Ah, now I get it. Either changed their name to "happy nails & spa" to avoid terrible reviews or new owners. Either way, do not go here. Did a terrible job on my dipped manicure. They are super thick and chunky, filed haphazardly at the top, and have undone ridges around them. Left with powder all over my hands and shirt, plus my finger tips are still sore. Don't get me started on the pedicure, which looks nice but the mail tech was very rough. This is supposed to be relaxing, not torture. I have no callouses or feet issues, it's not like they needed to spend a lot of effort and get out a belt saw here, there was no reason for it. Fiancé was with me and got a pedi as well and his cuticles weren't even trimmed: For his mani, there was no cleaning under his nails and they were also filed unevenly. I am looking for a new nail place and have had no luck finding one. I use Yelp for everything and although the reviews for this establishment are not that great... I enjoyed the nail art and photos that I found for this business. I arrive at 3:15 and asked for a manicure and pedicure. The woman at the front was slightly rude bc I asked if she had acrylic only powders and instead of explaining that they did not and only carried SNS powders, she looked at me as if I was dumb... This was my first red flag. (Sorry, I've never been to your salon before and would like to know what services your offer. Make me feel welcome, it is you job as a service provider) I asked for SNS, they asked me to pick a color and sit in a pedicure chair. Acetone was poured on my nails at the beginning and my pedicure was started. I sat for an entire hour with foil and acetone on my nails with 5 new clients walking through the door and being sat and helped with their manicures before mine. My nails were not touched once until 4:30 at which point, I paid for my pedicure and left. At NO point, did they tell me that I would have to wait until after my pedicure to get a manicure. And I will say this very clearly, so please read it slowly--- I'm looking at you business owner: I HAVE NEVER. Repeat NEVER. Had to wait for my pedicure to be finished in order to get a manicure. EVERY SINGLE nail salon I have ever been to, will have your nail technician sit at the pedicure chair with you and do your nails as your pedicure is being done. You -- business owner-- are wasting people's time by making them wait. I do not wish to sit in your salon for 2 hours. Your business model is flawed and you are rude for even questioning me about what "really happened" So please, brush up on your business acumen, stop being childish and petty and learn how to run an efficient business. If you are considering giving this place a shot. Don't. I highly recommend that you rethink visiting this salon that charges high prices for subpar service. There are plenty of other nail salons in Mt Pleasant that will give fast and effective service without acting like children on Yelp. --------- Terrible service. I get the SNS manicure and Mai uses the genuine product (unlike another shop I tried along the way); I love the way it looks and how well it holds up. I went in for a pedicure and manicure before engagement photos later that afternoon. I arrived at 12:30 and was seated for a pedicure right away. The chairs and pedicure seats seemed clean. The painting of my toenails turned out good but it was not the full pedicure I paid for. NO massage was done. He also did not do the top part of my cuticles at all!! I decided to try the SNS (dip) manicure after hearing good things from friends. I really like the way they turned out - better than gel. But once again this was not the full manicure I paid for. He skipped doing ANY cuticles at all. Also no massage was done for my manicure either. And I did not get any lotion! So I left with extremely dry hands. The final bill was $73!! During my manicure, one of the employees came up and said "invite your friends!" If I could give this zero stars I would. I came in tonight because my normal spot, Vogue Nails, was closed. This place has seriously gone downhill. I asked for a regular manicure and after my nails being barely filed, I was told this is $17. Ridiculous when I'm used to paying $15 for a full hand massage, cuticle service and filing that is worth a dang. To make things worse, when it came to painting my nails, the man had jagged edges. He seemed very offended when I asked him to go around with a brush and remover, and I still do not have smooth edges on my polish! He then did not grab my belongings or help me over to the drying area - so I guess he was very upset with my asking him to clean up the edges. I'm usually not a picky person but definitely felt like I wasted my $30 for a gel manicure. The guy cut below the quick of my nail, causing me to bleed on 2 different occasions. My nail never had that thick shining feeling and the nails themselves began to crack. This has never happened before and the polish began to chip in a week and a half. Don't waste your money. The salon online and the salon you actually go to are not one in the same. I called and made an appointment because I'm new in town, had a very taxing move and husband insisted on me getting a little TLC - I show up at my appointment time and the whole shop stares at me like I have 3 heads - they were so confused I actually said, "is it okay for me to get a pedicure?" So after a pretty meh start, I must say, the service was awesome! I got a great pedicure and very standard manicure. The prices aren't bad. Not sure about all the low-star reviews. This was my first pedi, my wife insisted that my hobbit feet needed some TLC. So I went along with this, having to check my ego at the front door. I relieved to see at least another man in there getting his feet done as well. Mostly a lot of gals from teens to 50+, Most are HM (high-maintenance) chicks, but everyone pretty much keeps to themselves and that is all fine with me. After a good soak, my "technician" (Katie) cleaned and trimmed and took care of some ingrown toenails and my feet looked 20-years younger (and felt 20-years younger after her massage). Will be checking in every month or so for a similar treatment. The $25 plan is all it takes. With tip it was about $35 and welllll worth it. read more

Being new to the area, I went to formerly Silver Nails, which has since changed management, their name (I like better) and several of the employees. I have observed Mai, the owner, bend over backwards to ensure all of her clients are comfortable with their nail technician, their end product/service, and the manner in which the salon is managed. Many of the complaints I have read occurred well before Mai took over the management of the salon. I have witnessed a problem with a customer's dissatisfaction and Mai addressed it immediately and professionally. Her staff is being built and have found the majority of them to be helpful, friendly and very good technicians. Most importantly for me, the salon and the instruments are kept very clean. Went post baby as a treat to myself with a gel manicure. One of the first times I left my baby at home with my husband. The technician was sweet, but smelled like cigarettes to the point of making me sick. I was disappointed when I left, but I thought I had too high of expectations. My sister and I went in a week ago to get our nails done. I have gotten dip for a long time now and it has never taken an hour and a half to get them done, not even if I have dip and having to remove and redo again. We spent an hour and a half and once they were done with my sisters nails they had to redo the clear coat because they were messed up. My cuticles were cut too deep and bled as well. On top of all of that a week later both of our nails started to peel off. I am a hairstylist and have my hands in water 24/7, dip always lasts me a whole month without any peels and it's impossible to think that we paid a good amount of money for the nails for them to peel a week later. I mentioned something about it never taking this long to get nails done, no pedicure, no special treatment, just simple nails. Everyone was nice but niceness does not run a business. There was no recognition as to the amount of time and messes that were made. We are very unhappy and def not coming back. read more

A friend and I decided last minute to get a pedicure before a wedding we were attending the next day. I had looked on yelp to find a salon close by and then went to their website to check out the prices. The website pictures a very nice picture of wine, we were not even offered water much less wine. We walk in the back door we learned and a man yells out to us if he could help us. We were quickly seated in the pedicure chairs that the massaging portion did not work for either one of us. We both chose the basic pedicure. I chose a essie polish and my friend wanted french pedicure. We did not receive a 5 minute massage, maybe a minute to rub some lotion on our feet. The man who did mine put some clear liquid (I can only guess acetone or alcohol) into the nail polish because I guess it was drying up? The woman doing my friend mess up and had to re-do her left toe. We were then rushed out of the chairs over to the drying station where the woman took our cards and almost ran the wrong card for the wrong person. She comes back with our receipts to sign and there was no portion to leave a tip? I asked the lady if we could leave a tip and she said cash only. Nowhere on the website or within the salon did it mention this? Fast forward three days later and my polish is cheeping on every toenail. Typically pedicures will last at least 2-3 weeks if not longer?! read more

I have been going to Silver nails for at least 5 years and am sorry to say I will not be going back. I had a pedicure and manicure on Friday morning and before Friday evening my third toenail on my right foot chipped and 4 (FOUR) fingernails had chipped. My friend had three nails chip. We used Morgan Taylor and OPI polishes which I've used many time before. My pinky nail completely peeled off without assistance. I am so disappointed at the waste of money. I had an event Saturday and had to go purchase the polish color and repaint my hands. Whatever base coat or top coat they were using was so cheap it didn't even look very shiny. They also finished both of our pedi/manis in under a half hour. Go to Nails So Dep instead. I will never be going back to Silver nails as this is two unacceptable experiences this summer. read more

I went there with my sons girlfriend for a nice afternoon manicure. We decided to use the gel polish. One woman rushed me over to her table after I asked if we could sit together. When I arrived I asked if we could sit together when I came in. She was still at work and was on her way. When she came in they immediately seated her, ignored me and I had to ask to sit next to her. Then I had three different people work on my hands and finally one gentleman finished my nails. They look good when I left but a day later they chipped, especially the left one and my right thumb. They are supposed to last 2 to 3 weeks. Not the case. Also when he was finished he solicited me for a tip, not only for himself but for the other two who did nothing but prep me and make me wait for service. Unbelievable I will not be going back there. Very unprofessional. I gave this establishment 3 shots being that they are so close to my house. First time the man who did my nails for my graduation was rude and argumentative with me. He didn't ask for any feedback on how I liked my nails and upcharged me for a service I didn't need. The second time they convinced me to try gel nails that cracked soon afterwards. And the 3rd time an employee roughly sliced my nail bed open and I had to ask 4 times for some alcohol to clean it because they ignored my wound and just wanted to slap glue and acrylic over it. I was determined to treat myself to a pedicure today so I went all out and got a Hot Stone Pedicure. My nail technician Brandon was very very good. Typically the nail technicians are in a hurry and most times hurt me with their aggressiveness. I apparently had a hang nail and Brandon extracted it without causing me any discomfort or pain. CLEANLINESS - I was very pleased to not only see sterilized tools and new files being used, but workers with gloves and masks to protect themselves. QUICK - I took the time to get the Milk and Honey pedicure and a gel manicure. I was greeted and seated immediately in the comfy massage chair. The massage with the pedicure was one of the best I have had and the pedicure itself was flawless. GEL MANICURE - beautifully done and Ron (surely not his real name as he is fairly recently arrived from Vietnam) was a perfectionist. Unfortunately decided to try this place out as my regular salon was packed. I had a gel mani and 4 fingers were skipped for cuticles. I asked to have my nails trimmed, and after they were cut off, he proceeded to file my finger, not even the nail. Clear gel got on the entire tip of my finger and burned the skin under the UV rays. An entire hand was skipped for the top coat, and when questioned that it was skipped, I was told I didn't remember. I walked out of there with gel about to peel off because it was all over my fingers. I will not be going back to Silver. read more

I waited 30 min, was snapped at for having earbuds in as he did my pedicure. Onto nails, he shaped them wrong and argued with me over it, hurt my fingers as he scraped the gel off because he wasn't even looking at my hands!! And then made me pay (and very bluntly asked for a tip!!) before he got started on what I thought would be a manicure. Once I paid, he swiped a clear coat on and told me to go to the dryer. I asked for a base coat, pink tinted polish, and top coat. He picked up my purse, left it at the dryer and went on to give someone else a pedicure!
