I can report that I had an absolutely fantastic experience and both Tina and Julie did a masterful job. We did a couples massage this past weekend and opted for deep tissue. Both Tina and Julie are true masters of this technique and really did a wonderful job. I have been getting massages for decades at 5 star resorts to little local places so I really feel I know when it's a good session or not. Thankfully this was a good session. This is not a full service spa with steam rooms and full bass. It is a straight massage spot, but it's very clean and quiet which all that is needed for a great massage. They offer deep tissue, Swedish, Thai, reflexology, hot stones, cupping, full body scrub, pregnancy, and I'm sure a few other options. I tend to do deep tissue myself, but every now and then a Swedish is a nice call. Parking is really easy, it's located in a large shopping center, so there's plenty of free parking spaces right out front. Pricing is also very fair, it was $80 for 1 hr of deep tissue, and the entire staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend and will be back again in the future for more sessions.

Before our massage/nail service, we were seated outdoors in the patio area and served complimentary fruit, tea, and champagne. The vibe outside was so cute and relaxing. It felt breezy and nice. The masseuses came out to put heated neck wraps on our shoulders and soak our feet in water with rose petals and rub our feet. We had fun chatting with them. The people working here are so friendly and fun! Our services were great as well, which included facials, swedish and thai massages, and a manicure. Love that there is an attached nail salon. We came in a large group of 8 but they were able to fit us all in the same appointment time. We paired up in rooms for the massages. After our service, they served us delicious coconut water and more snacks/drinks. The owner even surprised me with a little ice cream, and sang a birthday song, and gave us a bunch of spoons for us to share. They brought out a sweet sixteen sign for fun even though I'm definately way older haha. All of us had a lot of fun and laughs. The amenities were cheap, the AC wasn't working, appointments ran late, and the operation felt held together by good intentions. Somehow a massage and facial became an almost four-hour adventure. The massage was fine. The facial was terrible. No one was rude--the place was just spectacularly unpolished. If you're looking for a basic neighborhood massage, you may be perfectly happy. I didn't even have to give Tricia much information, I just told her roughly where I have issues/tightness and she went to work and found all of the places that needed working out - and then some! Incredible and detailed work that was much appreciated and gave me much relief. Pricing is incredibly fair. Can't wait for my next session! Will definitely be going to her regularly from now on. In fact, I recommend him so much that I've sent my mom and several friends his way too. I originally came in for chronic tension and pain, and his detox massage has made a real difference for me. Calling it a massage almost undersells it. It's more of a full experience, he works in hot stones, cupping, and stretching along with the actual bodywork, and everything flows together in a way that leaves you feeling balanced from head to toe, not just loosened up in one spot. My honest advice: splurge and book 90 minutes or more if you can. The shorter sessions are good, but the extra time is what lets JJ really get to every part of your body and do his thing properly. You feel the difference.

I signed up for the premium monthly membership at Simply Massage Burke Williams because a friend of…read moremine is a massage therapist there, and I was genuinely excited about the value--$135/month for an 80-minute massage with a "complimentary upgrade" like deep tissue or sports massage sounded like a great deal. Unfortunately, my recent experience was really disappointing. Since my friend wasn't available, I booked with a different therapist and asked for the deep tissue upgrade. Before we started, I clearly explained that I'm a distance runner and was looking for something between a sports massage and deep tissue: focused work, but not the kind of super intense pressure that leaves you sore for days. The massage therapist was so nice and I really thought we were aligned. But pretty quickly, something felt off. It took me a while to realize what it was, but there was no music playing at the start of the session. The therapist didn't turn it on until 20-30 minutes in, which made the whole beginning feel awkward and not very relaxing. There were also some basic details that were missed. I had forgotten to put my hair up, and instead of helping manage it (like placing a towel over it, which most therapists do) my hair kept getting caught and falling onto my neck. Rather than addressing it, the therapist just avoided working on my neck altogether which is an area that really needed attention. As for the massage itself, the technique just didn't meet expectations. At times it felt like the therapist was attempting pressure point work, but without enough pressure to actually be effective. I did mention that I could handle more pressure, but there wasn't much adjustment. Overall, it didn't feel like a deep tissue or sports massage, more like a very light, unfocused session that didn't address what I had communicated beforehand. I left feeling frustrated and honestly pretty upset that I had used my monthly massage on an experience that didn't meet my needs. I typically tip 20-30%, but this time I only tipped 15% because of how disappointed I was. I ended up sitting in my car afterward and crying because I was so frustrated--both that the massage didn't help when I really needed it, and that I hadn't been more assertive in the moment. To their credit, when I reached out afterward, a manager named Jamal was kind and responsive. However, he said he wasn't local to the Marina del Rey location and would pass my concerns along. That was a week ago, and I haven't heard anything since. The lack of follow-up only adds to the frustration. Since I'm locked into a 6-month membership, I'll have to give it another try, but moving forward I'll likely only book with my friend and won't continue after my contract ends. Overall, this experience didn't match the level of quality or professionalism I expected from a place with Burke Williams' reputation.

I got an hour massage, but honestly I was done after 5 minutes. INSANELY loud talking in their tongue from the man who was massaging me and the woman that was I am guessing supposed to work the front desk. Three different times he completely walked away mid massage to go talk to her, he was yelling (furiously) something to her as she was on the phone. I literally laid there with my eyes open showing him I was very very uncomfortable- only to have him continue talking and talking and taking. It was insane!!! Do these people not care about customers and keeping business? I should have walked away 5 minutes in. The massage itself was almost done by a non professional. I am curious if this man is even licensed. He lazily brushed his hands against me, and there was zero technique. Here is an even bigger kicker. When I got to paying, I really did not want to tip - but I figured I will tip $5 since not tipping feels wrong; but they didn't even deserve a penny - even for the massage itself, forget the tipping. When I gave this man $35 cash, he started mumbling something and pointing to credit card machine. I figured he wants me to pay I'm card and tip on cash so I said ok. After he used my card for now $31 ($1 fee I guess for cards) I gave him the $5, only to have him start yelling and write down $15 on a piece of paper!!!! Yes this man was demanding I tip him $15 for his crappy unprofessional job!!!! I told him that tipping is my choice and frankly he doesn't even deserve $1 and walked out. Unbefuckenlievable. The massages were always top tier and we always tipped well until we noticed a change in quality of service. Somewhere along the line we started experiencing lackluster service or massages that were not what we asked for; a typical Swedish massage always did the trick but we recognized that we would receive Thai or combo instead so we stopped coming. On a whim we tried back and were provided BeBe and I genuinely forgot the name of my own masseuse but they had a short haircut and gave me an absolutely terrible experience. The massage moves were inconsistent, they kneaded too deeply into areas even after noticing the physical discomfort, they left me cold and uncovered while they went out to grab the towel to clean the oil and even after noticing me cover up when they returned, removed the sheet yet again. They were not in sync with my partner's masseuse BeBe (who I am told also did not perform a thorough or qualified service; slinging body parts about and forcefully pressing down on his legs instead of using a light touch) and ended abruptly despite not completing the full massage. We have had a few negative experiences but this was by far the WORST. We absolutely did not tip and did so without remorse as payment felt like too much for the actual service provided. I mean no disrespect to the woman at the front desk but if the masseuse cannot handle the job, they should not be doing it.
