This was our first time at Justin's Place in Butler. We have enjoyed the restaurant in Thomaston many times. First impression is that this place is huge compared to the tight coziness of Justin's Place in Thomaston. Plenty of room and plenty of tables. The menu is the same as in Thomaston. We had sandwiches: Jim's Country Ham, Club and a grilled bacon and cheese special request. Both the hand cut fries and the shoestring fries were good for sides. Service was friendly and efficient. The food came out promptly after ordering. Parking is available on both sides of the building and is a little ways from the door for those who don't want to walk far to get inside. read more

Horrible!!! The owner is so rude!!! I would not refer anyone to eat here. The owner is totally out of control! He truly has anger issues. The food was very good. The owner intolerable. I will never buy anything else from there nor will I refer anyone. No one should be treated the way he treats his customers. Cussing and screaming and yelling over a calm and simple question. UNBELIEVABLE!!! The simple question was why are the prices different than what is stated online? Also higher than what we paid the week before for the same size steak, 16 oz. I asked this question on the phone before picking up the order. The owner became irate when I asked this question. The question was asked very calmly and nicely. The food was cold when we got it and was poorly seasoned. It looks like it all came out of a can. More concerning was the service and overall vibe in this place- when we walked in, the restaurant went SILENT in a creepy way. If you aren't white, old, and from Butler, don't go here. It feels very "sundown town." I was catching glares from others the whole meal (from the servers and host included) while quietly conversing with my grandmother over our food. We were traveling through Georgia today and we were very fortunate to find this local restaurant. What a great find! Justin's Place has a large porch and welcoming southern decor. I enjoyed the hamburger steak, which came with a fresh salad, a side, and Texas toast. Fantastic. And homemade red velvet cake for dessert. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We also had a great talk with the owner and Justin as well. Highly recommend this gem! read more

If you're ever in Butler, GA, Justine's Place is where to have a great meal! The ribeye was so tender and flavorful soaking up the au jus. Everything was so yummy and the servers were so friendly and accommodating. We were so full, but couldn't resist taking a piece of butter pecan cake and peanut butter cake to go. I have been to Justin's Place a number of times and I am never disappointed. The food is really good and the service always comes with a smile. However, if I am being honest - the reason I go to Justin's place is for Justin and his dad Jim. Justin is one cool Dude. Every time I'm there his enthusiasm and pure honesty restore my faith in humanity. His dad Jim is great! But Justin steals the show. I almost always get the catfish it is always perfectly fried or blackened. The side are great and the pickle plate tops it off. I have never had a bad meal here nor have I ever been in when Justin wasn't in. I know I'll be back to Justin's place. read more

I went in before for the 12 lunch rush. I waited a few minutes before being acknowledged and greeted. But then I ordered the old fashioned burger, and it was great. Cook just right. Then the waitress cut me a piece of Caramel cake to take to a friend in the hospital. I was glad I stopped there that day. The restaurant has a nice, pleasant, relaxed feel to it. The food was always good and the service was usually good too however I have a complaint that won't be popular. I really don't prefer anyone constantly coming by my table, even while eating, wanting hugs and conversation. This is the case with the owner's son. We finally quit going because I don't like the"in my face" situation. If it was one time I can see it but they should really try to curb his table visits. the Food there was amazing, I cant tell you how much I enjoyed eating the honey buns and grape flavored Gatorade. however when I was sat down I asked for the gentleman named Justin for who I assumed the fine restaurant was named after. however when I asked I was met with a disgruntled exhale from a 5'2 latina named hermanda the third who said there was no justin. so the restaurant name was quite misleading so I suggest you change the name to better fit the description of the establishment. other than that the food was amazing. Very nice small town restaurant. It is family-run and it is really like a southern version of "Cheers"--where everyone really does start to know your name! I've been to the one in Thomaston and that was very good as well, but this one in Butler is the flagship. The food is delicious and filled with southern charm. They have catfish from Thursday-Saturday and it is extremely flavorful. They are known for their beef, so don't be shy of ordering a big ribeye! read more

What a fabulous restrauant! We were welcomed by the most friendly greeter Justin. Whose smile can brighten everyone's day. Then we were welcomed by our very friendly and attentive waitress. The menu offered a wonderful variety of choices from sandwiches to steaks and shrimp. My husband and our friend enjoyed the 16oz Ribeye, homemade French fries, corn nuggets which was probably one of the best steaks they ever ate. My son ordered the chicken fingers and fries- delicious and I enjoyed the bacon wrapped filet, baked potato and salad. Delicious flavor and melted in my mouth! The owner helps out serving tea or anything you may need. Love the décor inside- very clean and the sign on the door they support the 2nd amendment! Our greatest blessing besides Justin happened as we left. The owner was outside as we were leaving and we chatted about trucks and such. He has such a love for our Lord and lives by Gods word. As a fellow christian, it truly was refreshing to see a humble man letting his light shine for others. We only wish we found this wonderful place earlier. We will be back! Concerning our visit to this place October 19th 2023 at approximately 7:45 we made a phone call there to drive 23 miles to this restaurant they said they would be open till 9:00 we arrived there about 8:20 p.m. and ordered our food to find that when the fries arrived to the table they will burnt be on being able to eat them and a prior incident there we call ahead of time on our engagement picture day and the state was pouring blood again back to last night the owner Jim came to our table halfway through the mill wanting to close his register and made a big deal about us stopping what we were doing eating to come to the register and pay for the food before was finished and then have to go to the bathroom and rewash our hands and by the time we would have gotten back to the table the food would have been cold I refuse to go pay until I finish eating this was my wife's birthday dinner and he made a big deal of it I will not eat there ever again just so you know what to expect . There is also an exceedingly High charge for using a credit card there . My wife and I want either one made feel welcome there or appreciate it as a valued customer we will make it feel like we were inconvenience to support his agenda to make money because that's all he talks about . read more

The food is okay but not spectacular and with slow service. They have substantially increased the prices and in addition, they now charge you for using your credit card, legal but since they do that, the tip will be nothing, let them pay the staff from those extra charges. There are other reasonably priced restaurants in Butler that would be a better choice. I eat here as a last resort. read more

I came here for lunch on a Saturday on the recommendation of a friend. Judging by the crowd inside when we arrived, I expected great things. As you can likely guess from the single star, I was sorely disappointed. First, we waited over an hour and a quarter for four hamburgers. The hamburgers do not come with sides, and all sides are priced at $3.75. For that kind of price, I expected quite a large amount of French fries. Once again, I was disappointed. The burger was a good size, and was clearly of quality beef; however, it was significantly overcooked. To make matters worse, when the check arrived, the price of each of our burgers had gone up by a dollar and a quarter from the menu price. In fairness, the menu did have a Post-It note on the front saying that beef prices may change at any time; however, if you are going to raise the price of my burger by over 20%, you really should let me know when I order it. This place was downtown just hidden enough. The atmosphere was quaint and it had a small town feel to it. The people were really nice and had a certain southern charm. I ordered the fried pickles and Mr. Jim's steak sandwich. This ended up being just a philly cheesesteak, but it was pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but decent. The prices are normal, nothing too expensive, but nothing really cheap either. I think the best thing going for it was the overall southern charm. It was a very cute restaurant that came highly praised by friends. The staff could have been nicer but they weren't the worst. The food on the other hand....very disappointing. People kept telling us it was a steakhouse but the ribeyes that we were served definitely looked like Waffle House steak. Not knocking Waffle House but for the the price we paid for the steak I expected it to be thicker than wafer thin. Salads were just iceberg and a huge chunk of onion.
