I called at 9:30 in the morning to schedule a full set for 3:30 in the afternoon, after I asked if they had availability to which she said yes. She proceeded to say no to the service. Since there are limited nail salons in the small town of fernley, modern nails was my last option since I knew it would be more of a possibility to get in, their website states walk ins welcomed. I struggled with my hair not growing for about five years, and Susana gave me great recommendations that truly made a difference. My hair now looks and feels the healthiest it has in a long time. My nails always look amazing too -- and I can be very picky! I'm also pretty indecisive when it comes to choosing designs, but Susana is always patient and helps me pick styles that fit me perfectly. It's pretty disappointing when you've visited a place before and never had an issue, only to have…read moresuch a completely different experience. From the moment I sat down, the stylist seemed uninterested, standoffish, and unwilling to listen. I even paused to make small talk, hoping to break the ice, but was met with a snappy response. At that point, I just thought, "Alright... maybe I shouldn't have mentioned anything." The worst part came afterward when my family asked, "I thought you were going to cut your hair? It looks the same except the back's a little shorter!" Unfortunately, they were right. She didn't do what I requested and instead did exactly what I had asked her not to do. I asked for the top to be trimmed 2-3 inches, to leave the length alone because it was fine, and not to shave the back of my neck. I honestly considered not leaving a tip, but I chose to anyway because I didn't want whatever was bothering her to carry over to the next customer. I didn't want them to go through the same horrible experience I did. For whatever reason, she obviously wasn't interested in listening to anything I had to say. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Great Clips. I understand everyone has off days, but customers should still feel heard and leave with the haircut they requested. My mom was a cosmetologist for over 30 years, and I can guarantee you she never disrespected her customers.
