This place is pretty pricey for the type of massage you receive. Of course you shouldn't expect any frills from a place like this but I've received massages at almost half their price that includes a foot soak and better masseuses. It's not awful or anything but I enjoyed their other location down the street more and will most likely head there next time even though it's further away. read more

Called the studio to book an appointment and was told they had an available appointment, and seconds later they changed their mind and said they were closing early for the night. So I booked an appointment online 3 days in advance, only to be told when I showed up that they did not see it. Do not be fooled by the price - this massage FOR SURE the best deal in town. Pros: -This location has bed warmers -Clean -Cheap -Great therapists -And oh the price!!! Cons -Incredibly small/tight/claustrophobic reception area -The place could look a little better, but that is all forgotten once the massage starts :) -Thin walls, so if your masseuse is stationed close to the reception area, you can hear conversations -They can be so slammed with business that walk-in appointments are often unavailable. I've been coming here consistently for the past year, and now that I'm about to move to Hollywood in a couple of weeks I decided it's okay to share my therapists. With places that only charge 45 bucks a pop, it's really hard to find the ones that get the basics right. The staff at this location have managed to get it right. The staff is friendly, noise is kept to a minimum, sheets are clean, the massage tables are comfortable, appointments start on time, the therapists are well-trained and focused solely on your massage (apparently, this is too much to ask for at other places). Like many who frequent Just Massage, I was looking for my own talented therapist that was clueless about the fact that she could probably get a higher paying gig elsewhere. Well, I found two. When I want to get roughed up with deep-tissue massages, I go to Ariel. One of the few therapist that knows how to prep your muscles before going in for the kill. And she is on a mission to seek and destroy as many knots as she can in an hour. She seriously puts an insane amount of effort throughout the entire hour. I have no clue how she can keep that up all day. But I'm glad she does. Next is Priya. Who I go to when I just want to relax and get rejuvenated. Her massages are slower-paced and more of a meditative experience. She syncs her strokes with the music and adjusts her style based on what she feels from your muscles. What can I say, it feels great. I can't leave without a smile on my face! I'm a big believer that this is one of those things where you, as customer, are responsible for making the most out of the experience. Get some exercise that day, get in a sauna/jacuzzi/hot shower and drink plenty of water beforehand, don't eat beforehand, arrive early so you don't stress yourself out by being in a rush. Find a therapist you like, stick with her and give plenty of feedback, be friendly, and tip well. read more

Wow...I just got home from a massage at this place, and man am I grateful I went. Just Massage is exactly what the name says. Just Massage, and a damn good one at that. The therapists here specialize in any traditional massage style you could want, however it seems their specialty is deep tissue Thai massage. I spent 5 hours this morning, walking 18 miles from Hermosa Beach to the 3rd St Promenade as part of a group meditation walk. Walking through rain, wind and pain, let's just say a massage was much needed and well earned :) With that said, my masseuse went to town. She managed to take care of every knot and kink, leaving no mussel unturned. She wrapped me up like a pretzel and stretched me like no yoga class ever has. It was awesome. I'm right with Audrey S. (below) on this place. I went a few times last year and would give the massages 3 stars, but the receptionist is so rude that I will never be back. The few times I went last year she was less than friendly. I brushed it off because I live so close. Then I called yesterday at 6pm and made an appt for 7pm. Unfortunately got pulled into work stuff so I called at 6:45pm to politely cancel. The receptionist "ugh'ed" in exasperation, said "Okay..." and hung up on me. Really? That's how you speak to your clients? Well ex-client now, sister. I understand that cancellations are inconvenient, but they happen & at least I called - it's just a part of business. TERRIFIC MASSAGE FOR THE PRICE. i have pretty regular back pain, and i love massages - burke williams is a luxury a rarely want to pay for, and in the past 2 years, i've started going to "foot spa" type massage places - cheap, easy, and totally hit or miss. Just Massage is right down the street from my office so i tried it for the first time today and was really impressed. Priya was amazing...honestly, most attentive, focused massage i have ever had in my entire life. it's a pretty no-frills place, so don't expect a spa experience. my only complaint would be that the bed was a little hard and i could have used a blanket in addition to the sheet (it got a little cold at times), but otherwise - if you just want a great massage and nothing else - this place is a great bet. read more

I received a gift card to this place from my lovely boyfriend, as he knew I resembled something close to a human pretzel. All that traveling can make a little lady twisted up. I looked at reviews and figured I'd be as straightforward as possible when booking my appointment. I made it pretty clear that I needed somebody to kick the crap out of my shoulders and neck. When I got there, I was handed off to Lauren. Indeed, the crap was kicked out of my shoulders and neck! It was nice and mostly relaxing, except for this very awkward moment where she shook my legs about. It was mildly uncomfortable, but beyond that just felt really weird. There was a sign in the room explaining how much you should tip... it was interesting to say the least, I thought it went without saying that you ought to tip. Totally worth the 45 bucks. Very pleasantly surprised by this place. It is no frills. If you are into incense and gurgling fountains and whatnot, maybe this joint isn't for you. Me? I just wanted someone to help me release this nagging pain in my deteriorating dad bod (not even a dad!). I was able to get a same day appointment. My session was booked for 2 pm and things got rolling around 2:05 or 2:10 so they keep their schedule. What I was most happy with that my masseuse worked on what I wanted her to work on. I had a particular area that was bothering me and she worked that sucker out. I had a previous massage at a different place and it's like this guy was programmed to perform his usual routine regardless of what was troubling me. I have visited Just Massage twice and had a wonderful experience both times. Both times I got the deep tissue which was not only relaxing but helped with the tightness from doing Crossfit. I haven't tried the Sports Massage but am hoping to in the next few weeks. The price is definitely reasonable for the quality of the massage. There is a public parking lot which also serves the businesses around the massage studio and sometime gets crowded with the dinner crowd. Street parking is also available. They got me in same-day for a 30-minute massage (which was all I could do since I was at work)... and PRIYA changed my life. She is excellent. So in tune with her patients/customers and their body's reaction to her technique. Such a small lady, but so strong. I heart Priya! I highly reccomend her. I will say, when I walked in I almost turned around and walked right back out. The receptionist was not friendly whatsoever, but warmed up over time. The atmosphere is not inviting, but the longer I sat there, the more people came out of the rooms with smiles on their faces and excellent comments. The place was slammed for a Sunday midday. They could really improve the atmosphere with a little paint and maybe some small water features or sound machines in the rooms since I could hear every conversation going on in the lobby. I had Emma...She was AWESOME! I'm pregnant and was very comfortable in there. She listened to me and focused on my problem areas. Tried them based on reviews here and it's great! Started with 30 minutes of head/neck massage and after a while graduated to one hour, all with wonderful Opal who really listens and can work light, or deep, whatever you need. I go now every week. Get a discount card if you want to do this to save $$ (10 one hour massages for $400, saves $50). Great value for a really good massage without the frills, just sparkling clean facility, great massages, and everyone who works there that I've met is really nice.l read more

Not bad. Not great. This is no frills, come in, get your massage and you're done. If you're looking for spa pampering you didn't read the name on the sign! I think the cost is pretty inexpensive. The only thing is my massage therapist seemed a bit...lost. My friend set this up and I didn't really know how this place operated - maybe it's just a deep tissue place? Maybe it was just the luck of the draw but I got in, laid down and she just started pounding me without asking me what I wanted or how hard. So I stopped her and asked her what does she specialize in and that I was getting ready for a race so I wanted to be loose. She just nodded along and kept going. Oh well. It wasn't bad. Lauren is the masseuse I have every time I go. She really helps alleviate my lower aching back ,sciatic pain and encourages good blood flow for my body through her massage technique. One of the worst massages I've received, and I've received a lot over the years. One could argue that I could have/should have asked to lower the pressure. No frills massage parlor. It was my first time there so I filled out a questionnaire which was nice because they try to tailor the massage to meet your needs. I requested a deep tissue massage because I had really stiff muscles in my upper back and neck. The next day, my muscles were still in pain, more pain than before the massage. I thought a massage was supposed to help relieve the pain... The walls are thin so you hear other people talking out in the hall. No place to wash off the massage oil off so you end up putting your clothes back on over your oily body. I went straight home to take a hot shower. This place is a great hidden gem in the heart of Westchester with clean services and very affordable prices. And in trying not to sound grandiose, I have had massage therapy all over the world due to a spinal neck injury, and I'm certain that Angie knows the art of healing therapy and can strut her stuff at ANY 5 star spa out there. $45 for an hour body massage is definitely a good price. Sometimes the therapists do not say much other than hello to you, so unless you speak up your massage may not be perfect. I like to feel that the knots are being rubbed out, and if you are like that than request Opal, after many visits she is the best therapist for me. You can usually call the day before, but they are not as busy so at times i have called the same day. There is also a couples room, but it is not laid out to where you can talk. It almost feels like you are having your own massage until you have to get up and see the person on the other end of the room. read more

I herd about this place from a friend. She said the prices where low but they do a great job. I was in so much pain and needed a massage asap. The receptionist is HORRIBLE! She's an older lady not very friendly. When you usually visit an establishment such as here the receptionist is welcoming. Well yeah not here. My therapist Jimb I think is how you spell it. She was awesome !! I explained my problem areas and she focused on them very well. I felt much better after my massage! The receptionist didn't ask if I enjoyed my massage. She didn't even ask of I wanted to schedule another appointment. She just told me how much I owed . Also the tip envelopes are at the front desk. This being my first time I didn't know if I should her the tip or my therapist. I asked do I leave this with you are her? Her reply was Doesn't matter. I will return only because my therapist. The place is a whole in the wall with virtually no ambiance. Service at the reception desk varies from poor to adequate at best. The walls are thin and rooms are drafty. But if you're lucky enough to get Wallace as your massage therapist, you'll forget about all of that along with whatever stress you walked in with. There are many people who practice massage but few who have his gift of touch. After one session with him you won't ever want to settle for less!Something has to be exceptional for me to take the time to write a review (this is only my 5th). I read some reviews on here about the rude receptionists, and I thought, "it couldn't be that bad." Well, it is. Both of the receptionists that I've interacted with give me the impression that they hate their job and just want to be left alone. Zero customer service skills. Please give the job to someone who actually wants to be there. They acted like they were doing me a favor by even making a phone call to schedule a massage. My husband had the same experience. Kat was wonderful. Came here because I had a Mother's Day gift card. When I called to make the appointment a younger lady answered the phone and booked my appointment. When I got to my apt, an older receptionist, that was picking her knee hairs, welcomed me. Afterwards, when I gave her the gift card to pay for the massage she snatched it from my hand and sighed.
