So ono! Since the fire, they've shifted gears and have done so much great work to help the community: gathering and delivering literal boatloads of fuel, water, and other supplies while roads in and out of west Maui were closed and access was only available by sea....then, after the roads reopened, donating fish every week to households in need. They've also provided thousands of meals (under their Tails Up Maui operation) to displaced people and volunteers helping with relief efforts. Now that things are settling a bit, they're in the retail business again (and still doing their charitable work), so if you're looking for the freshest local fish, please check them out! #thankyouthursday

On this trip it was reported that local fishing was slower than usual, and the demand higher. I tried several local sources and stood in line only to have what they had sell out before I could get any. My wife stumbled upon Fresh Fish Maui online and I wanted to give them a try. I had several questions and used the chat function on their website and they responded quickly and had great answers for my questions. I ordered a pound of fresh Ono and a pound of fresh/frozen Kauai Shrimp. They were able to leave the delivery at my condo in Kihei in a cooler I left by our door so we didn't even have to be at home, which was very convenient! The product was delivered quickly and was ice cold, packaged perfectly and fresh! We grilled them up and it was clear that the fish was incredibly fresh (caught that day) and well cared for. I will definitely order from them again when I visit Maui! Mahalo Fresh Fish Maui!

Demming is absolutely amazing! I cannot recommend her enough…read more I called from the mainland to arrange a surprise for my son-in-law's birthday while he and my daughter were visiting Lahaina. Demming was incredibly helpful, responsive, and communicative, and the balloon bouquet she put together was a huge hit! Then I was working on an even more special surprise. My daughter and son-in-law are expecting their first baby, and I wanted to create a special gift that would also reveal the baby's gender. I had contacted a couple of stores directly without any luck, and even the resort gift shop wasn't able to help. So I called Demming, explained my idea, and asked if it was something she could possibly do. My idea was simple: an Aloha shirt for my son-in-law, along with a matching baby-sized shirt, so that when he opened the gift he would discover they were having a boy. Demming didn't just make it happen, she took my idea to an entirely different level! She did all the shopping, found the perfect Aloha shirt for my son-in-law, and then found an adorable baby outfit with little shorts to match. She creatively wrapped everything so that his shirt was on top, with the baby's outfit tucked underneath in tissue paper, along with the sweetest card that said, "Surprise! It's a boy!" And because it was also his birthday, she cleverly disguised the whole thing as a birthday present! What made this experience so special was Demming herself. From our very first conversation, I could tell that she genuinely cared about making this surprise wonderful. She was excited about the idea, enthusiastic about helping, and clearly wanted to make the moment just as special as I did. I was thousands of miles away on the mainland, but Demming made me feel like I had someone there who was personally invested in making this incredibly important family moment perfect. The surprise was absolutely fabulous, and I am so grateful to Demming for helping create such a special memory for my daughter and son-in-law. If you need someone in Lahaina who will go above and beyond, think creatively, and truly care about making your surprise special, call Demming. You will not be disappointed!

Hiram, Jordan, BRAVO!…read more My family (8 of us, with all very different tastes) have unanimously agreed that Hiram created for us one of the greatest meals each of us have ever eaten. The food however was not the only high point - Honu Cuisine is a package. It's Hiram's incredible ability to source the best and freshest ingredients, use his customer's menu choices to perfectly match those ingredients, and create a beautiful, artistic, and incredibly tasty meal. It's also about Hiram's carefully chosen "front of house" assistant. That's right, he comes with a partner. In our case we feel very lucky and honored for that front of house to be Jordan. He is a long-time resident of the island, a fruit and vegetable farmer, and an incredibly knowledgeable foodie and Maui host. Separately Hiram and Jordan would be spectacular, together they are magical. The meal was entertaining, stimulating, and delicious. Hiram brought everything from cookware to serving dishes along with his incredible ingredients, Jordan brought fresh flowers and entertainment. This meal is worth every penny - please make the best decision you'll make while in Maui - have Hiram cook for you! Ryan & Genvieve Schmidt, the Adams and the Brewers, Aloha.
