If you're looking for exquisite Japanese sweets and impeccable service, you've found the perfect place. As someone originally from Tokyo, Japan, an associate professor of Chado Urasenke, a Vegan, I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants to indulge in an elegant, sweet experience or find a stunning, delicious gift for someone special. Every treat here is as beautiful as it is delicious!

One of my favorite Japanese sweet shops!

"Famous" Japanese sweet shop! Practically everything they made are beautiful and tasty. Of course, as expected, they are not cheap by any standard, even with the significant Japanese Yen depreciation. But sometimes we just need to treat ourselves because we deserve it!

High-end dagashi Japanese sweets with elegant, fancy packaging perfect for gifts. They also rotate some of their sweets based on the seasonal ingredients and holidays. I believe this is the only physical location of K. Minamoto in Southern California, though I could have sworn that I've seen some inside Mitsuwa unless I'm hallucinating. If you're not hankering for eating an entire box yourself or want to save some money and want to try some of their sweets, there are individual packaged servings that can easily be shared between 2 or even 3 people if you just want to take a bite (truly revealing how much of a poor man I am but a good FYI nonetheless!) We got the: 1) Fukuwatashi Senbei: -This is a vanilla cream and soybean cookie. -Easy to eat and a cookie that is "not to sweet" that any older Asian parent/grandparent/adult would appreciate. -Not too dry, a bit soft, but not overly so. A delicate vanilla cookie that is good on its own or pairs nicely with some tea. 2) Seasonal Marron Soymilk Pudding: -Another smooth dessert that also isn't too sweet. Marron is chestnut and the taste is very subtle, leaning more towards more of a soymilk flavor. -A slightly firmer pudding that holds its shape. Reminds me of the Vietnamese jelly dessert (thach). 3) Gozenguri: -This is a mochi soft rice cake with chestnut. -There's some crispy rice bits on the outside for some texture, the mocha is very soft, with very little chewy texture. -Decent amount of filling and once again, subtle chestnut flavor. -Out of the three this was the sweetest dessert item, so if you're actually eating the entire thing yourself, this would go great with tea. If you know someone who loves dagashi or would appreciate some fancy high end dessert, this is a great place to get a gift for them. They do have an online shop to order gift boxes and their other items from.

Customer service is below zero. We were never greeted. No one came to tell me what is what, since it was my first time. Products variety of products is very different, interesting and delicious. The packaging is a great gift potential. I grabbed two things from the displays and paid. Hope they are good for the person I gave them too.

OMG. I always walked by this place pre COVID when I was at the mall, but never bought anything. My friend gifted me this chocolate thing and it was AMAZING. I need to go and buy more. :) So yummy. It's like choco pie, but better! It looks like the snack that Doraemon eats, but darker. LOL I need to try their other yummy goods too. :)

This place has very tasty Japanese style sweets and treats. Love the store, it has a nice vibe and extra clean. Every item in packages are displayed inside the glass shelves. Employees are very friendly and helpful to explain the ingredients of each treats. Love the presentation of the displays. Only downside is they don't have anything for testing/trying the flavors. Bought simple rice cake and dairy free red bean mochi. Everything sounds yummy! My favorites are the dairy free option treats. If you like to snack, try this place at the Westfield's Century City Mall.

The first time that we visited K.Minamoto store is in San Francisco. They offer the high quality Japanese sweets. I am happy to see the have a store in West field Central City. I just love their package, it's so creative and pretty. Their store interior design and all decoration are very unique and beautiful. This time, we tried their White Peach Mochi and Green Tea Mochi. They both are good, it's even better if eat with tea or coffee. We will come back soon and try different sweets.

Pretty good selection of Japanese dessert goodies. Lots to choose from. Price is fair. Will definitely come back here again.

The most amazing mochi ! Like everything Japanese delivery is everything ! A beautiful box wrapped in origami like paper . When you buy it they ask if you wanted to be gift wrap . No we're going to eat it lol. So I assume it's a really great gift . Japanese custom whenever visiting someone's house always bring a gift. Please anytime you're coming to my house I'll gladly take a box of mochi from here !!! Five star mochi in Beverly Hills this is your spot !

It's always a good day when you spot a Minamoto Kitchoan. Tried these Japanese sweets (Wagashi) for the first time when I lived in NY. It was love at first bite. So delicate, flavorful, not overly sweet, and made with quality ingredients. While walking around Westfield Century City Mall, we came across Minamoto. Employees were friendly for the most part. Not the warmest at the beginning, but our goodies were wrapped up neatly. The store is neat and organized. They offer all sorts of Japanese confectioneries imported directly from Japan. I've always liked their packaging. Overall, this girl right here is a fan!

So pretty and so good, I totally recommend this to anyone who wants a little snack or something to buy for gifts. Staffs are very helpful if you have any questions or need help with what to get. The place is so nice and so clean.

This shop in swanky Century City has japanese treats in sweet and savory flavors. Similar to the ones in Little Tokyo at the edge of DTLA.

K.Minamoto is a small shop that offers japanese sweets. Located on the second level doors away from Macy's and across from Eataly. "MINAMOTO" as Origin of "WAGASHI". "KITCHO" meaning Signs of pleasure. "AN " meaning Places people gather...kitchoan means places of gather, very much like your home kitchen, a place you gather. It is said that in the past, the term"WAGASHI" (Japanese-style Confectionery) originated from the term "KASHI", which means fruits and nuts. Later on, in the Yayoi Era, Japanese-style confectionery transformed from a part of regular meal into luxurious food that was called "WAGASHI". K Minamoto has several international locations. While this shop has been here a couple years, I recently reacquainted myself with these addictive sweet treats and it's become my latest obsession among others... Over two years ago, I resided at the Ritz Carlton in DTLA and close to DTLA's japanese village, where one of the oldest japanese sweet treat shop, Fugetso-Do is. I love all the variety of mochi, jelly and other japanese treats and miss going there, but going to very urban DTLA during these troubled times was a deterrent. During my times in DTLA, I was often locked in due to street closures from marches, protests of crowds of people, who sometimes had a permit to protest and often times, no permit and just an excuse to cause chaos by congregating in the freeways blocking drivers and making traffic horrific. Those crowds would affect areas of City Hall and the Japanese village was close by and subject to road closures. While I miss my visits at all my past frequent spots I like, I don't miss the chaos and upheaval from the angry crowd. I'd make a greater difference and rather vote. Peace to their cause though. Currently, residing in a safer, heavily patrolled with public and private security in Beverly Hills and I am so delighted this shop, K.Minamoto in the Westfield shopping center located in Century City is less than 5 minutes away and I can satisfy my sweet tooth. Have frequently visited the last week and the lovely staff Mizuko was always friendly and helpful. She always wore a face covering and gloves and the shop is very clean and organized. She explained details of each confection with patience to very curious me, because I want to know the contents of what I'm eating. There are varieties of sweets, cakes, crackers offered boxed or some individually wrapped. I particularly like the mochi and jelly. Each tastes delicate, subtle flavors and not too sweet...which makes me crave more. Every time I come in to 'just look' I end up buying a boxful. My gym Equinox is steps away, and so don't want to spend more time working off these sweet calories, I limit myself to one treat as it's so addicting. Just when I think I have a fav flav, it changes to another flav. My furbabe Fendi absolutely loves all the mochi and jelly, but is only allowed 1 treat, which she practically inhales each piece, so cut a mochi into a few pieces for her to enjoy. These sweet treats are wonderful but $$$$ spendy and make a nice gift even if it's for yourself, because you are worth it! Recommend

During the holiday season, that kind of just passed, I could not escape IG reels that romanticized…read morethe power of hot chocolate. Apparently, it can be so rich and thick (European Style) that it is part healing warmth and the other part just wildly delicious. So I decided to go ahead and find a cup of thick, and rich cocoa to hit me with holiday splendor, the kind that can re-assemble Frosty after his final melt. My friend Conrad and I were the duo who ventured to ChocoVivo to try chocolate, on chocolate, on chocolate, with some water on the side. ChocoVivo is in Culver City. The place itself is on Washington Blvd amidst some bars, and eateries. This place lends itself to be a dessert spot, an experience for chocolate lovers and those who are not, and anyone who just wants to experience the taste of chocolate in-depth and in odd luxury. As soon, as I entered, I made a beeline for the counter. I was overwhelmed with all the chocolatey choices: pastries, drinks, squares, with the list continuing exhaustively, it even included a chocolate skull that might serve better as decoration than a treat. I excused myself and went to use the restroom, I dared not ask questions to understand my options, when my bladder was full. I might make rash decisions, due to my inability to focus. And with so many options in front of me, I wanted to sample what was right and balanced for me. I wanted to sample chocolate, I just did not just want to taste chocolate. My trip to the facilities was a small adventure in itself. I passed a room with a man working on his laptop. But the room, seemed to be, like a Sultan's rest-room. It had pillows, hanging lamps, and a cream like colored that reminded me of sun-kissed sand. I clipped the room. There is a Minion (from Illumination fame) chilling in one of the couches. Another picture shows, a fishing net (maybe) with make-shift clouds pouring out of it, also leafs and butterflies. It seemed to be the remains of a shipwreck but it also held decorations that could have made the space more beautiful. I believe, and I could be wrong, of course, that this room used to be functional. A place to lounge, and see beauty, while enjoying chocolate. Now it was a forgotten room, whose purpose never fulfilled, and thus had stuff scattered around. I am sure, everyone can relate to that feeling, of getting stuff for an imagined room that never quite materializes and thus the room becomes storage, more than anything. Kondo deliver us! After, I came to the cashier, I ordered a hot chocolate. Conrad made a point, that the hot chocolate I ordered was not the European sipping hot chocolate that I had talked about on our car ride there. He then. made a point, that I should read a menu and then ask questions. I ask questions, as I read the menu. I eventually, ordered two hot chocolates, (one for him and one for me) and then we sampled 12 chocolate squares--- a sampler. The total was close to 60.00 dollars so this is an experience that is not going to the local mart and buying a Hershey's bar. The 12 chocolate samples were just great and enough, there were bigger samples, which I considered buying, but the price deterred me. The one that I got was super appropriate for both of us, by the end I was enjoying slightly by force, I mustered the strength to finish the half marathon. The full marathon would have tapped me out. The samples came with a card. Conrad was the one who was consulting the card, so we could not what chocolate we ate. It was truly fun, to be with someone who read of the information of the card, and then we tried to identify the taste as the card described. I wish I would have taken a picture of the card, but honestly, I am more of a determine by taste taster than a person who wants to be informed of what he is tasting, to know what he is tasting. I do remember the worst tasting chocolate we tasted--- it had black tea infused into it, I do not remember its cacao percentage, each chocolate had a cacao percentage. The hire the percentage, the sweeter the chocolate. The black tea had this earthy and tea taste that was profound. I guess imagine tasting. a black tea without sugar that is kind of the taste I struggled with. I am glad I tasted this chocolate, however, because it was part of the whole experience. I did not drive to the beach and endure a pothole, I drove to the beach and was both intrigued and jolted by the bounce that the pothole produced. Some chocolates I really enjoyed, the hot chocolate was goodness in a cup. The chocolate sampler also came with an espresso that was split into two cups. I was provided a knife to cut each chocolate. I put the knife in the center with one arm, and use the other hand to pierce the chocolate. My halfs were not perfect. Sometimes Conrad got the bigger half square, sometimes I did. I annotate all this so one knows that when you visit ChocoVivo you will need to work, if you want to split those chocolates, but the work was part of the fun!

We marched from Target, beelined to the right towards Bloomingdale's, GameStop's just right before Bloomie's - grabbed the game, and bolted--because let's be honest, video games especially the latest of the latest version + the special pack features already cost an arm, a leg, and possibly a kidney. But fate (and sugar) had other plans. On our way back to the main drag, we locked eyes with Läderach. The glass cases were glistening. The chocolates were posing. I casually said, "Let's just taste." Famous. Last. Words. Fast forward $70 later, we walked out proudly cradling a 1-lb slab of FrischSchoggi--a chocolate hazelnut masterpiece so decadent it should come with a warning label. Rich, creamy, crunchy, sinful... basically chocolate that whispers, "You deserve this." The staff? Super friendly and dangerously encouraging. The store? Small, bright, beautifully merchandised--minimalist Swiss luxury vibes. The chocolates? Divinely indulgent. It instantly transported me back to Europe, standing outside Lindt, watching chocolatiers scrape, spread, and turn molten chocolate like it's edible art. Läderach delivers that same magic--except now I'm the one eating it instead of just staring longingly through a window. We thought GameStop was the financial threat... turns out Läderach is the real boss level LOL. But honestly? Worth it. Every. Single. Dollar. Come for the "just a taste."
