Shake & Bops Botanical Cafe is a small coffee shop/cafe located on a small back street in Old Town Leesburg, VA. It opened last November 2023. There is very little street parking on Wirt Street, so I parked on another street and walked over. It's a small, quaint coffee shop inside, there are several places to sit and enjoy your beverage. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of Half n' Half. Paid with Apple Pay. I asked what was behind the name "Shake & Bops?" The barista stated that they were nicknames or references to the owners daughters. Cool little shop! #ShakeAndBopsBotanicalCafe

Cutest little coffee shop in Leesburg! Plant-filled, cozy and friendly service. There are spots to sit inside and outside in the back.

This place is just stunning...the dining area, stairs with positive messages, the ordering/"shopping", even the bathroom! The service is just exceptional, above and beyond. It was a seameless process to make the reservation online and edit as needed. There were automatic emails and texts for the reservation confirmation and reminder. Each afternoon tea includes 2 pots of tea, 1 macaron/person, and additional bites (savory & sweet). Luckily, there were 2 of us, so we each ordered our own teas. I'm not sure how flexible they are if requesting additional tea pots for larger parties (max 8 people). The weekdays tea is $35/person, weekends $40/person (needs a reservation). There is an 18% gratuity to all the final bill regardless of the number of people in the party. I would highly recommend the Thai tea...I don't add any sugar or cream to my tea and it was still so tasty. I ordered the coconut macaron, which is the newest addition the the macaron family. Parking: there is parallel parking available in front of and around the establishment. There is also a parking garage roughly 1 block (walking distance), which is free on the weekends. If planning a visit on the weekdays, be sure to read the parking signs carefully. I would definitely return to try other items on their menu.

They also had an osmanthus flower drink and a signature drink with grapes that was very tasty as well. The hands on part was my favorite. They walked us through how to properly whisk our own matcha and let us practice the technique ourselves. On top of that, we got to sample a variety of their teas throughout the class. The owner clearly knows their craft. Their in-store matcha has actually won awards, and you can taste the quality difference. The space itself is beautifully curated too, with a whole shelf of adorable teaware and gifts to buy afterward. Such a fun, educational experience for a group. Highly recommend if you want to actually learn about matcha rather than just drink it!!!

There are also a bunch of tea accessories which I find very adorable however could be a bit pricey. The drink selection is pretty big. The drink I got however wasn't my favorite. I got the lime guava strawberry oolong. When I tasted the sample it was very yummy. However when I ordered it the drink came with so much stuff inside, it made the drink experience kinda disappointing. The sample was strained so I didn't think the drink was going to have guava seeds inside of it. While drinking it the seeds were impossible to ignore as they were hard and small. It's like a choking hazard really. I wish they had strained it before serving. So just be warned about some of the drinks you order.

Buford's Biscuits absolutely lives up to the hype. If you're a biscuit lover, this place deserves a…read morespot on your must-visit list. We stopped in on a Friday morning and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. We were seated immediately, which gave us a chance to take in the restaurant's charming farmhouse aesthetic. With its high ceilings and rustic décor, it feels like a modern take on an old country farmhouse that's warm and inviting without feeling overdone. As an unexpected bonus, we happened to visit during Restaurant Week, and the special was an incredible value. It included a Buff-Mosa, deviled eggs, and the Low Country Biscuit. My wife ordered the Southern Philly, so we ended up sampling a little of everything. The Buff-Mosa was a refreshing way to start the meal. Made with Blue Ridge Vodka, Cava, and strawberry-watermelon juice, it was light, crisp, and not overly sweet. The deviled eggs were topped with bacon jam, which added a nice savory touch. They had a bit more mustard and horseradish kick than I'm accustomed to, but they were still delicious and packed with flavor. The real star, though, was the Low Country Biscuit. It was absolutely enormous, stacked with perfectly fried chicken, chunky pimento cheese, and hot honey. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the combination of the rich pimento cheese with the sweet heat of the hot honey was outstanding. The honey added just enough spice to complement the sandwich without overpowering the other flavors. I also tried a bite of my wife's Southern Philly, and it was fantastic. It's a creative Southern spin on a classic Philly cheesesteak and one that's definitely worth ordering. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. One fun detail I really appreciated was that the check is presented inside a book, a small touch that fits perfectly with the restaurant's farmhouse theme. Between the outstanding biscuits, generous portions, creative menu, and excellent service, Buford's Biscuits delivered a fantastic breakfast experience. There are still plenty of menu items I'd love to try, so we'll definitely be back.

However, the waitress walked up to our table sniffling and wiping her nose. The last thing you want to see is a sick server helping you. And I don't know if it's because she was a little sick but she was not friendly. I asked my companion if he thought she seemed unfriendly and he agreed. And although our food came out looking really good, we chatted about how our dishes tasted, and both of us were kind of lukewarm about them. It felt like each dish was relying too much on what went on the biscuit for flavor and the biscuit itself was bland. That was really surprising since that's the entire theme of the restaurant. I don't know if it was an off day and they forgot to add salt or something, but even the leftover biscuit that I had the next day was bland after the second try with it. A colleague had actually recommended this spot to me so I was overall surprised by our visit. I'm not sure if we'd give it another try.

I was just looking for some good coffee one morning when I saw a little hole in the wall and realized it's a little coffee shop! I've gotten an iced coffee there, and a matcha the next two times. Both are great. The baristas are all really nice and will very likely be able to make you something if you wanna tweak an item on the menu a bit. And, most importantly, their matcha is the real deal. It's not the bitter and awful cheap stuff that most cafes will sell to you for the same price. This is the good stuff, and you can tell they make any syrup they add to it in house. It's so refreshing. If you love coffee, and especially matcha, this place is it!

It took 10 mins for anyone to come see us. I had to get up to ask for someone to get our orders. To boot, the person who was supposed to assist us, was in the back hall by the restrooms texting and hanging out. I assume no one told her that we were there. The cider I ordered was warm, so I had to ask for a cup of ice at the bar. My husband's burger was meant to be medium well and it was raw. Lastly, it's extremely loud in that room. The chairs are metal, and when drug against the flooring, they make an awful sound! They really need a form of rubber on the legs. Very hard for grandma, who has hearing aids. Poor thing was so uncomfortable. The room next to us, with a door leading to the window to the kitchen, was so incredibly annoying. They were pounding the entire time we were seated, and it was LOUD! We all just sat completely silent. This was an incredibly disappointing visit and we will not come back.
