They do have a clearance section towards the back of the store, but most of the stuff there was actually past its best before date. If you love gourmet stinky cheeses, they had lots! As for me, I'll just stick to brie, harvati and other benign to the nose cheeses thank you very much ;) Fun store to poke around. Lots of free parking.

They have everything an upscale kitchen could need - from the tools to the groceries, including (but not limited to) spices - right down the pepper and salt mills, cheeses, chips, dishes, pots and pans, and top end coffee makers. I will definitely be back to try out the coffee shop in the corner. You need the rest that refreshes (coffee) after a stroll through this shop. What was I waiting for?? They had some very good sales - leftovers from Christmas. I picked up a mug for myself (which had the design of a scarf and mittens. What can I say? I'm a knitter!) and one of those stoneware cookie molds which came with a recipe. This was on sale at a good price; I've seen it at double that elsewhere in the city. Did you know that there's a difference in the mechanisms of a pepper and salt mills? Apparently the salt can rust and corrode a pepper mill, and the pepper is too hard for a salt mill. Whodathunk?! I actually went in looking for coffee pots. The ones we have at work have been seriously used and abused. I'm also feeling the need for an espresso or latté machine, and was hoping I might find one of those nifty combo things here. Turns out that the design I'm thinking of is a bit passé. Too bad for me! However, the good coffee makers they have here are too good for work (read: expensive), and could almost be professional, like for coffee shops. So, I will have to keep shopping. Yum. I've just gotta say this place was very inspiring!!

They also have chefs' uniforms and hats. Good if you're a real chef or if you want to dress up like a chef for Halloween, or for any other reason, lol. They had lots of Japanese Bento boxes, and some of those metal containers that Indian restaurants use to serve Thali. Lots of bamboo steamers too. They had beautiful lacquer boxes shaped like fish and boats that are used to serve sushi as well. The place is bright, clean, and neatly organized. I'm pretty sure it's a family run business because the couple (probably the owners) had their baby in a Jolly Jumper-like device behind the cash register (the baby was super cute by the way). Service was friendly. If you're looking for some kitchenware, give this place a try. Some of the more exotic and unusual things are expensive, but regular items are very reasonably priced. The store is in a strip mall, so there's lots of free parking. It's in the same strip mall as the newly opened Giant Tiger.

To keep it brief: * I saw an item on their website for which suppliers in US were out of stock * I placed order & PayPal converted the US dollars to Canadian currency * I get email from WKS that the item is actually out of stock...refund is issued * I get email from PayPal saying a fee of $8 was being assessed by them * WKS's website didn't say "out of stock", so WKS also refunded me the fee So, even though WKS didn't have to, they wanted to make it right by reimbursing me, a fist time customer, for the PayPal fee (which should have technically been absorbed by PayPal for an online sale that never actually took place). I will gladly buy something from this fine company in the future! Don P. Nov '22 Texas

I had a high-quality bathroom vanity with granite top installed several years ago, service was excellent and the work remains flawless. The showroom has a lot of nice setups and parts on display. The shower diverter, which cost $94 plus tax/labour, broke in just over 3 years. As a temporary measure, a cheap one ($30) installed on the wrong side of shower head for which I paid the labour of $113. With covid, gave them lots of time only to be told no replacement diverter for the correct side of shower head could be found. Wondered if owner knew what was going on, so mailed a letter to be opened by him only. No acknowledgement received after well over a month. So am left with a hand shower costing $265, a $94 diverter that broke, plus labour costs, which is not safe to use as installed on wrong side of shower head. I do prefer to give my business to local companies, but now it's sadly 'BUYER BEWARE'.

From start to finish the workmanship was shockingly poor and the attention to detail just wasn't there. The kitchen cabinets are visibly uneven, and you can see it the moment you walk into the room. The doors are crooked, some don't line up with each other, and a few don't even close properly. It looks like everything was thrown together in a rush with no care for basic level or alignment. When I raised these issues, I did not feel taken seriously, and there was no real effort to make things right. For the amount of money spent, this result is completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering Spectrum Kitchen to look elsewhere if you care at all about quality and professionalism.

If you are looking for something better than a hardware store box kitchen (which would be fine in some circumstances, but sometimes you need something a little extra), this is a good place to look. Their displays are beautiful, and incorporate good use of space. It's those little, finishing touches that make such a big difference, such as: access to the back of a cabinet that divides rooms, like an island, or an L-shaped counter where the back is exposed to another room. We are looking for some way to add a little more storage to our house, specifically the kitchen, without losing the integrity of the space. We wandered around Laurysen looking for ideas; it would be very tempting to replace the kitchen entirely! I need to go back again, to look at the selection in the lower level. This is an excellent show room for anyone who likes to see things in person, as opposed to shopping from a catalogue.

Heck, I still don't have the correct nobs on my drawers (and I had NO nobs until I got pissy and they sent someone out to slap random handles on until they can get their act together)! Multiple days taken off work - and at times, for some guy to come out and literally do nothing ... seriously. Nothing. I would expect this from a low budget company, but Laurysen isn't cheap. 60% down payment over 5 moths ago to get it all started, and they WOULD NOT even unload the cabinets from the truck upon delivery without the next 30% deposit. I haven't even mentioned the 3 garbage cans (which I filled) of material that was left in my garage after installation. Love the look of the kitchen, but in hindsight, I would have negotiated the payment plan better to withhold 20-30% of final payment ... that might actually motivate this company to be a little more punctual with finishing its job.

Comparable to the Jysk store next door, which sells some similar items, this store goes a step further by offering small kitchen appliances. For me this is essential, as I look after the coffee club at work. This store sells a Krupps expresso maker with a milk frother attached, for just $79.00!! Altogether too often, I'm finding these attrociously expensive machines (in the range of $1,200, but some at $3,000 or higher!!) for some thing I would personally not use enough to make the tremendous expense worth while. So, I will have to bear this in mind, depending what happens with the machine we currently have which recently broke. Either I fix that one at a reasonable price, or I run back to this store and pick up this little cutie! Oh my, are we ever spoiled at work! Well, you need SOMEthing to look so forward to! Imagine having an office where you can get better coffee than else where! Yehaw!! Aside from that piece of wonderfulness, they have a wide variety of those hanger-things for your shower (where there's never enough shelving for the shampoos and other shower essentials). Of course, they sell bed sheets - individually, and in sets, bath towels, dishes, and all kinds of stuff. All in all, this was another fun place to wander around in and look around. I will occasionally go back. Update January 21, 2016: This page seems to have been moved to Ottawa Trainyards which is incorrect as I've never been there. This store is actually in Grant's Crossing in Kanata. I was in here today and found what I was looking for: a squeegee for the shower, and they offered quite a few to choose from, too.
