They were good but if I am going to splurge on a high calorie treat, I am gonna be picky and this is not what I would choose the next time. Another customer walked in and after 5 minutes the other customer even whispered to me "I guess we shouldn't be in here". Raised donuts used to be quite good, if pricey. Got a maple bar this morning that was so awful, I could not finish it. The dough was wet with grease that tasted stale. The frosting was way too thick and had an off-taste. This place has only the ordinary type of coffee, nice and hot but little taste. I won't go back. read more

I used to love this place. But the last couple times I've been less than impressed. This time, the blueberry scone had maybe 3 berries in the whole thing and the raspberry cream cheese muffin was burnt. What they serve compared to the prices they charge really have me scratching my head. Most of the product is average at best, and possibly not even better than some grocery store bakeries... Bummed because the only reason we went there was for the pretty delicious coffee cakes, and they informed us that they stopped selling the regular smaller size, so you are now forced to buy the very large size that is too much unless you have a large family or party, and the price of that is also prohibitive from interesting us to make the trip, as it seems way over priced. Used to go every week. Now, basically going never. Don't get their product and pricing strategy. The place is convenient for those who are very local that need very basic donuts or things like that, but most products I have tried there besides the special coffee cakes lack any wow factor. Nothing special about the small shop space either, so they really need to step up their product quality, offerings, and value. read more

This is part of the other lynden dutch bakery. But I like this one better. It's easier to get in and out of the parking lot because it's at the fairway center and has a little more elbow room. I love the extras you place in the coolers, like soup and frosting. read more

All the Milk in their cooler was expired (something that should never happen at a small restaurant in a dairy town). Counter person wasn't friendly she seemed annoyed to have customers (this was before we even noticed we just bought expired milk). They were out of most of the usual bakery items and weren't serving ice cream the day we visited. We won't be back. read more

We do a girls trip to Lynden annually. The bakery is always on our list of places to stop. We arrived around 2:00 pm Saturday. We both ordered a peanut butter bar (which we love and it didn't disappoint), a carmelita bar (where was the caramel? and it tasted like it was past its sell by date), and a lemon blueberry muffin (discovered the next morning we didn't get that as both of our muffins were just plain... no lemon or blueberries). My raspberry muffin was good, my friend also ordered the chocolate cupcake with cream filling and ganache which again tasted like it was past its sell by date. She also had a spice muffin with frosting and said it tasted the same as whatever we got instead of lemon blueberry without the frosting. Altogether these items were just shy of $40. It was a letdown. I'm sure we will give you another shot next year as we like to support the local economy when we visit. We hope it will be a better experience. read more
