We were traveling through Georgia today and we were very fortunate to find this local restaurant. What a great find! Justin's Place has a large porch and welcoming southern decor. I enjoyed the hamburger steak, which came with a fresh salad, a side, and Texas toast. Fantastic. And homemade red velvet cake for dessert. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We also had a great talk with the owner and Justin as well. Highly recommend this gem!

Sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. It's heaven!

Today was my 2nd stop at Justin's. Everything was just as good as the 1st time . If I could give them an extra star for consistency overtime, I would. Thanks for the great breakfast sandwich and coffee.

The is the story of the owner's son and how the restaurant was named. Cool family

I have been to Justin's Place a number of times and I am never disappointed. The food is really good and the service always comes with a smile. However, if I am being honest - the reason I go to Justin's place is for Justin and his dad Jim. Justin is one cool Dude. Every time I'm there his enthusiasm and pure honesty restore my faith in humanity. His dad Jim is great! But Justin steals the show. I almost always get the catfish it is always perfectly fried or blackened. The side are great and the pickle plate tops it off. I have never had a bad meal here nor have I ever been in when Justin wasn't in. I know I'll be back to Justin's place.

The food here is wonderful. I've eaten steaks, hamburger steak, club sandwiches and hamburgers and it's always great. The people who work here are fantastic. I cannot wait until everything is back to normal so I can enjoy my meals in the restaurant but am thankful they remain open with the same high quality food for now.

Wow this place is fantastic stopped for breakfast this place is in butler Georgia so don't pass it up if U are hungry

Very nice small town restaurant. It is family-run and it is really like a southern version of "Cheers"--where everyone really does start to know your name! I've been to the one in Thomaston and that was very good as well, but this one in Butler is the flagship. The food is delicious and filled with southern charm. They have catfish from Thursday-Saturday and it is extremely flavorful. They are known for their beef, so don't be shy of ordering a big ribeye!

Food and service were great. Portion sizes are larger than expected. The place has a down home feel.

Purchased food from here (Butler, GA location) yesterday around 3 pm. My teen son (who is tall for his age) was waiting on our order with me when my mom (who placed the order) walked out to take the rest of the kids to the car. Next thing I know, once the food is ready, there is confusion between the cook (a female) and a coworker (also female) about who's order it was and then the cook POINTS to my son and and says it belongs to that "stud" right there. I looked in disbelief and confusion and my son quickly responds that he's not a "stud", which is a male presenting female for those who are not familiar with the term. Imagine calling a 14 yr old BOY a woman who clearly looks like a BOY! Needless to say, we get in the car and this interaction completely breaks him down as he's telling my mother about the incident and is now in TEARS! All because some random, unprofessional ADULT called a CHILD a name out of nowhere, unprovoked! If I had of been thinking and wasn't in complete shock, I would have asked for a refund and a manager! I will say the coworker told the cook that he was a boy and that the order belonged to us but by then, the damage had been done. This was supposed to be a fun quick trip for our family to spend some time together and visit Peach Lane. I would never spend my money here again and wouldnt encourage others too, either, especially with children present! They might get pointed at and misgenered to their face, too! Food wasnt even worth the disrespectful experience (nor the price) and the next time we travel through, we'll be sure to keep going! Do better!!!

I've been to hundreds of these local eateries all over the Southeast and will offer my honest opinion. In true Lower Alabama fashion, the fried chicken batter is thin and crispy (not thick and crunchy), the mac 'n' cheese is runny but cheesy, and the pork chops are soaked in gravy. It's delicious comfort food for the after-church crowd pouring in on a Sunday, or customers looking for an affordable bite to eat on a weekday. There are some downsides that prevented my rating from mirroring the stratospheric and glowing reviews on user-driven platforms like Yelp. While the batter is wonderful, the chicken is dry. The rice is uneventful. And the mac 'n' cheese was a little runnier than I prefer but wonderfully flavorful nonetheless. The choices for bread were stale Hawaiian rolls or homemade cornbread. For dessert, the lemon pie is quite delicious. And the experience is authentic and enjoyable. I recommend Pannie-George's for a simple, hearty meal.

The Silo is a small, meat and three, cafeteria-style restaurant, with a small, humble range of choices obviously cooked fresh. There really was only a plate option available with your choice of entree (fried chicken/meatloaf), 2 sides, cornbread, dessert (only pie that day), and sweet tea. The chicken was piping hot when we got it, tender and juicy but could've had a little more seasoning. The mac and mashed potatoes were decent, as well as the cornbread which had a nice bit of crust. I really liked the peanut butter pie I got, not too sweet and light enough to finish after a pretty heavy meal.

For a bakery, a DEEP south one at that, you would expect the cobbler to be really good...not so much. It was all edible, but something was off, perhaps it just wasn't seasoned enough. Like there wasn't any sugar or salt in anything. Everybody was super friendly, and these folks were FAST! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. It's one of the only food options in town, and the only thing available on this Sunday.

The foundation is still there with the rooms and decor but with lots of tables set up, similar to hosting a gathering at home. Not only that, everyone here was really friendly! We really felt welcomed, and though the second time, service wasn't as outstanding, it was still good. I think they really nailed down the vibe of southern hospitality. For drinks, they have seasonal cocktails, which I think is fun, but I'm not around at a time where I would be able to chill and drink. I end up with a go-to sweet tea. Strong and sweet, that it kept me up, but not the strongest nor sweetest I've had. There's also complimentary bread that's mini muffin shaped and dense like a biscuit. It's buttery and salty, but I like it! Before coming, I saw so many things about the sampler, so I definitely wanted to get it and try out. Love the fried green tomatoes with the honey mustard. It didn't feel oily, and it held up pretty well when cut and dipped into sauce. The pimento cheese here is probably the best I've ever had, but I will admit that I have not had many (I tend to not like it). In fact, both these items stay on my mind enough that I do think about coming here more often than I thought I would. And this is just for the apps. The rest of the entrees are pretty standard. Some better than others, but that's due to preference. I haven't gone through the whole menu, but I do prefer their chicken to some of the other menu items. For their sides, I haven't seen or heard of some of them. I asked about them, and they were described p well, enough for me to not want to try congealed salad. I'm not a big fan of jello type things, but I did try the pear salad. Not for me. Absolutely not for me. I did really enjoy the collard green soup and sweet potato souffle though! They were great, esp the souffle. It was my first time having nuts in them, and I loved it so much. Everything else was alright, like I'm sure you've had or can make better mac. Overall, I'm glad to know this place because it's a good rec for the area if you're in the mood for Southern food. It's not a bad pick for vegetarians either, though they would only have appetizers and sides to pick from, but I liked them more than the entrees. There's a parking lot, and it's in a good location to see the rest of downtown Perry too.

For those of you who don't read my reviews, only about one in five barbecue joints I go to make the cut. The last one that didn't make the cut, was that fast food place Smokin Ds in St Augustine Florida. Anyhow, let's get to Big J's. I'm parked across the street, which I park at semi often, and throughout the years, and have only been next door at the vape shop in the strip mall. I think the other times I've came by they were closed, but they weren't closed today and I kind of expected them to be. I wanted to have supper here last night, but I had to go endure tragedy at the Mexican restaurant in the same row. I noticed they were open today, so I mosied it over about 1:00 p.m. The place is really clean, it's a family run outfit, and they are ALL SO nice. So I wanted a brisket plate, but the nice young gentleman behind the counter told me that it wasn't ready and it would be ready in an hour, so I came back at 2:00 p.m.. I ordered brisket, collards and green beans. Again if you don't follow me, you don't know my culinary history and that on the smoke pit, but this place was just about as good as my own. My collards were fabulous, green beans were off the chain, my brisket was hot, tender and moist. So good! They went above and beyond, the young gentleman at the counter asked me if I was a truck driver after placing my order, which I am an O/O, and I got something free or got a discount, not too sure what it was but I got something! That means a lot, we spend weeks and months away from our families to bring ungrateful people the things they want, so it's a little gestures like that that really makes a difference to us. Well they definitely have a lifetime customer. I just have to make sure when I pull here that they're open.
