Best Mexican food in the area by far. Authentic and delicious. Staff is great, and the decor is nice and cozy.

Shareable classic margarita.

Food, service, and ambiance were up to par with what a 5 star restaurant should be. Please give this spot a try. It will not disappoint.

Another great experience! I've said it before, but I'll have to say it again. Everything we tried was SALTY! And everyone at our table seemed to say the same thing. Other than that, I love it! They have two options of salsa, one mild and one medium with great tortilla chips as you sit down. On a Friday night, we had to wait about 45 minutes because it was absolutely packed! But our server did her best and treated us well. **Tip for vegetable lovers** They have a great mix of vegetables I only saw in their vegetable quesadilla, fajitas, burrito, and enchiladas. So I just ask for one of those and they can add chicken for $2! Definitely gives some nice variety to the heaviness that a huge Mexican plate can sometimes be!

Amazing real mexican food in olathe. Prices are very fair and service was good. The salsas are fresh authentic and the spicy is fire. Absolutely the best sit down mexican I've had in Kc area since moving back from CA. I still have a few on my list to check out though but id be fine making this place my mexican spot

It's been awhile since I've been to K-Macho's and my first time to this location. Upon entering we stood at the hostess counter for five minutes before a hostess came, who answered the phone before acknowledging us. When she did, though, it was with a pleasant smile. She sat us at a booth and chips and salsa arrived quickly. Our server however, seemed like she really didn't want to be there. While she was pleasant, she wasn't really friendly. She asked what we wanted to drink and we all asked for water and my wife said she wanted to look at the drink menu and decide what margarita she wanted. Our server brought our water, set the glasses down and walked away without a word. She returned 7 minutes later to take our drink orders. She brought our margaritas and we ordered our food which arrived within 15 minutes. We didn't see her again until we had finished our meal and she dropped off our bill, again without a word. When she returned a few minutes later to collect , I told her we would like dessert. She took our order and picked up the premature bill. With dessert she dropped off the amended bill, and I paid. I gave this K Macho's 4 stars for the quality of their food. My Shrimp enchiladas were delicious, the Fajita taco al carbon wasn't as good, but still not bad. Interesting that it was rolled and not folded like other tacos, but maybe I didn't read the description fully. Maybe al Carbon means "rolled" . I'm sure the service isn't always lacking as I noted other servers paying more attention to their guests.

I started with the jalapeño margarita, but honestly downed it before I even remembered to take a photo. My second was easily my favorite: their masterfully crafted Mango Margarita which felt like a fiesta going down. For dinner, I ordered the Combo #4 (tamale, pork burrito, and crispy beef taco). They were kind enough to swap in a deep-fried taco for free, and since I'm a habitual chip-dipper, I happily doubled down on the refried beans to satiate my dipping cravings. One friend had the skirt steak and raved about how tender it was and how nicely it was plated. I was able to get a quick pic before it disappeared from his plate! One small quirk: they don't keep salt and pepper on the tables, so you'll need to ask for them. Our server also seemed a little eager to rush us out the door even though the restaurant wasn't very busy.(we weren't having any of that and me especially after two margaritas, haha), but overall, great food and standout margaritas make this an easy spot to revisit!

My two enchiladas combo ($12.49) included good portions of rice and beans. It was served just six minutes after I ordered at the counter. Usually, that would give me time to dig into complimentary chips and salsa, but the complimentary tortilla chips warmer was empty. Ugh! However, they did offer a complimentary salsa bar with five salsas with various heat levels to add to my entrée - nice! My meal offered plenty of moist, shredded chicken, creamy, refried beans and moist, tasty rice. The service at the counter was helpful and cheerful with two order kiosks also available. I found the dining area to be clean and nice with booths, two TVs (off) and lively Mexican music coming from the kitchen. They also offer a drive-thru. Overall, I'm thinking 3.5 stars (no chips - ugh!) and rounding up for the good value.

And I don't make multiple return visits to restaurants where I don't enjoy the food and the service. The restaurant is tucked away down what appears to be an industrial street where you wouldn't expect to find a sit-down restaurant. Because of this you won't accidentally discover it while you're out on a Saturday afternoon drive. I'm certain the location hurts their business as it has other failed restaurants that have occupied the same space in the past. But if you go to the trouble of finding it, you'll be happy you did. There are a few "Mexican" restaurants in this area of town, but this is a "Tex-Mex" restaurant, which I prefer. I won't go into describing each individual item on the menu, I'll just say the food is solid Tex-Mex. I lived in Houston and San Antonio for a total of 10 years, so I know what Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like. Chapala could definitely hold their own in South Texas. I think you should give it a try.

While many items were ok and overall portion sizes were good, it lacked seasoning, especially the quesadilla. It was simply a tortilla with an underwhelming amount of cheese. Didn't even taste like the tortilla was heated up with any butter. Very bland. The tacos we ordered were ok but the shells reminded me of that from a Taco Bell taco kit almost. Sadly a soft option or corn option was not offered to us. Even though we dined around 1230, the restaurant was empty. Only one other table was occupied with guests. The hostess was even eating while working which didn't make for a very welcoming ambiance.

Inside, the space is airy and vibrant with great acoustics and a chill little bar area that sets the perfect casual vibe. We started strong with the drinks. My friend went with the house margarita while I opted for the spicy pineapple jalapeño. Both were so incredibly good that skipping a second round wasn't even an option--we doubled up! Our server was wonderfully patient and attentive, gracefully making a few extra trips to our table while we hopelessly debated what to order. I finally settled on the Pollo Relleno, which came loaded with Mexican rice, refried beans, and a taco. My friend grabbed the tres crispy tacos paired with charro beans. When the plates arrived, the presentation was a little messy--but what it lacked in looks, it more than made up for in flavor. Excellent drinks, solid comfort food, and great service. We'll definitely be back!

First, immediate bonus points for giving everyone their own salsa dish. No rationing salsa at this table! Although, the spicy salsa will cost you an extra $1.99. We tried Los Tres Tacos with two beef and one chicken, the quesabirria, and the Periban Avocado. Everything was very good. The flavors weren't quite as bold and in-your-face as I usually like my Mexican food, but it was consistently solid across the board. The charro beans and refried beans were especially delicious. My biggest complaint? Everything came out just barely warm. Not cold, but definitely not hot, and I think that made a BIG difference. Had everything arrived piping hot, this meal could have gone from "very good" to "exceptional." Overall, good food, cute spot, individual salsa bowls, and plenty worth coming back for. Next time, just bring the heat... literally.
