Absolutely adore this little local food truck. Hands down, the best, freshest, whole food açaí you will get in Boise. You choose your layer base (up to all 4) and your toppings which include fresh fruits, honey, homemade granola, goji berries and other superfoods. The morning I visited they had lemon chia seed pudding as part of the base and it was so delicious. My friend tried the avocado toast and she said it equally as delightful. Such sweet owners too. Check their website for their locations. I am in SE Boise, Harris Ranch, so will definitely be visiting the Switchback on Friday mornings. YUMMY!!!!

This little trailer of sunshine delivers heaping bowls of deliciousness! A perfect blend of ingredients! Local Idaho honey, Hemp hearts, and goji berries, top this fruit filled bowl. Service was prompt, customizations on any and all bowls available. They also serve fancy avocado toasts!!!

The main reason we go to the farmers market every Saturday is to get an Acai bowl! They are so friendly and kind! Their food is delicious and it's how we love to spend our sat morning!

Warning: #1 fan-girl here, read at your own discretion! This adorable little yellow and white '63 camper has my heart. It's a family owned business and my absolute favorite "food truck" in the champaign area. Their menu features acai bowls, oatmeal, avocado toast and seasonal beverages. Many of their ingredients are locally sourced (for example their honey and bread) and they themselves make the granola from scratch. Not only are you treating yourself, you're contributing to the CU-economy! The owner, Emma, is kind hearted and friendly and man, does she work hard! The camper can be found at several different spots in central illinois (no matter what the weather!) and on certain days they even do deliveries. I try to catch them at least once a week for my acai fix (clearly I'm hooked). They have a set menu and then a seasonal one as well. Their acai bowls come in 3 different sizes, of course I get the biggest size; 16 oz! They offer coconut bowls/Mason jars that get you 10% off every purchase. Now you're helping the environment! Even though all their acai bowls are delicious, my personal favorite is called "bee fruitful", it's got strawberries, bananas, blueberries, pineapple, goji berry, hemp hearts and granola with a honey drizzle. It's the perfect sweet treat no matter what the weather/mood/time of the day. You can catch them on Instagram for location and menu updates and DM'd them for special requests such as Acai cakes or a DIY acai station. If you're in the CU- area this is a must try; Wonderful people who care about the community and the environment dishing out the most amazing acai bowls!

One of the best acai bowls I've ever had! Love the fresh ingredients and the support of other small local businesses.

I've also heard glowing reviews about the avacado toast and such, but I'm still hooked on the Bee Sassy and unwilling to give it up to try something new lol.

The burger itself was outstanding--perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and the toppings were balanced just right without overwhelming the burger. Even the bun was soft yet held everything together perfectly, which is something a lot of places overlook. What really stood out was the attention to detail across the whole meal. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and everything came out hot and fresh without a long wait. It's clear this place cares about consistency and customer experience. Whether you're just stopping in for a quick bite or looking for a go-to burger spot, this place absolutely delivers. We will definitely be coming back again and recommending it to anyone who appreciates a truly great burger. Location is fun with other restaurants nearby. Must visit!

The service was fast, as we didn't wait the full 45 minutes before being seated. Upon walking in you see an upscale modern atmosphere, and date night ambiance. I felt underdressed as usual in my shorts, but was welcomed nonetheless. We ordered the potato fingerlings, because when in Boise you order potatoes. However I wasn't much of a fan, tasted more like grocery store potato wedges. The other appetizer was the meatballs, which is served with a garlic bread I wish I had an entire loaf of. It was really good and though it seems small it was good enough when cut up, maybe it could've done with 1 more meatball and definitely some more bread. For dinner the kid had a half cheese half crispy pepperoni pizza, which of course he didn't like, not like the chain pizza shops he's used to but I had some and it was delicious. He did like the crust, and still ate a couple sliced. I shared a half Bronco, half Honey Badger pizza with the missus. Everything was good, but the honey badger's grilled onions overwhelmed the taste. My favorite was the Bronco which our California transplant server recommended. It had a nice spice to it that hits the back of your throat just enough to wake you up but not enough to have you reaching for a drink. I already recommended this place to friends that live in the area. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

We started with fingerling potatoes and the meatballs. Both were excellent, although we felt the meatballs had an edge over the potatoes. We ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza for our son and we also ordered a half honey badger, half bronco pizza for us. All the pizzas were amazing but the bronco (also the one our waiter recommended) took the top prize. It had a nice taste and the right amount of spice to it. It was delicious and I highly recommend it.

That is the description of what I ordered for their handmade fresh pasta rigatoni that I got. Let me just say that all these flavors that they put into one dish were absolutely amazing. I really did not think they needed to have the spinach and mushrooms. Because the lemon crema and the Gorgonzola cheese were absolute phenomenal the braze beef was just to die for. This is a very small restaurant and there's only so many tables to get. I was able to sit at the bar which Aisha was the bartender. He did an amazing job and really helped lead me to my order of ordering the rigatoni. I had a beer with dinner and I did not order dessert. If you need to go to the bathroom, there is a door that leads outside the restaurant to the bathroom the weight was a little bit long for it, and luckily a neighboring coworker was able to lead me to their bathroom. I highly recommend checking out this place just because of the handmade pasta, which was something of a unique taste because it was well worth the price

First time in Boise, Idaho, visiting for the Boise Half Marathon. I ended up dining at Alavita…read moretwice -- once to carbo-load the night before my race, and again the day after as a recovery dinner. Alavita is an upscale Italian restaurant, and I'd recommend making reservations, especially for dinner. My first visit was with a reservation for one, while my second was a walk-in where I managed to snag patio seating. On my first visit, I started with the House-Baked Focaccia, which came with truffle-honey butter. The focaccia was light, fresh, and served pre-sliced. The honey and butter combination was absolutely divine and paired wonderfully with the bread. It honestly made me wonder why more Italian restaurants don't serve something similar. For my entrée, I ordered the daily special, which I believe was a cheese tortellini with shrimp and corn in a lemon garlic sauce. It was flavorful, deceptively filling, and paired well with the focaccia. While it wasn't the best pasta I've ever had, it was a satisfying and enjoyable pre-race meal. On my second visit, I started with the fennel and arugula salad, which featured fennel-apple slaw, pistachios, rehydrated cherries, lemon, olive oil, and shaved Parmesan. I particularly enjoyed the cherries and pistachios, which added nice sweetness and crunch. Not mind-blowing, but certainly good. For my entrée, I had to try the Rigatoni: braised local beef, black garlic-truffle butter, roasted local mushrooms, spinach, pickled red onion, lemon crema, and Grana Padano. I ordered it because so many reviews mentioned it. I don't eat beef very often, so this was a bit of a treat for me. The braised beef was tender and flavorful. Interestingly, my opinion of the dish changed as I ate it. Initially, I had it around a 3.5/5, but by the end it had climbed to a 4.5/5. This might sound strange, but I found that when I slowed down, closed my eyes for a bite or two, and really focused on the flavors, the dish came together much better. The richness of the braised beef, the garlic-truffle butter, and the mushrooms became much more noticeable, and I found myself appreciating the combination more and more with each bite. For me, it was one of those dishes that rewards slowing down and savoring it. Overall, I highly recommend Alavita for Italian food in Boise. The service was friendly, the food was thoughtfully prepared, and both meals left me satisfied. The lemon garlic shrimp tortellini special made for excellent pre-race fuel, and the rigatoni was a memorable post-race meal. I went on to finish 10th overall in the Boise Half Marathon despite rainy conditions and the challenges of running at a higher elevation than I'm used to, so I was certainly grateful for the quality food beforehand. Hope to be back the next time I'm in the Boise area. Visited June 2026.

Great atmosphere and excellent service recovery!…read more I stopped by Tupelo Honey in downtown Boise for lunch and loved the vibe. The decor features beautiful artificial greenery that gives the space a light, vibrant, and welcoming feel. My server, Brayden, was fantastic--friendly, prompt, and attentive. I started with the Southern Hospitality mimosa (peach & pineapple with "Blue Ridge Bubbly"), which was incredible. For my meal, I chose the $10.99 Lunch Break Special, upgrading my side to the chicken poblano soup alongside the half honey pecan chicken salad sandwich. While I was looking at the bar, a gentleman named Scott asked how I was enjoying my food. I told him I hadn't tried it yet, but that the mimosa was rocking! The soup was delicious with great flavoring, and the biscuits paired perfectly with their tasty jam. The chicken salad also tasted great, but unfortunately, I bit into a sharp chicken bone that hurt my mouth. Because of this, I stopped eating the sandwich. When Brayden checked back in, I let him know I couldn't finish it due to the bone. He handled it perfectly, promptly took the sandwich away, and removed the charge from my bill. He also brought out some bread for my soup as requested. I finished my meal with a salted caramel craft iced latte, which was absolutely delicious. Minor food mishap aside, the outstanding customer service from both Brayden and Scott will definitely bring me back!
