8/19/19 It was a hot followed by a sweat day. I was deeling very miserable, but I knew I would be alright. The water I was drinking was nice, but it was room temperature and did not cool me off. The water was given to me from Madame Puspa. Seeing the Kung Fu Tea shop, I headed over there to see what drink tickled me fancy. I settled on the Passionfruit with mango bubbles. The staff members were cheerful and worked quickly and get me the drink I had bought. Looking around the store, I saw some nice art decorations to make the business feel more comfortable. I really liked the painting of Bruce Lee. The attention to detail was spot on. The purple glass Budda was a nice touch too. Review #092 - 2018 After having lunch at JINYA, I was craving some KFT so since I had this spot bookmarked--being that it was close enough to my hotel, I decided to head out here. It was a little hard to find since Apple map doesn't give you an exact location. It just tells you that you are there once you reach the parking lot so I had to call and ask them exactly where they were. They're across from the bank and Chick-fil-A. Once we got there, we were able to place our orders right away since everyone else was already done and getting ready to leave. I got two of my usuals, since this would be my last time getting to enjoy their drinks before my next trip to a location that has their franchise within driving distance. The drinks were exactly how they should be made so that definitely made me super happy. Service was quick and good! Sadly, I had to toss more than half of my second drink since I kept it in the fridge and couldn't take it pass TSA check point the next morning. This Kung Fu Tea is a bit different than the other locations I've been to because it has a more Tous Les Jours meets Shilla Bakery feel where you wouldn't want to stay there for too long, but there are games out if you're waiting for your drink or waiting for someone. They got a lot cleaner since the last time I came and got a lot more staff. It's a bit hidden within the shopping plaza, but there's always 2-3 people in there with a drink or waiting for their drink. The last time I came, the tapioca pearls were a bit over cooked, but this time they were fairly undercooked. Both times the tea itself was fine though. Since this location is somewhat new and the staff all seem new (no one was the same between my two visits) I'm hoping they'll perfect their boba cooking skills soon. Not all franchise locations are the same and this Kung Fu Tea location is a prime example. Simply put, this location of KFT is on a whole different level/stratosphere. Outstanding. Truly, I think their teas taste better than any of the other locations I have visited. Every aspect of my visit (of which there are now many), is always so consistently wonderful and pleasant. For example: I am a creature of habit and usually order the same kind of beverage (Passion Fruit Green Tea) and I really can't explain it other than to say that the flavor seems deeper and richer here than anywhere else. Really, the flavor is out of this world, but only at this location for some reason. Case in point, this past week I went to a KFT in the North Bethesda area, and the tea did not taste nearly the same. Even the bubbles are noticeably superior with an unmatched chewy texture that is both flavorful and fresh. This is not something I can say of the other location where the bubbles were either too soggy or too hard and clumped together. In addition, the staff are always so friendly and kind. In many ways this location has spoiled me and my expectations of good bubble tea. But I absolutely respect and am grateful for the completeness and consistency of the customer care and quality of product that they offer. read more

Whenever I visit a new city or state, there are three things I look for. Boba, pho, and kbbq. Though I didn't try pho or kbbq while I was here, I'm sure dang glad I got to get boba! I think there's a KFT in Seattle which would probably be my closest option (if I really wanted KFT)... anyway, I had to try their original milk tea. If a boba place usually messes up an original milk tea, it's game over for me. KFT does a pretty good job! It wasn't too sweet and the boba was nice and chewy! I just wished I got to try more flavors and see how their green or black teas were. So good! I got the Rosehip milk tea with reduced sugar per the recommendation of the cashier, and I really enjoyed it. I've never had milk tea before, but I'd definitely get it again. My girls got mango snows (basically a smoothie) that were some of the best I've ever tasted, and my son got a strawberry lemonade with bubbles. I don't care for bubbles, but the lemonade was delicious. We came around 4 pm, and there were only a few people there, but within 10 minutes the place was packed! First of all, I just want to say that I really love Kung Fu Tea and when I saw that there was one in Sterling I was ecstatic. It was my first time visiting this place and I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, my visit was not the best. I came by around 7 pm when the store was completely empty with a few friends and I was not greeted by the staff. They were quite rude when we walked in and made my visit unpleasant. The tea tasted fine but unfortunately, I will not be coming back again because the atmosphere was unbearable. It shouldn't be that hard to be respectful and friendly to your customers. read more

Being that this location is the closest one to me, I'll be biased here and say that it's extremely convenient and provides a product consistent with all the other KFT locations you'll visit. Better than Dulles Town Center and Reston if you're in those areas. This is the only KFT I'll go to aside from Centerville, Annandale, and Rockville. They're very consistent and I don't have to guess if the quality of my drink will change when I go. They also make some really good topping suggestions with drinks. read more

Our family lives within walking distance of Kung Fu Tea, but didn't notice it was there until just this week, and unfortunately we missed the Grand Opening. We hope that Kung Fu Tea is able to get signage near Rt 7 so that it'll be obvious from the highway rather than tucked away in the plaza behind the diner and bank. Usually we visit Dranesville Community Plaza to eat at Chick-Fil-A, to get groceries from Shoppers, to visit PNC bank or Wells Fargo, and to see the latest games at GameStop. Thankfully Kung Fu Tea is opposite of Chick-Fil-A, so it should get some visibility and traffic. CFA is always popular with the Dominion High School students, parents, and working families. To be honest, that's how we found Kung Fu Tea ourselves! On our first visit, we both got Milk Tea with Boba, and got to watch Deathnote (anime) on their walled television. The staff was extremely friendly, efficient, and the Milk Tea with Boba was seriously delish! Having tried boba tea from several other restaurants in Sterling and Dulles, we honestly enjoyed the flavor and tapioca pearls (boba) from Kung Fu Tea the most.
