First off don't wast your time here! K1 is a HUGE rip off, even with the buy 2 get one it still comes out to right about 15 bucks a race. My friends and I went here tonite and had a horrible experience. I was hit in the back of the cart and pushed under the barrier wall and was stuck there for about 4 minutes before any one got to me! I don't like to name drop but I think this deserved it, Baduki is the name of the guy who had the remote and was not paying any attention to the race at all, he was much more interested in his cell phone and the cute girl that was sitting directly behind him. When he did show up he was the last person to help lift the barrier off of me my guess is 100 lbs of pressure easily , I still have bruises, the other two were very helpful and generally concerned about my well being. The other guy baduki said don't drive like an idiot and that won't happen. I was quite upset at this point, I looked for a manager but none to be found, I asked the girl at the front desk and she said the manager was on her cell phone and not available now. WOW that is not cool at all I've never been treated soo badly going to a place to have fun. And to make things even better when baduki left the track area another guy came to take his place, he was watching all the racing and not talking on his phone, he was asked a question from the mother of the young boy racing and the manager , Allyson , all but ripped off his head saying that you have to watch the race and not be talking to the customers, the mother had a legitimate question I would have wanted an answer if it was my child. The thing that got me is that she did it right in front of about 10 people, she was verbally abusive and not kind at all. You just dont do that!!!! !In my opinion from someone who goes racing often he was doing the best job of anyone else in there. Both baduki and Allyson need to be removed from their positions, and someone competent put in their place. If after all of this you decide to go racing here, I beg of you not to race if you see either of them, your experience will not end well. And just to clarify I have raced here about 40 times and also at the gas powered ones ( octane raceway 48 th ave and van buren ) about 40 times, yes the electric is faster but the service is severely lacking. For me that's a deal breaker I would rather go the the slower carts but get much better service!!!!!!! read more

Well, this is another stop I made on my recent business trip to Phoenix. I am a racing enthusiast who has raced at indoor and outdoor karting facilities all over the country. Yes, I'm primarily a Nascar fan . . . don't judge me. But I do know my racing, and K1 Speed has got it where it counts. First, when you arrive at their facility, you know you have landed somewhere special. The parking lot (their section at least) is very well kept, and looks brand new. The lobby is very inviting with nice couches for relaxing and escaping the heat. The lobby is compact, but the flow is easy to understand. I was welcomed by their cashier staff, who were very knowledgeable and friendly. Having been to K1 Speed elsewhere, I was already pretty familiar with the process, but their cashiers were good about explaining everything to me anyway. There was a little bit of a wait for my first race (but it was a weekend, so what should I expect, really?) But once I got my first race, the other races came fast and furious. Track staff was very attentive. You can tell that they like their jobs, because they are having so much fun, it even lifts my experience. The karts performed just as I had expected, and were in great shape. More on their karts: They are an electric karting place, which is also good on several fronts: The karts perform better (in my opinion). Better speed off of the line, and better top speed. Also, you don't have to deal with gas fumes (breathing them in, getting them in your clothes and hair, etc.). The facility is clean (including the restrooms, which is my normal guide for these things) and they even have a nice loft area for waiting and TV watching. Downside: They are hard to find. They are freeway visible, but once you exit, you should rely on your GPS to get you there. read more

The karts will feel different each race, even though the speeds are all within the 25/26 second range. Your weight, the tire wear, the kart wear, your MOOD, as well as other factors will affect your perception about one kart being faster than the other. One may indeed feel snappier while the other may feel more gradual, but all will be within range. A good racer will learn to adapt and enjoy the race - it's a race! And time is your opponent! We learned a lot from the Manager who really helped us out with our driving styles, and tips on how to handle the corners. We race the K1 Speed tracks in California and love the indoor electric plug and play races, like racing in flip-flops (although sometimes the drive to get there on California freeways is like a race in itself, but I digress...) Just remember, for the love of racing, don't let the variables, hurdles, or business get in the way of your enjoyment. Use them to test your abilities. If you can pull off good track times despite the odds, work the gas pedal right with minimal braking, and keep a smile on your face, your adrenaline rush will be nothing but sweet. We family recently visited K1 in Phoenix for the first time. Our past experience with K1 has been with the Carlsbad CA. location. The Phoenix facility is not the best location for some but its customer oriented staff really makes the difference. The entire team is professional, knowledgeable and very helpful with every customer, from the youngest drivers to the seasoned veterans. Make sure you look into K1's race packages or coupons, they can make a big difference, allowing you to get in several sessions of racing for a very reasonable rate. The facility and karts are well maintained with a recently upgraded track layout. All karts seem to be very equal, making the racing experience fun and challenging for everyone. They have karts for kids and faster karts for teens and adults. If you're really into racing, check out their team events and GP racing programs. Its a great way to meet new people and enjoy family time. Please don't take your kids- teens here. My 13 year old son and his friend were strike several times by a man on his late 20s. This man was friend of one of the employees, because I saw him hi five an employee. This individual was breaking all the rules, and the employees didn't say anything because they knew him. My son had a concussion after he was bumped 4 times by the same guy, and his friend was hurt on the back. When I talked to the manager he was so cold blooded, He said: WE SEE THIS ALL THE TIME, this is why you sign a waiver. I get it, but you don't expect employees not doing their job. (Letting this man - criminal hurt others) The rules are on the Wall but employees don't reinforce them. Long story short this place is run by MONKEYS. Please if you love your kids - teens don't take them here. They just gave me a California number to complain. That day my son was in the emergency room until 4am. I wish I could give this place a 0 stars or below 5 stars. They are the worst experience I ever had read more

My girlfriend and I go to K1 Speed quite often. The staff is great! They are always friendly and readily answer any questions we may have. While there have been very minor issues over the few months (and about 50 races... and counting) we have been racing, they have been very few. Our overall view of K1 Speed is that a visit makes for a great date. We both love to race and on League Race nights she is there to cheer me on... though with her lap times dropping, she may be amongst the competition soon. We both hope you will stop by, meet the friendly staff (including the Managers Allyson and Brian; who are both also very friendly and helpful), and get in a few races. While the wait can get a bit extensive on the weekends; it is a great opportunity to watch how others handle the track, and try to learn a few racing lines. They have some pretty good deals on the week days. Weekends look bussy whenever I go. Which I think is normal since its the weekend. People need to realize that the employees dont have control over the wait time so I dont understand why people even complain. Call ahead of time to know your wait time, jeezus. NOT EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND YOU, or whenever YOU want to race. Ive seen some pretty rude people talk about the staff when its them who need to get an attitude check. (flips hair.) Anywho, staff is always helpfull, friendly, nice and as infomative as possible. Nice facility, cool managers and cute pit crew. (wink wink) Great place for family, they do not serve beer or none of that which is good because it does seem family orientated. (if you want to get flatout drunk go to Octane) Anyways, just thought Id give this place some justice, love coming here, I come and bring friends when I can. Last night was the first time I've been to this place. Showed up with a couple of friends and my 3 year old son, I didn't know what to expect and we just came in to see the place to come back when my son isn't with me so I can ride with friends, my friends liked the track and decided to try it out, me having my son with me sat on the side and couldn't ride that's when Matt asked if I wanted to ride he wouldn't mind watching my son and he'll entertain him so I can ride. I kept my eye on him and saw how Matt went over and beyond to keep my son entertained till we finished our ride. I saw him get him a stuffed animal and get him a kids shirt and have him sit in a cart that's parked safely on the side. All I'm saying is this place doesn't just have the best carts I've tried and one of the nicest tracks they have the best customer service I've encountered in a while. I actually never imagined myself being in a racing track because I find it scary but my boyfriend brought me here at K1 Speed when we came over with some of his friends for a little vacation. It was nice to actually spend some of our time here in a kart racing center. This is definitely a female-friendly place that's why I like it. I though I'll get out of place because I'm the only female in the group. Anyway, the guys here are really nice. For a beginner like me, they were able to make me understand what I need to do and the rules in kart racing. And during the race, I find it really comfortable to drive in those karts, it's not hard to navigate. I hit the sides of the track a few times but it was actually okay because even when you hit the side you can still go back on track when you're driving. I might try out a few more go kart racing, this first before getting into faster cars. Lol. read more

Doing kart racing has been a dream of mine. It's just a short term goal because there are a lot kart racing centers that I can access from where I live but I just had an opportunity last summer and it was here at K1 Speed Phoenix when we visited my grandma. I'm not technical with regards to my review because I'm not sure how fast it should run anyway or how this works but all I can say is this is such a fun place! If you just want to escape from your daily routine/activities or just have a blast during the weekend, it's nice to get to K1 Speed. They really give out excellent service! Plus you can make the most out of your money because you can get more laps but you save more on your money. I wanted to try this out more on our place, but I don't think we have K1 speed at MI. But will be coming back on Thanksgiving on Phx so yes! This will totally be exciting. read more

K1 Speed is perfect for you boring lifestyle. I'm not a fan of kart racing and I certainly didn't imagine myself being one on any instances but I guess I was wrong. Came here with my friends while we were having road trip, we saw K1 Speed and they really wanted to try it out so we did. I didn't want to go with them in the race, but they wanted the package that involves 8 individuals to save money and for more laps so I had no choice but to get into one of the karts and race with them. But hey I thank my friends for this! It was a totally nice experience! The karts speed were fast, but just enough for my driving skills, and the track was cool. What's nice is if you bump into the sides, it won't do damage. I eventually made it to the second qualifying round so yey,.. I'm starting to become a fan now and hopefully I can do more of this. read more

I had a blast here at K1 Speed. Definitely a very exciting experience that you want to try over and over again! I went here with the guys and a few girls as well and we definitely enjoyed our afternoon. We sort of weren't excited at first because we're not really into kart racing. We just came here because one of the guys said it was a nice experience. It was quite a wait but it was okay because there were other things to do rather just waiting so that's real nice K1 Speed! Good job to you. When it was our time to race, well that's where the fun begins. We were like shouting on the racetrack like little kids because we want to win the race. During stressful days, I find myself wanting to go here at K1 Speed. One thing I love about kart racing is you can dispose your really stressful day to this hobby. The atmosphere's nice here. It's sporty... For those who doesn't like noise, you might just want to step out but for those who can relax with these type of activities, better join in the game! K1 Speed also provide undoubtedly excellent service! They've got really great guys who you can chat with. If you're a regular, they already know who you are and you talk like your friends. Even with the other customers. If you go here alone sometimes, that's cool because you can get along with the rest of the regulars. We were just driving around the city (that's me and my son) and for some reason, he noticed this kart racing center and said he wanted to go here. I really didn't agree to it but he was about to start his tantrums... so we came here for a drive instead. Being worried of my son's safety, I was about to ask a lot of questions but their staff explained everything to us. And it's a good thing that we came, there was an ongoing junior kart racing. I didn't get to racing anymore, just my soon. Just a regular 14 lap race with the other kids who were there. Looks like he really enjoyed, and my son didn't get any scratch at all so that put me to ease! Now my son is really interested to go back because he said he wants more... I heard there are classes for this. I might just enroll him next summer. read more

K1 Speed isn't that much of a win for me but it did not disappoint me at all. Well just a little but the rest are A-OK! The only problem I have here at K1 Speed is the reservation process. The place is great, service is excellent, you can do other activities before or after the race. I was just a little disappointed with what happened regarding our reservation. We reserved for a group of 9 at a certain time but when we arrived, we didn't get to race at that time because the tracks were full, there was already an ongoing race. Now we didn't know what happened so we approached one of the staff, good thing though they explained and said there was a problem in the system at that day. But they actually compromised for that mistake, I just hoped that this won't happen again the next I visit. read more

Hey hey hey! Well, for an old guy like me (well, not that old, I'm actually just exaggerating) I really don't imagine myself running around using a small electric go kart. I'm a big guy you know. But hey! Here at K1 Speed, their go karts are really comfortable and the size is definitely good, not like the karts I rode before which is really small. It's pretty good with the speed as well, fair enough. I don't like the idea of time trial and I prefer really the race type because it gives much thrill so it's better if you go here with someone or it's a busy day so you can have a race with the rest of the guys. :) They've got a really good deal with the racing by the way, the more you race, the lesser you pay! Haha. It's really nice here that's why the 5 stars is actually well deserved. read more

Our friend who just got an accident from being involved in car racing got out of the hospital and has already recovered. We know he loves racing so much so we decided to throw him a party here at K1 Speed. It's totally different from car racing which he really got involved but we wanted him to like kart racing as well... simply because it's safer! We certainly don't want to see our friend lying in the hospital bed again! Our surprise worked, he liked it. He likes K1 Speed! Thank you to K1 Speed for throwing out a great party! The food was really nice by the way, we all loved it! And we love the idea of having an awarding during the race, lifts up our spirit and our friends spirit! Now we are all into kart racing! I'm not a really really really big fan of kart racing. Kart racing is not really such a fun thing for me. Just came here with the rest of the girls because they wanted to try it out! Well, the place is not disappointing at all. It has a nice atmosphere/aura which one will really like so that's a nice point for them. They also have a really great service, friendly guys and respectful as well and they are fun to talk with as well. We didnt pay much as well for the race, I think because the girls decided to get some promo or package so it was really nice! All in all, K1 Speed is such a nice place, I really don't have a problem with the place, the service, the value. I'm just not a fan of kart racing. Hopefully they can make me one and I'll go and edit my review then. read more
