I started this review in 2015, a year after my wedding, in order to properly allow any negative emotional feelings from the wedding subside and also to properly assess this company's services. It's now 2017, almost 3 years after my wedding and I'm finally publishing this review. My wife and I hired K&S for our wedding and selected the platinum package, basically so someone could hold our hands throughout the entire process + D.O.C. We had a short timeline, engaged in March with a targeted wedding date in December the same year. In regards to planning, Kym was spot on. Scheduling visits with the flower vendor, negotiating terms with the caterer, and also coordination tasks at the Nixon Library. She's good about telling you what options can be expensive, price ranges for vendors, and creative ideas within a certain budget framework. One minor annoyance was that every meeting she would spend a couple hours with us discussing, writing notes and follow-ups, but then go MIA. The next meeting would require a refresher (like she forgot key details), or we'd be proactive and send out an email or text asking about the status. This problem became so widespread (i.e. she will tell you she'll follow up in 3 days but then go a week with no response), that I had to send an email to her and her partner that they were upsetting the bride. My wife and I prepared everything in advance of the wedding so that Kym's team could setup the day-of. We packaged and organized everything in bags with labels and directions. Signs were installed in photo frames, name cards were bagged alphabetically, and layout was discussed all in advance. We arrive into the reception area the day-of only to find nothing was setup the way my wife asked. She was just so frustrated. The money/card box wasn't put where we asked, which involved a lot of guests coming to ask us what to do. It's almost as if the assistants and other team members didn't know what to do or didn't bother checking with Kym for instructions. This was apparent because the following happened -see below. And finally, the biggest debacle of the night. We had an agreement with the vendor that the consumption bar was to turn into an open bar once the limited was reached. Kym actually helped us with this during the negotiations. One of Kym's assistants for one reason or another got confused and told the caterer to turn the consumption bar into a cash bar. Kym apparently had no idea (not sure how the assistant came to make the decision). No one thought to come notify or ask us. Embarrassingly, our guests had to shell out cash for drinks sometime between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. We didn't find out until we visited the bar personally around 9:30 pm, ordered drinks and was asked to pay -imagine our surprise. The caterer apologized, Kym said "this is my fault", accepting responsibility, but the damage was done. My view here is that the wedding coordinator is at fault in this situation as she holds the responsibility to speak on behalf of the bride/groom (or at least check-in with them before making such a decision). And since when does an assistant make a decision like this without checking in with her boss?! Also, Kym was the one that negotiated the catering contract for us, not sure how her team could seriously make such a huge error. One key point to make here, the caterer went out of their way a few days AFTER the wedding to make amends (despite their assertion that they only listened to the K&S team). They offered to treat us to an anniversary dinner and a few comps at their local restaurant. As for K&S? Well they were gone with the wind after that last cash payment made at the wedding. It still leaves a bad feeling in my stomach to this day. read more

I HIGHLY recommend K &S Events for all the future brides!! Kym was my day-of coordinator but helped me throughout my planning process. She was very easy to get a hold of anytime of they day, she will make time to answer all your questions and make sure you are on the right track. She helped me with my lighting and got me the best possible deal, the lighting company was a mess but she ensured me she would be on top of them and helped me get the exact Gobo light that I wanted and tested it out for me to make sure all the words were clear. She also helped me out big time with my timeline, and kept me on track the day of, without her, I don't know what I would've done. She's very prompt and organized, she made sure my wedding reception looked beautiful. My only regret is that I didn't have her help me with the entire wedding, wish I had her deal with some of my crazy vendors for me before hand. She really came through on my big day and knowing that she was taking care of everything I was able to feel less stressed and enjoyed my ceremony. I highly recommend Kym from K & S Events to coordinate your wedding day!!! I hired Kym as my DOC and she and her team did such an amazing job on my big wedding day! When I first met her, she was sooooo helpful and had so many great recommendations for me. Not knowing that she coordinates wedding, I had to ask her if she was willing to help me with mine. I was super ecstatic that I was able to hire her since I knew her knowledge and her level of professionalism won me over the moment I met her. She also had a lot if great vendors that I used myself! Kym was my go to coordinator when I needed suggestions, help and support! Kym made sure she understood my vision and was able to deliver my day flawlessly. My day consists of tea ceremony which Kym assisted with the processional lines and the dowry gift settings, the traditional ceremony & setting up the reception for 500 guests and the candy Buffett.( which was a very long day for her and her team) I was able to entrust my vision & expectations and never for a single moment I was worried about anything because I knew I was in good hands! Let me start off by telling you what I didn't want as part of my wedding day. I didn't want: people calling me with directions, people asking me questions, people adding to my stress level, venders calling with problems, or anything else that would lead to a high stress point on that day- My Day. I wanted to truly experience each moment as they were occurring- knowing this is once in a lifetime. I wanted to savor everything... and I was able to, with Kym. She handled everything wonderfully and with poise. She knew what was important to me- that I remain blissfully unaware of little unimportant hiccups during the day- and she supported me every step of the way. She added little details to help in the flow of the wedding, like planning the walking down the aisle- she added little (but CRUCIAL) pauses so the photogs can get a good picture. She was there to remind me to cut the cake, change my dress (3 times!) and even let me know when I can switch into my flip flops, because my dress hits the floor and no one will be the wiser. On Your Big Day, you will want someone whose shoulder you'll lean on- an instant bff. For that, Kymmie is your girl. * It's next to impossible to phase this woman. read more

As a young girl, I have always dreamed about what my wedding would be like to the last detail. I'm filipino, so I knew my wedding would be HUGE (that's just how we roll) but to actually execute on the day of, I knew it would take a special someone and team to make it all a reality. Here comes Kym and her crew of awesome who just worked their magic and ran the show. Kym and her team are experts at handling HUGE productions - seriously, I had over 300 guests (over half from out of town) and these ladies made everything run smoothly. From getting in touch with the vendors, to contacting the members of the bridal party, to getting our florists in check - these girls made everything so effortless and easy for me. Oh wow... Looks like I get to be the first person to write a review about this!!! I can personally say I've been to one of the events planned by these people, specifically Kym, and it was a great wedding. The wedding was planned at the Marriot Hotel in Anaheim. The wedding was filled with about 300 guests and it was lit colorfully. I believe the colors theme for the wedding was gold and purple. Needless to say it was a wonderful wedding, one I won't forget. I became engaged in September 2012 and,in order to accommodate family members that would be in town for the holidays, my fiance and I chose a December 2012 wedding date. We are both very organized and detail-oriented, but we quickly realized we were in over our heads and needed help in order to plan a fabulous wedding in three short months. Thankfully, Kym and K & S Events came to the rescue! In all honesty, Kym should change her name to Superwoman because there was no detail (big or small) that she couldn't handle! I was in awe of the number of "connections" she has! Every single vendor that she recommended did a perfect job on our wedding day and the rates that she negotiated with each vendor were very reasonable. Kym quickly had contracts drawn by our DJ, lighting coordinator, photo booth vendor, cake bakery, and make-up artist, just to name a few. When our wedding day came, I felt completely prepared because I knew that Kym and her sister, Susan, were at the helm! During all 12 hours of the big day, they effectively managed every detail. They staged and organized our photographs, including the "first look" photo in which the location had to be changed at the last minute due to rain. Later, at the reception while my husband and I were taking welcoming photos with each of the 275 guests, they instructed the reception staff and bridal party. I hired Kym as the wedding coordinator for my day of. At first, I did not think I needed a coordinator at all, but after the actual wedding I am so thankful that I did have one. Kym and her crew were very helpful and set up everything the way I wanted for the wedding ceremony and reception. Everything went so smooth without any major problems. I've been a bridesmaid/maid-of-honor so many times that it'll take me a while to count all of them...so I've seen plenty of wedding coordinators....some mean ones, expensive ones, and even lazy ones (hmmm, didn't the bride hire you to do the job, not to boss the bridal party around to do your job ?). btw, if you are having your wedding at the trump golf course don't use their coordinators...they have a few i think, but there was this one particular bad apple, a nasty lady name linda! Okay -- back to K & S events, Kim was the wedding coordinator for my h.s. friend's wedding ~ I was a bridesmaid, but wanted to give Kim kudos for doing a good job... the flowers for both the bride and groom's families, the boutineers were delivered to the bride's house, but they were the wrong color, in fact they were the color white...white flowers at a traditional Chinese wedding is a big no-no. There was no time to complain and have the flower shop to redo and deliver ~ tea ceremony is time sensitive and can't wait for another batch of flowers...so Kim busts out a spray can (pink color) and asked if it was ok for her to spray the flowers. She save the day!!!....and the bride's parents never knew that the flowers were originally white. She was also there to fix some bloopers throughout the day like technical problems with the slide show and guests that were hogging up seats there were reserved later that evening during the reception. Small to big mishaps that need fixing....if you don't want to worry about it especially for big days like your wedding...definitely worth it to have an experience, enthusiastic & hard working person like Kim! read more

It is time to acknowledge the K & S Events and Kim in particular. I've met Kim at a wedding party where me and my girlfriend were attending as guests. I happened to be a witness of very well structured and organized wedding and to meet Kim as the responsible party. I spoke to her and she blazed an idea that hit me few month after ... well, I can plan a surprise birthday party baby showers etc stuff that seems to be an issue for me at times. Not making excuses to hire her because I am too busy at work or what not but it was a great idea to give her a ring and see what she can offer to me for a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend. Back and forth, in less than a week via email, she thrown at least 10 ideas at me and I was able to pin point what I would like from all of these. To make it a bit shorter I would mention that I picked a balloon ride and a surprise dinner at an awesome restaurant in Pasadena. I was very pleased with the creative ideas she had for me and the fact, that she was always following up with me and checking if I had any questions. She also did organize and coordinate all my gf's friends to come to the surprise dinner after the ride. I just forwarded her a list of her friends from previous evite event and from there she made sure to coordinate everything. At the end everything was as planned and we had awesome time and one unforgettable event for my loved one and all her friends. I will look no further if I need a simple advice for a surprise or a future wedding. As far as her compensation if someone is curious, we worked on a set budget, so I guess it really depends what you ask for but price is not a subject when you get more than what you ever wished ;) Thank you Kim and keep up the good job. I WISH I COULD LEAVE MORE THEN 5 STARS. I used K&S Events to help plan my 40th birthday party. I am a bit of a control freak and knew exactly what I wanted but needed help with the execution and the dealings with the day of the event, since I wanted to enjoy my own party. From the second I talked to Kym on the phone setting up our first appointment, I could tell she was listening. We met 2 days later. I could tell she understood EXACTLY how I wanted the party to feel. I hired her that day and it was by far the best decision that I ever made. We went through all the things I wanted and made a plan of attack. Kym was there every step of the way to make sure it all got done. Every vendor that she recommended was top notch and acted like my party was the most important job that they had. Kym went above and beyond with every decision or situation that I may have needed help with. A few days before my event we met at my house and went over every single detail of how the night was going to plan out. Remember I said I was a control freak.... I asked Kym for a timeline for the party. SHE TOLD ME NO! She told me "I want you to enjoy your party, We planned the event together but now it is my job to deal with everything!" I was shocked to say the least but this is EXACTLY what I hired her to do! The day of the party I was expecting phone calls and questions. Kym did call me, but to check on me. To see if I was relaxing and resting up for the long night ahead. NO QUESTIONS! NO PROBLEMS! NO SITUATIONS! She dealt with the vendors, the set up of the room everything! She did not let me see the room until everything was set up and beautiful. This was a big party so some of my guests were ready to get in the room but she wouldn't open that room until she did a private reveal for me and my husband. Once again a great touch because I got to soak in the beauty of all our hard work because as soon as those doors opened the rest of the night was a blur. Kym had her staff of 5 in place and ready to go. And the entire night her or her staff was there to make sure we enjoyed our night. WE DID. The night couldn't have been any better including her having set up little surprises for my night. A great heartfelt speech to me from my husband. Which he wouldn't have thought of on his own. And having a dance number with classy ladies dancing around him. I know I wouldn't have thought of that! Her and her staff worked till the wee hours of the night, long after I went to bed. The saddest thing about the party being over was not dealing with Kym anymore on a daily basis. I am now looking for reasons to throw another huge party to be able to work with Kym again. read more

I cannot rave enough about K&S Events. We hired them to decorate and coordinate my baby shower. Kym and her team did an amazing job both decorating and coordinating the event. The baby shower was held at my house and we were expecting close to 80 guest and I was freaking out about how we were going to manage and attend to all these guest. Kym and her team took over and made everything go smoothly. The surprising factor, we're Indians and we have no idea what "on time" means but somehow my entire event took place in a timely manner including the ceremony, games, lunch, pics, etc. Anyway, I would highly recommend K&S Events for any kind of event you may be planning on hosting because I would definitely work with her again. read more
