They did a very good job of hemming both jeans and dress slacks. Reasonably priced and done on time.

I have been here 3 times, 2 for my hem alteration for jeans an 1 my husband needed some alteration with jacket. Our experiences here are far more pleasant than most reviews said at yelp. The lady was so friendly, at least the one we met. She started chatting with me and share our hometown stories. She even suggested my husband not doing one of the alterations because it's too expensive and not worth the money. She was very honest. Price is probably the best I could find nearby. 7 to 9 USD per pair for hem alteration, for jeans or khaki pants. There's a price list right at store entrance so they won't cheat you. Ready next day or in 2 days. I went to one alteration/dry clean place near us and it asked for 14, for 1 week, with the man not very friendly. I would never recommend them after my experience. Terrible service and bad overall customer service. The seamstress eye balled measurements & never used a standardized tool. When I picked up my order, the hem on multiple dresses & pairs of pants were uneven. I asked her to fix it & she told me that's how my body is. When I picked up the clothes that was re-altered, it was still uneven. What a waste of money. read more

After several years of being items here and being very satisfied, we trusted them with my daughters prom dress. There has been a change in staff and the end result was that the hem was a half inch too long in front and a train when we specifically asked for floor length. I'm certain we had repeated the request to confirm the understanding. I believe it was due to a communication gap but they wouldn't fix it without charging me a second time ($170). Very disappointed in the quality and turn around time. Took over 2 weeks to get garments back and one of the hems came completely undone after one washing. Staff not very pleasant either, definitely will not use again. read more

They hem pants in an hour and they're open on Sundays. What's not to love? I've had two pairs of pants hemmed here (when you're short all of the pants you buy are going to need to be hemmed) and both times they've done them in an hour while I walked around East Towne Mall. Plus their prices are on the lower end of the spectrum. Quick, cheap and efficient. Win-win. read more

I brought a slew of clothes. One was a glove with a torn knit cuff, a high school winter jacket needing letters sewn on, a sports jersey, rayon superhero button down shirt and a jacket that needed a zipper replacement. They did all of them in three days, at a reasonable price AND a fantastic job. They also do military uniforms! read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience here. I brought in 1 pair of dress pants on a Saturday that I needed hemmed, brought just in a little, and 1 small hole in the seam fixed. I was told that they would be done by 5:30pm the following Thursday. I thought this was a little long considering the "quick turnaround time" that I read about in other reviews, but I didn't need them back right away so this wasn't a huge issue. I came back on Thursday, right at 5:30pm, and saw my pants still hanging on the rack--they hadn't even been touched yet. I was extremely irritated, but again, I still didn't need them right away. I opted to come back in a couple days when she told me they would be done. I came back about two weeks later because I wanted to ensure they would be done. When I finally went to pick them up and try them on, the hole in the seam was STILL there! When I brought this to one of the employees' attention, her response was "Oh, she must have forgotten that." Yes, thank you. After all of this, I was given no sort of discount or even an apology. Needless to say, I will never bring my business here ever again. read more

I needed to replace several pairs of dress khakis that I use for work. I came across this tailoring shop after searching online in the area. I thought that a tailor located right in one of the main shopping malls in Madison would be very convenient - and the prices are pretty good too. After all, how much trouble can you get into just asking for simple hems in men's slacks? As it happens, quite a bit. I'm writing this after spending my evening washing calcium stains out of 5 pairs of brand-new slacks. I think the slacks are salvageable - but no thanks at all to the incompetence of these so-called tailors. The hems aren't all that great either. I will NEVER return to this store, and I will recommend the same to anyone who ever asks. read more

Horrible horrible service. I took my son's suits in for alterations and had no problems. So I took 3 uniform tops in to have 4 patches on each sew on and velcro added to the pocket flaps with the buttons sewed on the outside. Waited a week for them, velcro was not added, so back in for another week. Charged me $80! Got them home and went to put them on and my patches on the sleeves were all over the place. I did give them an example shirt to use and clearly they did not look at it. Took them back and they charged me another $20 after a $10 discount to place them right. Put my uniform on for work and found the buttons were not sewn to the outside and 2 of the 3 shirt pockets were not sewn back together. Rather than spending more money to have them correct their mistake, my wife is now hand sewing them until I can find a reputable seamstress. I will NEVER take anything back there again. read more

They replaced a zipper on my coat which broke after wearing it only 4 or 5 times. They do not stand by their work and wanted to charge me full price to fix their mistake. No thanks and I will not be back! read more

Poor customer service and quality of work! Took a brand new pair of $200+ jeans with tags on and they were ruined when hemming. Bootcut jeans were pulled so tight in hemming the bottoms were all wavy and looked ridiculous. They would not even attempt to fix without additional cost or replace the jeans. What a waste of money! I went in to have a patch put on some jeans the other day and found that they have raised their prices by double it seemed. I asked if they have a rate sheet and she said "no". I went ahead, because I have needed these jeans so long, but she then asked me to pay before the work was done. (not their policy in the past) The straw that broke the camels' back was when she tried to charge me $1 to use my debit card. I asked if they take checks and she said "no". I told her that I will just go somewhere else, and she informed me that she had already swiped my card. Now I am waiting to see if I need to cxl the charge on my account. I am looking for a new alteration place now after many years of going to Just Fine Alterations and recommending them to everyone. read more

I had a top to my dress altered. It was a white dress never worn, I couldn't wear it cause it was too small. When I got it back it had blood stains and what looked like sewing machine oil on the dress top. When I went to confront them they said it was my problem. I have paid you money and you mess up my dress. It was a dress to wear to a wedding. They wouldnt even try to fix it they got super defensive might I add thereare wholes in the top as well. A hundred dollar dress plus 20 on alterations and never can be worn again because its so stained. WILL NEVER RECOMMENDED THE EVER. DONT MESS WITH A WEDDING DRESS!!! read more

Picked up a prom dress after it was altered and it was still too long. She said it was fine.I took it home and steamed it to see if that would help.It didn't. When I took it back for the second time they would not do anything to fix it. She wouldn't give my money back either. $150 for just a hem and now I have to pay to take it somewhere else. Poor customer service and poor quality work. I would not suggest this place to anyone! read more
