I want to say Design Time and Tile is a wonderful place to buy Flooring. This company did flooring…read morein 2 of my homes. I would like to say that Leslie O. Her review is questionable. I know that it was me that took Nancy T. To 3 different flooring places in the Redding area. I was with Nancy T. When the sales people helped us. We looked at many floors. We were there on two different occasions. Nancy was very happy about the flooring she picked out. I was also there at Nancy's home when the 2 men came and installed her flooring. I could see Nancy had very large deep cracks in her cement floor after the carpet was removed. The men spent a few days repairing her floors then putting down moisture barrier down on the floor, I ask the installer what he was doing and he explained it to me. All the people, in the store and the installers were very nice and respectful. I will always go back to Design Time and Tile to have my flooring bought and installed there. I down understand why Nancy T. Said anything negative about this business. After they were done installing her floors she was so happy, the floor looked beautiful. Kathy K.

I cannot say enough about how amazing it was working with Kevin at Design Time & Tile. I was…read moreremodeling and needed both quartzite slabs and tile, and honestly, I was feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Kevin spent literal hours helping me choose tiles that coordinated beautifully and fit the overall design. I made my tile selections late in the process and wasn't sure they'd even arrive in time--but somehow, he managed to get everything in record time. The pricing was more than fair, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Finding the perfect Taj Mahal quartzite slabs turned into a bit of an adventure, and through it all, Kevin was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind--not to mention fun to work with. From start to finish, this was one of my favorite parts of the entire remodel. Working with Kevin transformed what could have been a stressful experience into something enjoyable. I can't thank him enough for his help bringing everything together. You've earned a customer for life--thank you, Kevin!

Five days before our due date, we discovered a leak in our bathroom and suddenly needed flooring…read morefor a very last-minute renovation. Needless to say, we were stressed! We went into The Floor Store, and Matthew was incredibly kind and helpful. He walked us through our options, and made sure it could be delivered in time. He was so easy to work with, thorough, and really helped us feel taken care of during a stressful and rushed situation. When I came back two days later to pick everything up, John and the team were just as kind and helpful, even loading everything into our car for us. We're so grateful for the wonderful customer service and would absolutely recommend The Floor Store - not just for the great products, but for the genuinely caring people who work there!

Francine is one of the least helpful salespeople I've ever encountered. From the moment we entered…read morethe store, it was difficult to get her attention. Once we connected, we were upfront about our budget, but she repeatedly steered us toward higher priced options and was not transparent about individual product costs. She encouraged us to apply for store credit through Wells Fargo, and I was approved for significantly more than the cost of the flooring we were considering (probably a red flag warning that they will attempt to take you for more than you want to spend). Later that week, she came to our home for a site assessment. While friendly during the visit, she remained vague about installation costs. As she left, she promised to email a detailed quote within a day or two. After a full week with no word, I had to follow up. She responded several hours later with an estimate. The product pricing stayed within what we discussed, but the labor portion was estimated, but listed as "variable," with no fixed amount or not-to-exceed" number. Additionally, she couldn't even guarantee the final cost or confirm they could complete the job. As a contractor myself (in IT), I'm accustomed to providing customers with clear, capped pricing and a promise we will complete the work before they commit, especially on installation work. Its not as if I was hiding anything from her. She had full access to the home for her assessment. If she lacked expertise to properly evaluate the job, they should have sent a more qualified person. This lack of clarity made it impossible to move forward with confidence. After sending the quote, she never followed up and I haven't spoken to her since. Overall, Francine came across as inattentive, inexperienced and unreliable. We ended up purchasing our flooring elsewhere, and based on this experience, I would recommend doing the same.

Rant: California Renovation (Cal Reno) and Roseville Carpet One (RCO)…read more Roseville Carpet One owns California Renovation in Chico. If you're looking for floors, carpet or other services look elsewhere. I had my entire house outfitted with 100% waterproof SPC flooring. The product is high quality, the staff at California Renovation are unbelievably the worst. Around a year after the floors were installed, I noticed a big split at the joint pulling up as seen in picture two. Note, the damaged area has a large rug there 365 days of the year unless needed to clean. I called Cal Reno, they sent out there installation manager. He put a moisture tester to the floor, and said "yup, exactly as I expected. The floors are too wet and you're over mopping." Then proceeded to tell me I needed to use a special mop that I hand wring out to wash the floors. Information that was never provided if true. Then quoted me $600 to replace the four boards in that area. I honestly believed them, maybe I was over mopping. Then the floors started getting worse and in areas that have never been mopped. So I started doing my own research. I looked up the my warranty: 25yrs commercial - 50yrs residential. 100% waterproof. The warranty literally says you can spill water on the floor, leave it and it won't damage it. But clean it up in a timely matter to prevent mold. I called Cal Reno back six months later, the installation manager came back out and said the same thing. Proceeded to tell me I'm mopping too wet and I need a special mop. Long story short, I fought with Cal Reno and RCO for months. They refused to submit a claim to Republic flooring. During my research I found the manufacturer rescinded parts of the warranty. Now the floors are warrantied for 25yrs, half of what it was originally. It also mentioned Visqueen, a moisture barrier must be applied before setting the floors, which was never done. I later found out the manufacturer had changed their warranty 8 months after my floors were installed due to moisture issues and several customers, some of whom were Cal Reno or RCO customers had to have their floors replaced. Also, warranty makes no mention of a special mop. Finally, after a lengthy emails stating the facts, hours of research and second opinions, Cal Reno said they would replace the floors "at cost" and come out to measure. I simply replied no and kept fighting, almost needing to go to court. Finally I thought I won, that same installation manager came back out and said, "we are only going to replace the damaged sections, we want to go easy on the manufacturer." I was almost in shock. Whose side are you on? The bill goes to the manufacturer not you guys. I was fed up at this point, was willing to take whatever I could get and thanked him for fighting on my behalf to get the floors replaced. To my disgust he said, "no, we just forwarded your email to the manufacturer and they said yes." All said and done, the whole house was replaced with new floors that had under two years of wear. I went with this company because my neighbor also used them, and unbeknownst to me, they also had issues they fought for months with their carpet. This was after my contract was in place. The first and second pictures have rugs all year round except for cleaning. Last picture shows the mold and mildew after the floors were taken out. They even had to go back and fill in more cracks in the foundation, with lots of rework. Overall, the floors are great, warranty is(was) amazing, but this company sucks. Doesn't care about you, the hard earned money you spent and will not help you if you have issues. Go elsewhere.
