Staff was crap, the track was so bumpy and it literally HURT to drive the carts any turn sent the cart into the air , after telling the staff they just shrugged it off saying I was too short and I didn't weigh enough to keep the cart planted which was BS because I've went to other K1s and never had this issue even the heavier guys said the same thing . My experience at K1 Speed Richardson on Friday, April 24 around 10 PM was by far one of the worst I've had at an establishment. I went with my wife and friends to do two races. My wife asked about her birthday race but was initially charged full price and told the promotion only applied if two races were purchased. After asking for a manager, it was confirmed we were correct and the deal was honored. I was first charged $108.13 on my card. The charge showed in my bank account, but staff said they couldn't see it on their end. After the manager spoke to someone on the phone, we were told that if we wanted to race, we would need to pay again. The card was then run using my wife's card (same joint account), and that payment went through. I later had to file a claim with my bank to recover the original charge. Later that night, I realized I had lost my wallet, likely from having it in my pocket while riding. The next morning around 9:30 AM, I received a call from Philip Lee stating that an employee had found it. I wasn't able to pick it up until Sunday afternoon. When I picked it up, I was told it had been found in a kart. As I was leaving, I checked my wallet and noticed approximately $200 cash was missing. I had attempted to pay with cash earlier that night, so I know the cash was in my wallet at that time. I brought this up to the manager on duty, Country, who was initially helpful and said he would look into it. He first told me an employee found the wallet, then later said it may have been a customer. I explained that didn't make sense to me since we were among the last customers to leave around 11:45 PM, and I received a call the next morning before they were open. During that conversation, Country acknowledged the situation was concerning and indicated he would follow up. After not hearing anything, I called back on Tuesday and spoke again with Philip Lee. I asked for clarification about the earlier statements regarding a customer finding the wallet, given the timeline. During that conversation, he was dismissive, did not provide clear answers, and stated there was nothing they could do, also noting that the cameras were not working. I understand that losing my wallet was my responsibility, and I recognize there is no direct proof of what happened to the cash. However, the conflicting information, lack of follow-up, and overall handling of the situation was very frustrating. At this point, I am not expecting to recover the money, but I wanted to document my experience so it can be reviewed internally. While the racing itself was fun and most employees were friendly, I will not be returning to this location or recommending it based on this experience. read more

Horrible service! Employees were rude and confrontational throughout the entire time. One employee by the name of Jose, decided to argue with me, I was shocked! Especially paying $60 for this experience is outright robbery. I was told this establishment was decent but I guess not. Do better team! I suggest having a well needed training session about customer service. I shouldn't have to pay $60 for attitude and rude remarks when I could've just went to Dicks Last Resort. read more

Haven't been to K1 in over 5 years and today did not disappoint. We had 3 rides and loved the course. The staff was very helpful, especially the manager. One of our races was stalled due to another riders cart dying multiple times. I mentioned this to the manager, and he gave us a free ride. There was no real wait and the location was very clean. The website said the place opened at 11am, the truth is they open at noon. We arrived at noon on Good Friday (when most kids are off ffrom school) only to be told our kids couldn't race until 2pm. Whoever is making the business decisions ought to go back to school themselves. read more

Was here back in early April for a buddies bachelor party. It was fun and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend! I heard the massage chair was amazing! Had a blast today racing go carts at K1 with family! Our group of 8 had a package of four rides which they spaced out around other groups so we were around for a few hours. Not too bad since they had other ways to entertain (pool table, ski ball, arcade games, massage chairs, etc). And they had concessions so we had fries and wings while we waited. Good size track, and they allow a practice lap before you start racing for time. The carts were fast with speeds topping out at 45mph. This was my first time go carting and I'd definitely come back again. The only reason for a star off was the time it took for our 4 races (over three hours) and the fact I ended up with bruises on my back from the seat. Still worth it, this place is a ton of fun! read more

The track and atmosphere is decent. But the customer service is terrible. We were told 10/15 mins and waited 35. Rude slick comments, it seems like employees don't wanna be there. We got greeted with a sigh and eye roll as we were approached. The employees out on the track are annoyed because people don't know what to do, but they explain nothing. The safety seems questionable since there was never any directions from the staff. No seatbelt instructions? Obviously as adults we can figure this out, but kids are racing too. There's an obviously experienced individual racing just to overstep others, which takes away from the experience of the race. I wouldn't go back. The manager and the lady working tonight were rude. The process to check in was slow....our party included 8 people and it took her nearly 45 minutes to check us in. She made an unsolicited comment about not serving alcohol...we were like okay who asked for alcohol...then she told me I needed to hurry up and make up my mind when I replied, who do you think you are talking to she changed her tune. This place is definitely not worth the money. The cars are fast but there always seems to be some reason for them to stop the race. This is the nicest and cleanest K1 we have been to. Our boys love gokarting and since it gets so hot during summer indoor gokarting is the only way for big and small to enjoy some friendly racing among friends. I'm saying this is the nicest facility so far compare to the ones we have visited in other states or even the ones in Austin. Friendly staff, nicely maintained track and gokarts. Fun morning for everyone! Don't forget to sign the waiver online for each participant! And check out for deals they have! We have three boys and one adult who love gokarting so deals are great! read more

Skip this if you are trying this for Junior racers. Called them on Thursday to ask about junior racers, explained I was planning to bring my son for his birthday and they said everything was good. Show up on Friday and they tell me they stopped doing junior races after a certain time and don't typically do them on Friday and Saturday's anyways. Folks at the front literally said the website is crap and wrong most of the time. FAQs tell you everything about racing/requirements and don't mention anything about specific times for age brackets. The girl in front selling the program made it really confusing. We end up buying a 2 round package and after going on the 1st round, they said they will call us for the 2nd round but after sitting for over an hour with 6 ppl max in between this time racing, the 7 people working there are not paying attention. When we went up to them, they said we were in the cue but clearly after 20 mins later walked up to them again and the nice girl had no idea how to find us in the system and had to call their manager out. It seems the workers are hanging out more than working. A place like this on a quiet weekday with 7 ppl staffed is not knowing how to run the business. read more

We went Saturday afternoon and we matched up with grown men that brought their own helmets and gloves. Each lap our cars were slowed or flagged to "let pass". several times we were shut down because the group of old men chose to rough each other up. Ruined our experience. It appeared the group knew the staff. Fine and dandy but let those fools race each other, why waste my experience. Will not be back!!! Fast karts. Decent track. Open space - doing good job during COVID with lots of cleaning. Manager in back room very oblivious to employee performance - explained below. Overall the track experience is fine. The karts are fast, the track is challenging-ish, and the race duration is decent (8 laps? or 10 laps? per race, I think). The total race time is maybe... 4-6 minutes? And the price per race is about $20-something dollars. Overall not a terrible cost-to-value trade. My main complaint is that the employees don't really understand how to provide a good experience for the customers. The day I went, I was with 5 other people. The max # of people on the track they can have is about 8 racers. Apparently, if you only want YOUR group to race alone (no other joined groups) you need to explicitly state that. Which is fine, makes sense. But the problem is: The employees will still enter the races WITH YOUR GROUP. I would expect that if you're working on the clock, you shouldn't be racing, because you're supposed to be working. The employees probably get free races as a perk since they work there, which is also fine, but if they are going to race for free, they should do it when the track is empty and they have no customers. The group I was with are all just normal people, no experienced karters. So when an employee with a lot of experience just joins the group, they kind of ruin the whole thing since they're destroying the track and zipping around and making some of us in the race nervous (this is what the friends of mine who aren't really into go karts stated). We were just trying to have a silly goose time on our own without some try-hard employee taking advantage of a free opportunity to race. I would prefer not to come back here to be honest. But the price is decent and the track is fine. But I'll try some other places in Dallas before coming back to K1. read more

Dangerous place. I've been to several, in California and both in the Dallas area- This location is by far the worst. They DO NOT pay attention to safety- especially during junior league events. They have allowed children to get hurt because they don't follow simple rules and they ignore ethics of sportsmanship and following rules. The staff is horrible and the manager doesn't care. If you want a horrible dangerous experience, this is the spot. If you want your child to be safe and have fun while knowing they will be treated fairly and equally no matter who they are or their parents are- STAY AWAY. My son and I try to go to the local K1 Speed whenever we visit a major city. This one was pretty good with knowledgeable track staff, a lot of seating area, and a fast and fun course. My only criticism is that the cashier up front did not have a welcoming or helpful attitude. You could tell she didn't care to be there and probably didn't get along with the rest of the staff either. It didn't really bother me too much but I could imagine others being turned off or intimidated by her. read more

They had a special the day we went in, buy 2 get one free. I had my Grandkids with me. However after observing my grand kids go around the track I saw that each cart was controlled speed. Some went faster while others slower. That was the first race. The second race just so happen my grand son got the cart which was the fastest, from the first race. He was excited. After the first lap everything was go well and he was having fun. However they slowed him down so that others could catch up. I understand that the control of the speed for safety. But he was not bumping or hitting anyone. After the race my grandson was so disappointed. It was fun, but will not be going back read more

My boyfriend planned a date night for this event and he decided to purchase the races ahead of time. Upon arrival on our date night, the representative that sold him 4 races a day before date night said I will have to purchase my own races since I did not have a card. The representative clearly knew that the four races my boyfriend purchased was for both of us and said she cannot split them. We purchased more races and when our names were called, the safety representative went over the safety rules and then he told me I cannot race and have to make a profile since my name is not me. Everyone racing was already in their cart and had their helmets on, including my boyfriend. The safety manager knew my boyfriend was with me and told him to race without me. He said no, I attended this event with my girlfriend and I am racing with my girlfriend. He went over to me, not knowing what was going on. The representative that sold us more races did not explain to us that I had to make a profile. With all these mistakes and poor customer service, we just wanted a refund and leave. The manager Aaliyah could not even give us a refund and stated since the transaction occurred a day before, they cannot refund us. The manager and all of her staff did nothing to compensate all of their mistakes and were not even apologetic. They all deserve to be FIRED or go back to training for knowing what is Customer Service and under monitoring because this site is POORLY managed. read more

We took our son and 11 other boys here for his birthday on Friday. We call the day before as well as the day of and were told specifically that there will be enough cars and junior cars for the entire group. When we got there, the manager informed us that they were no junior cars available. This led to us having to leave with all 12 boys and find another location for the party. This was horribly managed by K-1 and they have done nothing to assist us. I reached out to the manager as well as general manager I've gotten zero response. This place has horrible customer service and clearly Staff that is I informed IT has no clue what's going on with the operations. Stay away from this place unless you want to be disappointed. Birthday only happens once and this place ruined it for our family, my son and his 11 friends that were invited and driven to this place. As for Ryan's comment about a wait, I never heard that option presented to us. Any we did not book b/c your staff told us that day that we didn't need to since there would be plenty of junior carts available. In the end, you had 12 6th grade boys go home after all came out (and driven by my wife and I) to only be disappointed. read more

Me and a couple people came here and was told that we get 12 laps which is fine but they added on two dudes (who had already just raced before us) who were very experienced so when they finished their 12 laps the race ended meanwhile me and my friends only got about 6 laps. We all paid 30+ dollars to not get a full experience. They also kept stopping our carts and putting the 'Let pass' for the two dudes. This was a waste of money. read more

I have been to this place a few times before their time tracker/system problem and a few times after. Every time has been great! The Race was great and customer service has been spot on. It does seem like they are genuinely apologetic for the system issue and its really out of the workers control. Seems like they are doing their best to work with the hand that they have been dealt until someone higher up figures out how to fix the issue. Also, Please add more games to help kill time when there is a wait!! read more
