We were traveling through Boise, spending the night and decided to have some ethnic food. A Yelp search showed Kabob House to have great ratings, so we decided to stop by. There is plenty of parking space in front and we were able to find several items from their extensive menu of Afghan and Persian food and ordered a few for us. All of the appetizers and entrees we ordered were delicious. The desserts were oh so sweet and tasted great with the tea they served. The good atmosphere, great food and fantastic customer service make this a place I would want to go back to again. Very highly recommended!

Chai tea.. I was to busy eating forgot to take pics of food.

This was my first time in Boise and also first time eating food from this region. It was great experience and awesome food. Please go and visit and taste some great food.

More empty at 2pm on Sunday, but a steady stream of grubhub and similar pickups

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food at Kabob House. The lesson is not to "judge a book by its cover" because the ambiance isn't a good measure of the food. Really enjoyed the lamb, giant naan, delicious curry, and sweet Persian tea. So good, I added an extra to-go order!

Always a fun experience! We took some friends from out of town and as usual we were not disappointed. Very authentic high quality food! Our friends have 2 little girls and they made a special dish with no spice for them and brought them juice boxes which thrilled them!

Mast kahir- Persian version. Was outstanding!

The man that works the front of the house will be your friend. He has outstanding customer service. You can tell he loves what he does, truly. Over the last several years, the restaurant is looking more and more beautiful. And now, for the food.... The best in Boise. Hands down. I have tried all the middle eastern food, because it is my favorite. The Kabob House has it dialed with flavors and portions. What an exceptional restaurant. I will be back again and again.

Went here last night with a friend and honestly? One of those nights that reminds you why going out to eat is supposed to be fun. We were greeted immediately by the owner, who shook our hands, introduced himself, and instantly made us feel welcome. Like... genuinely welcome, not "hi table for two" welcome. When we were shown to our table, I noticed the raised platform where you can sit on the floor and was like, oh absolutely yes. We asked if we could sit there and suddenly we had this whole cozy room to ourselves. He even drew the curtain so it felt private and special -- chef's kiss. The food was incredible. The chicken marsala was out-of-this-world good, the naan was warm and delicious, and the kebabs were fresh with perfectly seasoned, tender meat. Everything tasted thoughtful and made with care. But the real standout? The service. Hands down. The owner kept checking in on us, making sure we were good, asking if we needed anything, joking with us -- just the right balance of attentive and chill. By the end of the night, he even shared a bit of his story and talked about where he lived in Afghanistan, which made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. We laughed, we lingered, we had the best time. If you're looking for something a little different, a little special, with incredible food and even better hospitality -- this is it. Go hungry, go curious, and don't skip the floor seating if you get the chance.

This is my favorite place for Middle Eastern Cuisine. We ordered two different lamb dishes and the goat curry, and all were amazing. The customer care here is also outstanding. Shams, the owner, makes you feel very welcome and always ensures you have the best experience here. The ambience is also clean, and nice. This restaurant is my first choice when it comes to eat here in Meridia

I been going to Kabob House for years. It's one of our favorite restaurants to go to. I love their food. Our favorites are Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Biryani, Butter Chicken, Kofta Chalow and Naan. Most of the time the owner waited on us. He is so friendly and treated us like royalties.

Honestly one of the best places I've eaten here in Boise. It's very much a hidden gem! Food portion is pretty big and if you're waiting on food to go, the gentleman up front will usually bring you some tea if you're sitting alone. This place makes it feel like you're visiting a friend significantly better than just dining out. The staff is always so pleasant to be around! They can absolutely accommodate big families or just a couple. Either way you will always want to say goodbye vs just leaving after paying!

I dated a middle eastern man for a few years and let me tell you, his family knew how to throw down. They honestly made the best kabobs, tea and hummus around. So, trying to eat these things at other joints without being too harsh is very hard. But, I decided to give Kabob house a try today. My dental assistant that was working on me went there for lunch and she very much enjoyed it so I took it as a sign to go. I did come in at an odd lunch hour. It was pushing 2 when I got there. There were a table of guests wrapping up and then me. The waiter was having his own lunch when I walked in. I gladly stopped what he doing and greeted me. He let me pick out a table so I headed to the other end of the restaurant to sit by myself. I was given a bottle of water and a few minutes to look over the menu. Everything looked good! I like that they have some of my favorites like butter chicken and hummus. I decided on the combination kabob. I snagged the chicken and beef shami. While I was waiting for the food to be prepared, I ordered some tea. I ordered the tea with the spices and the milk. I recently fell in love with the spiced tea at a local Indian restaurant that had similar spices. That tea was life changing. But unfortunately, I didn't get the tea with the milk. It was still good tea but I was hoping for the milk tea. It did feel like my food took forever to be prepared. But when it finally came out my plate looked amazing. I love when my food is charred. The chicken and beef kabob were both charred nicely! I got a beautiful helping of biriyani with some salad and fries I grabbed a fry first. Being an Idaho girl, of course I'm going to eat the potatoe first. Ya, I got served cold fries. I'm sure they were prepared earlier, left in a bowl and needed to be used up. I worked on my salad next. The dressing was clean and tart tasting. But my salad was wilted which was a bummer. I'm sure the salad would have tasted great if the salad mix was fresh. The salad mix tasted like a previously dressed that was dressed earlier, you ate some and decided to go back 30 minutes later to finish the rest. The biriyani was fluffy. Paired with either the chicken or beef kabob.... perfect bite! The beef kabob had a slight heat to it. It kinda crept up on you after you eat a few bites of it. The chicken was flavorful. The chicken was still tender despite it being white meat chicken. I appreciate how much chicken and beef you got in each kabob. I was only able to finish half. I really want to give this place 4 stars cause the service was great and the kabobs were tasty. But I can't get over my cold fries and wilted salad. I know those 2 things are the main stars of the dish but what a great combination it would have been to be able to eat the salad and chicken together. My server was really nice and grabbed me a to go cup for my tea. Even though the tea was good, I had wanted the other tea. Maybe it was the time that I went was the reason why my plate wasn't the best. So, I do look forward to coming back at a normal dining hour to hopefully have a better experience with the food and tea.

Me and my mother frequent this place because the food is just amazing. I am yet to try a dish here I don't love! The owner is a very sweet guy and they always get the food out at reasonable times. I love the decor and this restaurant as a whole!

This has been on my radar for a few years, just never went. On a blustery cold March day, what better than a Lamb Biryani to warm the body and soul? The mixture of spices along with the marinade used for the lamb was outstanding. The Naan came out on a plate the size of a 1960's Cadillac hubcap. I knew this was going to be a great old-school lunch. There are bones in the lamb biryani, so chew slow and you will be safe. The chunks of lamb are huge and very tender. I loved the huge tropical fish tank at the front. It was very relaxing to watch. If you are not experienced in eating Middle East and Afgan meals, it may overwhelm you with the size of the dishes. There is always a take home box upon request. If you never have ventured into this style of cuisine, you have missed one of the great meals. Step up to the challenge and visit Kabob House. Totally recommend this establishment.

After being the only two sitting in the restaurant for 10 minutes, someone brought us menus. Another 10 later, they came back for our order. It was a tad frustrating because an item I wanted to order had a well-worn sticker blocking it out. Placed our food and drink order. Several minutes later, someone different came from the back and said one of the two items was also not available. So another item was chosen. Drinks were not delivered (tea and a water) until the food came 20 minutes later. And the water was a tiny 8-ounce bottle of water. 1.5 hours and we were the only diners. That says something. Food - Of what we could order, the chicken tikka was good but not amazing. 4 stars. The lamb kabob was amazingly bland and tough. So disappointing as I typically love lamb. 2 stars. The hummus was thin and tasted too sour with no flavor dimension to it. Was it old? Better hummus has a slight nutty flavor to it and this needed more garlic. 3 stars. Rice actually had decent flavor. 4 stars. We had both the pistachio and walnut baklava. As a baklava connoisseur, the walnut was far better flavor and texture but both seemed dry and old. Bread was okay. When I look at the number or reviews from those in CA or OR with less than 5 reviews on their account (all giving 5 stars) - it seems clear that people want free baklava or hot tea, as they advertise at the table when you sit down. But they need to read your review first before getting the token item. I have better ethics and higher standards than that. Maybe the restaurant section is on the slide. For a $20 entree, not worth it. There is better in Boise.

Tonight our basket of fries, $6, was woefully under cooked and under seasoned. The two rice bowls, lamb ($23.99) and gyro ($16 or $17.99), were just bad. The rice was at least two days old and pasty, and had no lemon flavor. It shrunk away from the walls of the container as though it were dessicated. The gyro meat was in small shreds, as though the cook were trying to make the meat go further and the amount of gyro and lamb meat was at least 1/3 of what it used to be. Tomatoes used to be cut in wedges were now inconsistent, thin slices. And the onions weren't sliced anymore but diced small and dropped in a small patch of the tray. The BFG had a "weird flavor" as though something was old, but the pita was very good--and for the increased price, should have been better. As one who has been to Greece twice, I did used to enjoy a "taste of Athens" regularly, but the consistency issues are too much for a to-go order topping $77 with tip.
