It was fun.. clean.. smallish. Lots of things but easy to look around…read more Old Consumer's counter? My friend brought me in here.... Had no idea about it. Lots of parking.. right off the Queensway. Camping. Kitchen. Gadgets. Planter's dream. I guess if you need service, you presss a button and get a number! Like the old days! We spent a long time looking. Didn't buy anything but I have a feeling I'll be back. It was fun. Dog friendly too.

I can't believe I've never reviewed Lee Valley Tools! This store is one of my husband's favourite…read morestores. It sells tools, gardening supplies, and gadgets for the house. They have a limited amount of inventory that they display in the store. The rest of their items are in their warehouse. You look through their catalog using their on-site computers and it will tell you if the item you want is on display (if that's the case, you just find it and get it and check out) or in their warehouse. If it's in their warehouse, you jot down the item number and bring it to the staff and they will get it for you from the warehouse. I am totally going to date myself by saying this, but the set up is a little bit like the now defunct Consumers Distributing. Does anyone remember that store? Lol. They were much more low tech back then of course, you'd have to look through an actual paper catalog to find the item number, lol. Staff here are always very pleasant. They genuinely seem like they enjoy being there. They are easy-going and have a calm demeanor. The vast majority of them are in their golden years and it appears to me like it's their post-retirement gig to get out of the house and make some extra money, lol. I could be wrong, but this is my perception. The prices are on the higher end, but I find the quality of their products are also high and they have unique items that are hard to find elsewhere. They have lots of free parking on-site in their private parking lot. If you love innovative gadgets or tools that are a bit nicer than the ones you'd find at your average hardware store, give Lee Valley a look-see.

The products and prices are usually pretty good at lowe's but the customer service at the location…read moreon Hunt Club is the Worse! The only person that is knowledgeable is the Australian or New Zealand guy who works there. He is great. But I hesitate to go there because the cashiers always screw up, and customer service is brutally slow and they are either not knowledgeable or are untrained. Also their return policies are more strict than other stores. For example we bought a toilet that was defective, and we couldn't return it! I get the whole sanitary thing, but we spend hundreds on a toilet that we could not return. We even called the manufacturer for parts and it still leaked. Finally since we couldn't return it we used caulking! It was such a hassle for weeks and we are still having issues with it! When talking to the plumbing guy at Rona, he said that they would've taking back the toilet in that case, since it was defective. So goes to prove that other places really put the customer first. I've also had tons of issues with items not scanning right, like carpeting here. It took forever to get the pricing resolved as the cashiers had no clue what to do. Ugh so frustrating. Also renting a vehicle is a hassle. Make sure you have a paper copy of your insurance with you. Anyways, I will be avoiding this place as much as possible unless they have a good paint sale. It's just not worth the hassle to go to lowe's otherwise.

I went to Lowes with a specific washer in mind,to purchase but the Sales man (Rocco)told me they…read moredid not have it in stock&showed me another&I agreed to purchase that; Whirl pool top loading washer 4.4 WHICH WHIRL POOL STATES SHOULD LAST 10-13 YRS....3 MONTHS&3WEEKS LATER(JULY 8)this washing machine stops functioning... It will not drain &would stop in wash cycle; I approach the Manager who says to me"are you sure an electrical storm wasnt the cause of the control panel being fried"???? I did not get any help whatsoever! I was treated very poorly by this manager! Anyways..the repair man tells me after replacing the main control board, that the motor is rusted out!!!Are you kidding me??? I have been waiting 3 weeks for repairs to be completed&was told that they're still waiting for a motor!!! Thats right!!no washer for over 2 months!!! Seems fishy to me that a brand new WHIRL POOL washing machine's control panel&motor both were garbage!!!i In less than 4 months!!?? Apparently Lowes re stocks with returned merchandise! COULD I HAVE GOTTEN A RETURNED ITEM??? Iwent today &spoke to another Manager (pat)who was much nicer about it; He doesnt understand how i got such a bad washing machine&i asked if maybe they had sold me this washer by mistake? Perhaps it was a return &given to me by mistake??? He also stated that he didnt understand why my washer wasnt exchanged UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES! This store is amazing. I had a wonderful experience here. Everywhere you turn there is friendly…read morestaff and good product selections. I am not sue why the store has been rated with one star. But I can tell you that this is false and not true.

I was driving out to Manotick and just happened to spot this new Rona store located on Bankfield…read moreRoad. Needing a few tools, I decided to make a stop here. Unfortunately, this Rona is a small store and it only has a very small selection of basic tools. I decided to look around and see what other products were for sale. I did eventually find some construction glue, tape and a few other items to buy. With my purchases in hand, I walked over to the cash register. The male cashier was looking at me with a weird (bizarre) expression on his face. Abruptly the cashier said, "You have to pay. You have to pay for the merchandise." Looking at the products being held in my hands I exclaimed, "Everything I'm buying is right here." The cashier rudely said, "How are you paying?" I replied, "With my credit card." Next, the cashier demanded that I show him a piece of photo ID. My planned purchases were for about $60.00. Feeling disgusted, I immediately placed the items onto the counter and walked straight out of the door. While I did briefly look around in this store, the cashier jumped to the totally false conclusion that I was trying to steal something. This store has only a small floor space and a very limited selection of tools and materials for sale, which are used in construction. Given my treatment I will never go back to Rona Manotick on Bankfield Road. Having such a poor shopping experience, I can't in any way recommend this Rona to anyone. I would have rated this Rona with no stars, but you have to give a least one star when writing a review.
