I booked my first appointment with Lily @K&J nail salon in brick township NJ and I was really late showing up, but she still took me as soon as I got there and I kept showing her photos of how I wanted my nails to look, and Lily, "nailed it". She's sweet and she's open to suggestions and I absolutely love the way my nails came out!! Love. I didn't want to even have to change them again but I think I have to make an appointment for a fill-in soon. But I'm so truly happy with Lily's work and I will be going back ASAP. Thank you Lily! (P.S.- I think "Lily" is such a cool name!!) read more

K&J Nails. I do not recommend this salon for several reasons. 1. You cannot make an appointment for a regular manicure with the person of your choice! So either you run in every day to see if you can get an appointment with your person or just let it go. If I get a gel pedicure every week then I can get the nail appointment I don't know anyone who gets a pedicure every week particularly a gel one 2. Tips must be paid in cash. You cannot put a tip on a debit card or credit card. Inconvenient. 3. Very fast turnover of employees. David happens to do the very best pedicure and manicure of anybody around here. It's too bad. I can't continue to have him do my manicures. read more

I don't know what the nail techs name was but she did a horrible job on my nails. I tried to ask multiple times for her to fix the way she filed them and it kept getting worse. The nails are uneven, different sizes and look like a child did them. I used to frequent this salon a year ago but all the good techs are gone. Truly disappointed and won't go back. read more

This place absolutely destroyed my nails and then told me it was my fault for getting powder instead of buildable gel. Meanwhile every other place I have ever been to encourages powder because they can soak it off instead of filing down my real nails to get it off. They said "soaking takes too much time so we don't do that" I said even if it is healthier for the nail and they responded "even if it will help your nails were too busy for that." Then he told me he will not be putting powder dip on my nails even though that is what I wanted and he put gel on my nails and they all broke and peeled off within 1 week. read more

I went here and I had the worst experience ever. To start off David did not say one word to me until it came to my pedicure, I was talking to my husband about making pizzas for dinner and David turns with my foot shaving's and said "do you need cheese?". I felt insulted, ashamed and I would not recommend this place. read more

They were not helpful, told me go pick a color from the stack of boards labeled "gel". the pedicure itselfr was painful, the technician cut most of the skin around my toes, the nails were uneven and didn't paint the edges of the nail. When others came in, they showed where to choose a color and interacted with them. read more

awful. my very simple ombre nail was "too complex" they told me to come back and fix their errors on my dime and had an attitude and hung up on me. absolutely a waste. read more

First time here, easy to make an appt. Got right in. Love the nails and how they came about. Ombré coffin nails gel. Very nice. 60$ for full set. However, no lotion no cleaning no cutting around the nails none of that they just kind of got right to it. No cutting the cuticles. The lady was just fast and 45 minutes and it looks like they are already lifting. read more

, Awful service. I had a gel Pedicure done, as I always do, I got the cat eye polish applied, as I always do, and was surprised with an up charge of 5$. No artwork, just regular gel polish.. No notation/sign/disclosure anywhere in the salon of this up-charge. Discussed with owner/manager at front desk whom was very rude, embarrassing and kept calling me "missie" infront of all the other customers. Be forewarned you may be up-charged AFTER your service, with out notification. Not worth it. read more

Even though they have a ton of sample colors up front, they don't actually stock all the colors. Ultimately after being told they were out of the first 8 red colors I selected, I settled for something I didn't want. What was really upsetting is when I asked to talk to the owner/manager - he said it wasn't his fault and blamed his employees for lack of stock. I can't stand when a manager blames employees in public - shows poor character. read more

In 24 hours I had gel polish lift on 4 of my nails and ruin my clothes. After fixing theres still green residue underneath the new color. They couldn't accommodate my scheduled appointment time to fix. Removal of the green gel stained my sweater sleeve (and the clothes of the attendant who fixed them) When I asked they would still not refund my service completed literally 24 hours ago. I will never return here and wouldn't recommend trying them. read more

vibe is beautiful. service was such a nightmare. came in a a treat from a friend. the first tech berated me for having hard gel (poly gel/Russian manicure) and claimed the nail drill machine doesn't work on removing it. nonsense--I have one at home and other salons all use theirs to remove it. she insisted that I peel/pull off the gel even though I showed her how my natural nail was coming off. second finger the nail came off so bad that tit split down into the nail bed and I was yelled at in "angry Asian fashion" by tech saying I was too sensitive. I went to manager who had attitude but at least put me with someone else and he said I should cover the split in nailed to help it grow out. they talk out of both sides of their mouths-- kept saying how bad the hard/Russian/poly gel was but the tech he put me with had hard/russian/poly gel on her own nails. they tried gaslighting me on the color I chose--switching it for another color that was already out. I've never been so verbally abused and gaslit at a place. there was a nice male tech who tried to help. I'd only recommend going to him. Ialth the atmosphere physically is clean and calm, there are so many other places that offer a full line of manicures including knowl and patience in removing different gels, I would only bother with this if you're getting a very basic manicure. I'm appalled these supposedly licensed techs harmed me --it is so painful see photos--and will take some time to recover from and had the nerve to charge my friend full price for the harm and insult and abuse they dished out. not a healthy place. I do NOT recommend. read more

I have been going to K and J for almost 3 years and unfortunately will not be going back. After I worked up the courage to go back in and tell Billy I was truly unhappy with my nails (something I HATE to do), he told me I got exactly what I asked for. I have been getting the same shape and length for years and never have they looked this awful. Rather than offering a solution, he told me thats what happens when you want your nails shorter in length. Very disappointing. read more

I've had my nails done here twice. The first time, the woman that did my nails was not very nice and the job she did was less than adequate. I didn't go back for a long time and then I thought I'd try it again and get just a pedicure. The girl who did my pedi was a very nice person but the job she did looked like a 5 yr old did it. I'm not kidding. All my toe nails were different lengths and the polics was not applied well at all. I wondered if maybe she couldn't see?? I don't know but I'm done with this place. read more

Worst experience I've ever had- from the attitude, to the bleeding , the shape of the nails, and the complete unapologetic attitude towards making a customer bleed, no discount no apologies. I asked for a soft pink- in the entire salon she couldn't or wouldn't find a soft pink then making it my fault for wanting a soft pink!?? Just a huge mistake going there. I'm gonna have to file these myself at home to get them to a normal look. By the end I just wanted to get out of there. read more

I was overdue for a good pedicure and K&J Nails delivered! I was in town visiting family, didn't have an established salon and made my appointment same day. K&J Nails did an excellent job, and I'll definitely be making it a habit to stop in when I'm in town visiting again. Highly recommend read more

Well I decided to come try this place based off local recommendations but unfortunately didn't even have the chance. Both the website and front door advertise this place as open but no one ever showed up. I was outside for 45 minutes as I have an event this week and needed my nails done. Luckily the shop owner next door informed me that they are never open on Sunday. They should definitely update the website or the actual signs they have in the store to avoid confusion and wasting customers times. Bad first impression. There was about 3-4 other customers who came the same time as me and winded up leaving. They lost a lot of business today. read more

I called to make an appointment and asked if they did S&S powder . The lady said yes ! I went in I got a pedicure and than proceeded to do my nails. A total disaster!!!!!! the lady did not know how to do the service I asked for . my nails were uneven and simply horrible .When I tried to explain the situation to Vyvy at the front desk she was nasty and unprofessional! Her exact words were " I don't know what to tell you, I'm trying to ring you up to get you out of here sooner " read more

so disappointed. the place is beautiful, but on my first visit, I chose to have an upgraded pedicure and gel nails The technician who did the pedicure was rude, pointing out small deformities in my foot from arthritis, enough that other patrons could hear Then toward the end, she rushed me out because she had a walk-in and she passed me off to another technician for my nails That technician did not do a good job at all Too many flaws to list I was looking for an upscale salon and was willing to pay the price, but this was not an upscale experience at all read more

Me , my daughter and my friend went for mani pedis and sadly not one of us were happy with the end result. My daughter asked that they just shape her long nails she wanted the length even if they were slightly uneven but he just disregarded her request and chopped them all down. My friend picked a tiger eye polish (costs extra) and only one nail looks slightly like what it's supposed to look like. I got a pedicure and the next day my toe polish started peeling. My friend tried nicely mentioning she was not too happy with her nails and he just acted like he didn't understand. waste of time and money. read more

**UPDATE it's now been a full month since I've had my gel fill and aside from being sooo long, they only showed the first sign of wear TODAY! Once health officials think it's safe for us to reopen non-essential businesses I'll be making my appointment to go back & support such an awesome staff & business.** First off, I'll start with the basics. After a decade of bouncing between nail salons, I can happily say that I have been exclusively coming to K& J for well over a year now. I'll NEVER go anywhere else! They are so clean, so kind, and so affordable! At least one or two people greet you as you walk in, so no more walking in awkwardly waiting for someone to acknowledge your presence. I've always hated in other salons when it seems like all the techs are talking about you, not here!! They really care about you being comfortable and making sure you're having a wonderful guest experience. Worried about wait times? Don't! Everyone at K & J is trained to quote you appropriate wait times if you're a walk-in so you don't sit there for an hour thinking you'll be seen "in 20 minutes." My advice? Make an appointment. Even if you call the morning of to make it. They keep to their schedule and truly appreciate you helping them keep it on track with appointments. I have had to walk in on a few occasions when I've forgotten to call ahead and they were very accommodating but I knew it would've helped to have an appointment. I don't even request any particular tech anymore because everyone that has done my nails in the last 12-18 months has done a beautiful job. Quality? THE BEST! I got my nails gel filled on March 14th and aside from being over grown, they've survived Quarantine 2020 and extreme hand washing/dish washing/home deep cleaning without so much as a chip, a lift, or a crack. 3 weeks out and they're not even looking like they'll lift any time soon. I have pushed fills as far as a month if needed and they still look nearly pristine when I go back. Do yourself the favor and see for yourself how wonderful they are! read more

My daughter got a pedicure there and the technician dug into her foot that it caused a major infection in 3 of her toes. They had to cut her toes open and drain the infection. As per the foot doctor this was because the instruments they used were not sterilized. They had bacteria from other people. It's a shame but if she didn't go to a foot doctor she could have lost her toes . That's how bad the infection was. read more

Definitely a good place to go But... you need the right nail tech. I've been going here for at least 6 years or more they have done plenty of upgrades through the years. The place is very pretty and visually clean. Unfortunately I had to put four stars from my experience today both my mom and I got two full sets mine being acrylic hers being gel. My mom had Lily and she's absolutely amazing every time highly recommend her! I didn't catch the name of the tech I had (table #5) but when I arrived for my appointment (billy) told me to pick a color and as I was trying the tech directed me to his table and took the colors I was looking at out of my hand and handed me different ones that I didn't like and I didn't get to pick a color until i was ready for polish ... On the note of shape I got round nails instead of square with soft corners I showed him a reference photo twice...anyway I don't recommend the tech in #5 but I do recommend. Billy, Nicole, and Lilly they usually are very gentle and polite plus they listen to what you have to say and use photos that u show them as reference! Overall a great place as long as you have the right tech! Update: receipt says table #5 is Henry read more

Such a poor experience for so many reasons- 1) we were rushed, felt like a "soup nazi" experience- it was not relaxing and did not feel like self care, 2) their nail polish is some random brand I never heard of before, and sure enough, IT CHIPPED LESS THAN 24 hrs afterwards- among other reasons- very poor experience and don't recommend read more

Really enjoyed this salon . Very clean and super accommodating they have . Had a mani/ pedi and it was great :)

Really like this location always clean and friendly. The men know what they're doing there the women know what they're doing they're all the nail techs are perfect. I've been going from us a year I wouldn't go anywhere else every time I go somewhere else I'm just not please. I like the nail techs that sit at seats 1,6,9. They always fix any issues if it comes out bad or if they don't like it they'll take it upon themselves to take care of it! read more

I am so upset with how my nails came out. First time I came to this salon I was set up with a new lady who did an amazing job she sat in the 3rd seat. I called to make an appointment with the same lady when I get there she's taking someone else and a different person did my nails. My nails are uneven and extremely thick. I take getting my nails done as a luxurious thing and to pay the money for them not to come out the way you expected is very upsetting. I am now stuck with uneven thumbs for 3 weeks because I refuse to go somewhere else pay the money all over again to get them re done. read more

I decided to give this salon a try after several people suggested it on fb. The owner Billy was very nice and pleasant when I called to schedule an appt with Lilly. I usually get a gel manicure with nail art. I felt Lilly was rushing through my nails. She quickly suggested I get the gel overlay and seemed annoyed that I just wanted a gel manicure. When I asked her for one extra base coat she said so you want it thick and I said no just an extra thin layer of the base, she repeated you should get the gel overlay. 2 days later I had to return to the salon bc she made the gel polish so thick that it lifted on one of my nails. I've been getting gel manicures for over 10 years and I've never had that issue. She didn't even "fix" my nail the correct way. She instead clipped off the piece of my real nail that had come apart from the gel and applied crazy glue on the bottom of my nail. I was so frustrated and disappointed. I won't be returning. It seems impossible to find someone who actually takes pride in their work and listens to what service you actually want! read more
