had the salmon. The food was delicious. I don't have a lot of occasions to go to Poolesville, Maryland, but when I do, I'll try to come back to the Locals Farm Market

Can't get enough of this place! the presentation of the food is amazing, and the taste is phenomenal! The service is great!!! Order anything from breakfast to dinner, coffee (hot or cold),find homemade pastries , bread and order a beer! I just love the atmosphere; with my husband, family or friends! Locals has become my go to, at least once a week. It feel like you are a millions miles away. You can also find fresh produce and art from local artists, as well as live music. love it ! We even bring our backgammon to play a quick game.

We reserved a private space with a private tasting, which made the day feel extra special and perfect for a large group. For many of our guests, it was their first time visiting this location, and everyone had such a great time. One of the co-founders, Greg, personally led our tasting and was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, welcoming, and checked on us throughout the afternoon to make sure everything was going smoothly. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. I also appreciated that some friends who don't drink were still able to enjoy themselves thanks to the non-alcoholic options. The property itself is beautiful with scenic views, plenty of space to relax, and such a peaceful atmosphere. We had amazing weather the day we visited, which made it even more memorable. If you are looking for a great place for a birthday, celebration, group outing, or just a relaxing day with friends, I highly recommend! We will definitely be back.

I had an awesome first experience at Rocklands…read more I joined a group of 15-20 on the first really nice Saturday of the spring season; it was fairly crowded but we got there right at opening to secure a large section of shaded picnic tables. There was PLENTY of seating still - lots of large and small tables scattered throughout the property. They also have seating inside the winery at a small bar. The wine itself was really nice; we had several bottles of the rose at the table. It was light, crisp, and easy to sip in the nice weather. I was impressed that they also had 2 non alcoholic wines; the non drinkers in our group were happy to have some options made just for them (which were delicious also). There is a third party pizza business that had food offerings; we had many different types of their pizza which were all good. Very smart to have a food option for folks to enjoy while we sip our wine. Overall, the property is wonderfully maintained and the wines meet all expectations. I'd recommend giving this spot a try if you're looking for a nice winery north of the beltway!
