After considering flooring options, visiting several stores and receiving 3 proposals, I chose All Surface Flooring mostly because I knew 4 people who had good experiences with them. My personal experience with All Surface is mixed. They have a great selection of flooring options. The employees I interacted with were mostly helpful, pleasant and wanting to perform their jobs well. I am pleased with the flooring choices I made, and the installers did a good job. Unfortunately, quite a few communication issues occurred with All Surface. The issues began with the proposal going to the wrong email address. There were times I was promised a call or an update, but no follow through. I tried to be patient and understanding. Mixups happen. People are busy. The biggest issue was when my house was being measured, I mentioned I want new white baseboards in the right side of my house to match the existing baseboards in the left side of my house. The employee who measured took a picture and said we can get that. No one checked to see if they had any in stock so they didn't get ordered until the 3rd or 4th day after the job had started causing a lengthy delay. There was also an issue with the transition pieces that caused another delay. The bottom line is I was told the job would take about 5 days to complete, but it took 43. I did receive several apologies, which I appreciate, but I do not think Roy, the owner, realizes how frustrating, inconvenient and disruptive the experience was.

The newly refinished area blends seamlessly with our existing flooring -- you would never know where the old ends and the new begins. Their craftsmanship is truly exceptional. While the entire company has been wonderful to work with, I want to especially recognize Jesse and Ray, the two technicians who completed our project. These two went above and beyond from start to finish. They took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all of our questions with patience and clarity, and treated our home with genuine care. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the experience outstanding. Jesse and Ray are true assets to Luminous Flooring, and because of them, we will gladly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality flooring work. Five stars all the way.

We agreed on the price, and a few days later, Dan called to schedule a time that worked for us. They arrived at the time scheduled and spent 3 hours doing the job. Dan had recommended a caulk that would match the marble instead of the original white that was in there. We weren't too sure, but Dan put in one of the seams samples of white and two other colors to let us decide. Well, he was right, the color he recommended was perfect! You can tell they've been doing this for years, because their work is so precise. The shower now looks absolutely seamless and actually brand new with the matching caulk. We have used so many different service companies over the years that have overcharged for less than perfect work, but not "All About Tile & Grout" - they are professionals who truly deliver and what they charge is more than fair. (Actually, we thought they undercharged for what they did.) We are in the process of getting our home ready to sell, so we've been dealing with many different companies in the process. So we know a good job when we see it, and want to recognize those companies and the good job they've done.

Ultimately, we bought enough Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring from Cortec to cover about 1,300 sq feet that we installed ourselves and we had the store install carpet in the remaining space. Our close friend is a floor contractor (although he can't actually lay carpet any longer due tot he impact on his knees) and he was impressed with the work the store's installer's did. Lord knows, this is superior to what you'll deal with at the big box stores where you have no idea who is going to do your installation. All in all, the store was easy to work with and got us what we needed when we needed it.

As a Consumer that loves to support local and/or small businesses I wish I had patronized a Big Box Store for this small project and accepted a quote that would have been twice as much, but at least I would have been able to open and close the Front door and have closet doors that were actually able to open and close after the flooring job was complete!! They do not agree that after a flooring job has been complete that a customer should Assume that their doors, including the FRONT door will open and close! This is one of those situations where one person (let's call him Terry) knows that his employee (Humm let's call him Jeff) did not write a Bid correctly and then outsourced the Labor to a company that is not equipped to do the job!! Don't let the "SALE" price persuade you because they do not include or expect for a job to be complete. Terry actually said "well it doesn't say the doors will open" WTF! Terry originally verbally agreed that Jeff should have known that the new carpet would need a different installer! I didn't hire the outscourced company! I hired this sorry excuse of a flooring company! #SMALLCLAIMSCOURT #HORRIBLE

When I reported the issue, I was told the chips had always been there and had simply been covered by the previous carpet. That explanation didn't make sense to me, particularly because there was glue residue present in areas where the tile was supposedly already chipped. While the owner made an offer to replace one tile, I was left feeling that the burden was placed on me to prove the damage occurred during installation. Whether you agree with their explanation or not, I would recommend thoroughly documenting and photographing any adjacent flooring before work begins. What started out as a good experience left me feeling somewhat sad and disappointed as if we, as the customer, did something wrong. Bummer.

They showed years of deferred maintenance, damage from the previous owners' pets, and a few footprints from their DIY refinishing job-gone-wrong. After speaking with a few companies, we were skeptical of whether we'd be able to bring these old floors back to life. When we met Jim at Abeln Floor Systems, we instantly saw that he was passionate about restoration. His expertise is unparalleled and we knew he was the right person for this job. Jim also had an inventory that would help us repair a few tricky areas that required special attention and odd-sized boards. We kicked off the job by doing a walkthrough with both Jim and his crew member Kenny. This ensured we had a shared expectation of outcomes and gave us all the opportunity to flag any areas of concern before the work started. Throughout the process, both Jim and Kenny were incredibly transparent and proactive with their communications; we received a daily check in call to share updates, ask questions, and confirm we were satisfied with the work so far. I couldn't imagine a better outcome and my biggest regret is that we didn't do this project sooner. I mean, look at the pictures!! The floors are immaculate and have made such a significant impact in restoring this home's character. Jim and Kenny were both amazing to work with and I'm so thankful that we were able to do this project with them. If you are looking for high-quality outcomes and a trustworthy crew, look no further.
