Ehrlooms hit absolute homeruns on the engagement ring and the wedding band. Stylistically, they focus more on antique jewelry. Or, in other words, their jewelry design centers more on an antique feel. However, this is a shop that will work with you in designing custom jewelry and will do it for a reasonable price. Overall, just an absolute must check-out if you are pricing out jewelry (and especially engagement rings) in the city.

Came here with my friend and we LOVED the store!…read more So much cute jewelry, and they'll offer you wine as well while you shop. We ended up getting permanent bracelets and semi-permanent rings (along with some other jewelry they had in the shop). For the permanent jewelry, you get to look at what seemed like HUNDREDS of different chains, it was so hard to decide! I loved that the price was listed on each of the chains, so you know what to expect. For a ring made from the chains, it is 1/3 of the price listed. I thought this was such a reasonable price too! On top of it all- it was unexpectedly such a fun experience! I can so see this being a really fun activity for a bachelorette party, a birthday, even just a girl's day out after brunch. The people working were so fun and so knowledgeable, you'll feel like you're in good hands. It's been a few days and I already want to add to my bracelet stack.... Definitely come in and check it out if you are in the area!

Forget tattoos, permanent jewelry is the best way to celebrate friendships…read more When one of our friends told us she was ~temporarily~ moving out of Chicago, we wanted to do something special. She came up with the idea we should get permanent jewelry! So off to Alexandra Marks we went. You can choose between permanent bracelets or anklets and there are so many different chains to choose from and you can even add on fun charms. We all selected a gold tone metal chain and opted for anklets since they seemed more durable. Hot tip: Ask for your anklet to be looser so that it's not as tight and is less prone to breaking! We got champagne to sip on and it was such a fun experience throughout. They also let us know if our jewelry does fall off or needs to be cut off, the store will fuse it back together as long as you call/make an appointment and bring it back to them to fix. Highly rec coming here for your next girls night!

I was given my price with no tax I believe I bought a ring and possibly a necklace though I don't remember exactly. The second time, I came back to buy the same ring, along with a bracelet and maybe the necklace if I didn't get it the first time. I wasn't given the no‑tax price this visit, and I'm not sure if the owner remembered me, but the experience was still very friendly. I do wish the ring I bought the second time hadn't scratched, but overall I really love my finds and would definitely go back again.

This review is LONG overdue…read more After looking online and at a couple of different 'big box' type jewelry stores for an engagement ring and just not finding what we wanted, we decided we wanted to go the route of having a custom ring made, and so we ended up at Holtzmann's. Pam and Pat Holtzmann are the most phenomenal folks around. When you're in their store, you feel like family. They are super friendly, and made you feel comfortable from the get-go. They are both super patient, and they really take the time to educate you on different stones, and different aspects of design to help make sure that you're creating a jewelry piece that will last a lifetime with proper care. We ended up having my engagement ring and my husband's wedding ring made by them, and then after having my husbands wedding ring made, I ended up wanting to make a more feminine, mini-version of his ring to be able to wear myself as well, and they helped us make that too. The quality of the jewelry pieces we received is outstanding, and working with Pam and Pat was the same. We valued getting to work with them so closely on pieces we plan to wear a lifetime! Although we had rings made, Holtzmann's specializes in all types of custom jewelry. We happened to pop into the store at the tail end of another couple leaving who had the most beautiful custom bracelet made, and at another visit saw someone picking up a necklace that they had redesigned with stones from a different necklace they no longer wore anymore. All of those jewelry pieces were amazing too. 10/10 recommend for whatever your jewelry needs are!!
