I really enjoyed talking to all the vendors -- they were all very friendly and open, informative and I must say, joyous! Some were also a bit apologetic for being out of certain things, because I went at the very end when some things were sold out. There was still a great selection, though! I obtained much deliciousness from Rosemary Bistro Cafe in the form of Local Grilled Stuffed Zucchini, Watermelon Gazpacho, saucy beans, and a many-greens soup. This alone fed me for days .... There was also a great and greatly innovative cross-cultural mix in the Black Bean Hummus from Layla's Food Company, and a most wonderful Pesto Genovese from Open Hand that I used to make a beauteous pesto pizza -- mmm! There's an impressive variety of 20+ vendors with scrumptious pastries and gluten-free baked goods, fresh squeezed and cold-pressed juices, dog treats, empanadas, alcohol, and fresh made-to-order pizza and crepes. Here are my favorites: El Jefe Wood-fired Pizza - The new wood-fired pizza is delicious and the Margherita pizza tastes like Napoletan pizza, replaced Cipolla Rossa pizza. Grandma Vera's Bakery - You must try the cheesy Brazilian bread, gooey and gluten-free before they sell out! The Oreo scones are truly a delicacy! The fresh squeezed OJ and smoothies are refreshing and great way to cool off during the summer. Fresh Market Bakery - Located at the front of the market, the vendor has a variety of scrumptious breads, quiches, pies, and other baked goods. The fluffy asaigo cheese and seasonal focaccia breads is divine and sell out fast!. The cheesy and blueberry scones are my favorite! The spinach mushroom quiche is bursting with flavor and worth $25. Family of Nuts - Galore of roasted and flavorful, healthy nuts. The Apple and Truffle Parmesan almonds are my favorite while hubby likes the Everything Bagel seasoned Cashews. The chocolate eclairs that I got from the Capital Harvest on the Plaza farmers market in DC was divine. The pastries rotate around different farmers markets, will have to check out their Tyson's location! Twin Valley Distilleries - The whiskey and flavored rum tasting was too tempting to pass up a bottle! The sweetness of the fresh juices perfectly masked the rum, cutting the alcohol content to 15% ABV. Refreshing and perfect for a warm summer day with a nice kick! We bought all 3 flavored rums at $25/each - Hibiscus Sorrel, Fruit Punch, and Pineapple. Potomac Sweets - The croissants and decadent pastries looked scrumptious! Although the pastries are stored in a glass display case, they are still baking under the sun and are dry and stale. The brownie was alright. Recommend grabbing a pastry here bright and early when the market opens. Senzu Juice - Refreshing cold-pressed juices. The "Refresh" Watermelon Mint juice is my favorite. We left with a variety of micro greens from Yu's Farm Market. My friend said they were so much cheaper than the ones she buys from another farmers' market. Good to know! I will be back. My dog is enjoying his beef stick. He doesn't have very many teeth so I need to cut it up for him but all the same I will be back to buy another one on my next visit. This was probably the last gorgeous day of 2022, but this market is open year round. I'm willing to don my winter coat and return next month.

There were probably 100 vendors and the walking path is intuitive and mostly flat, mostly wheelchair accessible. The only few downsides are: It'd be nice to know ahead of time which vendors are coming when. A vendor we remembered previously wasn't there today. There were no recycle bins. So each to recycle, why not add some? I will suggest it to the organizers. There weren't many shaded places to sit and eat, so it would have been nice to have some popup tents and benches, but I know, I know: who's gonna pay for that? I tried a cupcake from a local baker and a smoothie from a food truck, tasted some rum from a spot out in Frederick, had a $4 chai from an Indian food booth, and ordered some empanadas to go.

Come here early (as soon as it opens!) so that you get first dibs. Also, be sure to park in the office park across the street, but beware as you cross Centerway Road because lots of people speed on that road. I also recommend that one apple farmer. I like apples. You can get a nice photo and be able to grab some local meats or a nicely prepped soft serve. It's been two years since I have found this location. Although I do not come here often, since it is so far away from me, it's a good spot to stop and enjoy. July, the Sunflowers weren't out yet. Early August, not fully up. mid August, full sunflowers.

They are located at 935 Prose Street, next to Bark Central. There was quite a variety of vendors here for opening day. Not a lot of produce stands, but other things to enjoy such as Greek specialties from Mathias (now located off Twinbrook Pkwy) and Metro Microgreens selling a large variety of organic microgreens at reasonable prices. I bought a clamshell container of sunflower. About 4oz for $10. They come rooted in coco coir mats that are compostable. There is a parking garage the other side of Bark that is pretty vacant in the Market morning hours and of course free for two hours. The market is also very dog friendly and no masks are required anymore.

Something like that... very literal. The woman there was super helpful and ran down the line of breads (which they have a pretty solid selection of). I ended up getting a loaf of the rosemary and citrus sourdough, pumpernickel, a scone, and a loaf of challah for mom. I didn't LOVE the rosemary citrus or the pumpernickel. I thought the breads were a bit too dense and dry. The scone also wasn't the best scone I've ever had. I'd likely hold off on this stand next time. They do have DMV empanadas there which I love! That was lunch that day. I got a shrimp, spinach and cheese, and spicy pork empanada. All of them were delicious with a special shout out to the spinach and cheese and shrimp ones. On the way out of the market, I noticed this large smoker set up next to a pop up tent that I couldn't believe I missed on the way in. I picked up some brisket and smoked chicken from that stand. The brisket was a little dry, but the chicken was everything I wanted it to be. Deep smoky flavor that did not disappoint. The gentleman running that stand was nice enough to throw in a brioche bun so I could make a brisket sandwich when I got home. I toasted the bun, and accidentally burnt the heck out of it. It was so disappointing. Note: Brioche does not need to be toasted for long at all. SO much butter in the bread. But yeah, overall a cute little farmers market that has a decent selection of produce and local vendors. Miscellaneous Distillery sets up there to sell liquor produced in Mt. Airy. There is also a local seafood vendor, cheese vendor, coffee and more. You must wear a mask while in the market, and maintain social distancing. Some stands have signs pointing out that you should purchase what you touch. Exceedingly difficult with produce... but I tried my best.
