Really like this place. Great location, next to new Whole Foods in Ashburn/Lansdowne. My wife and I like to go hang out and read in this coffee shop. Not as cozy as I'd like--not enough comfy sofas, but there's a bar along the window that gets the job done. I got a taste for Peet's when I was out vacationing in SanFran, so I was super excited when I saw the Sterling area finally got one b/c the only other one is in Tyson's!! This has turned into my go-to coffee shop in the Sterling area for hands down! Every time I go in, the employees are always very friendly and happy to answer any questions customers may have. They usually don't take more than a few minutes to make each drink, unless there are a lot of people ordering back to back. Overall, I've been super impressed by the amount of attention given while preparing each drink along with the quality of beverages here. They have a very broad spectrum of coffees and teas, and foods for everyone's taste. If you haven't been yet, try it out & see for yourself if it exceeds your local Sbux or DD. Have to say... From the well-lit, clean atmosphere to the well-versed barista, I'm COMING BACK!! I loved the latte. I usually have starbucks, but I might just have to switch teams. This roast is not the darker, slightly acidic/burnt flavor I am used to with s-bux. Latte was smooth and foam was terrific!! Barista was also full of knowledge, engaged us in conversation, told us a few tidbits about their roasting and wasn't pushy or too intrusive. He was awesome and it just felt like a much more inviting experience than the other place I usually go. Really glad I gave this place a shot! read more

So, I've been here 4 times now, all morning visits for coffee. All four times I asked for a light roast. All 4 times they did not have any brewed. I think I have given them ample opportunity to be squared away. I don't plan on returning. Oh, the last time there I also got a chocolate chip scone...4 chocolate chips in the scone. Really? Ordered hot cocoa, tipped 1$, so $5.08, it was cold. I told them approx 3mins after. Sat and took a few sips and thought, "this is like Luke warm tap water, I'm not wasting the calories on it. I consistently have fast, excellent service at Peets. I've always gotten some of the best coffee I've ever had, and the food is petty good. I wish there were more options that weren't focused on buttered croissants and sweets. But I do like that they have quiches which don't have wheat, and the sandwiches are always delicious. Food and drinks come out really quickly, and the staff are incredibly smart about the different types of beans you can buy by the pound. read more

I've been to this particular location twice. So far, they've made consistently good hot chocolates. It's my husband's favorite. This time around, I got a Chocolate & Caramel Swirl Javiva. The coffee base in the blended drink had a smooth taste. It didn't have a bitter espresso taste to it. It was sweet without being overly sweet. I wasn't fond of the whipped cream, but it was more of a personal preference rather than it being bad. My only real complaint was the baristas.. They seemed more interested in chatting with their friends who gathered around the counter than being friendly to everyone. While they weren't rude, they gave everyone else the bare minimum of service while enjoying their time with friends. I'd go back for the drinks. read more

I used to be a big fan of Starbucks, but ever since going to Peet's I have completely changed my mine. Peet's is filled with great staff members that are always helpful. One of the barista's had noticed that I come in often and told me about their rewards system where I can get a free drink after purchasing ten drinks. This is great news because I go there at least three times a week so I will be able to get that free drink in no time! Peet's Coffee is also the perfect location to study or rewind for a bit. The seating is very vast in this location so you never have to worry about not finding a table. My favorite spot is near the back with a big table because it gives you plenty of room to work especially if you are trying to work on a group project. I've never been inside of a Peet's coffee before so this was a first. There were a lot of tables and chairs for people to hang out in. I'm assuming they have wifi because I noticed a girl was sitting there with her laptop. This location is very clean, the decor of this shop made it feel very warm and cozy. I made an order for their light Colombian roast. I usually order medium roast but Peet's Colombian roast will be my Go-to from now on. The cashier who rang me up was very friendly and nice so no complaints there. I wish I had more time to stick around. read more

Beautiful store, decent coffee, however the WIFI is terrible. It is either very slow or it doesn't work at all. I brought it up with the store manager on several different occasions and they didn't seem to care. Lack of good quality WIFI will push customers somewhere else. read more

Being a chain coffee store I was pleasantly surprised to see some latte art! The customer service gets a thumbs up from me as well. Tried the cinnamon scone and it was horrible but I'm giving them a pass on that because everything else about the place makes up for one bad food item.
