Susie is very loving and responsible. My dogs adore her! We typically book her for live-in stays, but on occasion we also use her for drop in care. I always receive updates with photos and my dogs always appear relaxed and happy. It makes such a difference having the same person care for my pets, and gives me so much peace of mind. Lisa, the owner, is in tune with all her caregivers. Recently, our flight kept getting delayed and we ended up having to ask Susie to stay longer than anticipated. Once we landed, I let Susie know she could leave as we would be home soon. Before we got home I received an email from Lisa asking me to let her know we made it home so as our dogs were not left without care in the event something delayed us further. We had used other sitters before we found Pick of the Litter, and nothing compares to the care and communication we receive from them. I highly recommend!

We didn't realize we needed to bring dog food when we dropped off Abigail but Theresa was flexible with providing it. Usually, with the boarding we have done with Altavista and Petsmart, we wouldn't need dog food but at least now we know next time. Theresa also had other dogs there and when we picked up Abigail, we noticed how much calmer our dog was. I think it did her a world of good to play with the other dogs. He's now been bitten by another dog twice in past year. Staff didn't notice the incident either time it happened. First time, they did find the bite during a body check, and watched a video of the play area to see what happened and saw a German shepherd bite my dog "for no apparent reason." Said they'd keep the two dogs separated if they were there at the same time again. This time they never found the pretty sizable bite (or opted to not tell me about it). I discovered it the next day, and vet confirmed it was a dog bite so it had to happen there as he's an only dog. Asked Staff to watch video to see what happened and was told they no longer have cameras so no way to determine what dog bit him this time. We won't be returning. They seem to no longer be doing a good job of screening out dogs that don't have the right temperament for daycare and/or doing a good job of supervising the dogs.

How would they know what to do if they had never been to my apartment before? Randy (the owner) came to my apartment before the first visit and took copious notes about what to do. He asked that I buy a lock box on Amazon and place it somewhere in the garage of my building with my keys inside for the pet sitter. I'm used to giving my keys to my pet sitters, but this is actually pretty convenient because it means that I can get my key back right away when I come home. There have been a couple pet sitters who have been to my place, but Anna has been there the most. All of them post updates with photos that appear on the app that you can download on your smartphone (you also get an email copy of this as well). I feel like Anna has really gotten to know my kitty and I appreciate that she really seems to enjoy spending time with her. The other convenient thing about this pet sitter is that you can request the dates of your pet sits online and also you can pay for them with credit card afterwards.
