I like how there are seasonal options available here! I enjoy the iced lattes the most especially when there is a nice cold foam on top. The workers are always really nice too! Their frappes are also good and I love the chai as well. There is a parking lot around except it can be pretty crowded as there are a lot of other stores and restaurants around. I tried the berry scone and it was pretty dry... their espresso machines have been done from time to time which I think is strange they don't have a 2nd one as a backup as espresso is the main selling point here. As soon as I walked into Peet's Coffee, I was greeted by the essence strong fragrant, dark, smoky coffee with a very earthy smell. The aroma was absolutely enticing. I couldn't help myself. I ordered the House brew coffee in a large cup. Upon tasting it, it was bold, earthy, smoky, and had hints of caramel. The staff was friendly helpful and it was just a pleasant time there. A non Starbucks chain; I have the vibe that it doesn't want to be Starbucks which is great; yet there's a few things that reminds me of Starbucks. They have their own rewards program and sell coffee to go which are both a plus. Their coffee/tea selections are drinkable and have caffeine or no caffeine (DUH). Taste-wise it's got robustness and homeyness to them which is fine for a cold day. Food could be a bit better. While their pastures are ok, some items like their egg sand on whole grain could just use work; it's just an egg with American cheese slapped in between two pieces of whole grain bread that's hardly toasted with a boring taste. May have to switch it up to a different item next time I roll up. Interior has a good amount of sitting space and areas for conversation and bonding. The back room has a long table to do work or hold meetings; the sound does bounce of the walls so you may need headphones to block the noise out. Independent coffee shops are more my thing but this is a decent addition to the Ashburn area. read more

The manager at this Peet's coffee in Ashburn by whole foods refused to grind my coffee beans because I made the mistake of not realizing the bag I bought of coffee were whole beans that needed to be ground. When I realized it at home and returned to have them ground, they refused saying it was against policy. My new policy will be never to return to a Peet's coffee establishment. Starbucks forever! Today, I drove an hour to go to Peets to pickup coffee beans and also ordered a coffee to go. The employee who handled my order seemed to be inconvenienced in wanting to wait on me at all. When I informed her that my coffee was not hot and looked like it was old, I asked her if there was a microwave to heat it up and she said no. Granted the time in which I purchased the coffee was in the afternoon but she did not offer to make a fresh pot to replace the lukewarm beverage. When I'm in Northern VA, I enjoy hitting up Peet's as an alternative to Starbucks. Their coffee is good, and it's a good place to work. I've been to this location twice, once in the summer and once in the winter, and both times it was freezing in there. Even in the summer, the AC was just too high. I went in with a Groupon and since it was my first time ever going to Peet's (even though, yes, I realize they are EVERYWHERE) and I was a bit unsure. The guy that helped us was amazing and patient (even when I realized I left my phone with the Groupon in the car and had to run out to get it). He let my husband and me try their dark and light roast coffees which was nice because I ended up getting dark and my husband light. So I got the dark with some peppermint mocha syrup in it and my husband got the light roast without syrup. We ordered a coffee-free, vanilla blended thing for the kids and they were kind enough to let us order one and split it into two cups because my kids NEVER finish one by themselves. Our total was a bit under $10 which I thought was a decent price for 2 coffee and a blended thing split into two cups. The inside is nice but reminds me SO much of Starbucks--I think the shelves are even the same! They have a good variety of coffee, K Cups, mugs/tumblers, and snacks for sale. It was difficult for me not to buy some of the peppermint bark I saw. Overall I was impressed. It seemed pretty relax, kind, calm, and decent prices. I would go again. They had a few sofas (not many, maybe 3?) but a HUGE table in the back which was nice if you're in a big group or if you have work and you need some took to spread out. read more
